JN may have committed many blunders that have adversely impacted our country's economy, education system, defence preparedness, quality of governance, foreign relations and international standing. But on the question of caste based reservations beyond the provisions which had been made in the Constitution for SCs and Sts, he was right. Government support for other tan SCs and STs should have been on economic criteria and not on caste. Now the congress and other regional parties are using caste based reservation as a political tool for their their own benefit rather than for those sections of the population which are in genuine need of such support and assistance.
