Thanks Simon! While watching this video, you helped me realize that the relationship between the finite an infinite game is governed by the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle.
You can also become braver and stronger without hitting the goals you set. It's not like a light switch where you only get the gains after reaching the goal. It's more like a scale that's constantly increasing.
I have no goals... I simply thank God that I have my health. All the goals I set for myself were destroyed by outside factors. Every single one. It would take a novel to explain. It sent me into a depression and then I simply snapped out of it by my first sentence. Absurdly enough, I've been happier and healthier ever since.
I admire your bravery in finding peace after being challenged and lacking support. Seeing this bravery makes me wonder if you can allow yourself to dream, and set goals that you want, despite the external challenges. All the best 😊
I love the analogy of losing weight as a goal but missing it. The problem I'm seeing is that businesses keep pushing the "time is money" mindset. So that 2 months that may take you longer than initially anticipated is seen as 2 months' "money" that wasn't planned for, and the obsession comes from the money that is perceived as "lost". Even in the Agile world, business leadership is completely on board with new ways of working until it becomes more expensive than the forecast said it would 12 months ago. Then it's panic stations all over again, and the new ways of working get reverted back into a comfort zone, where money-predictability is more comfortable. Why? Because moving out of the comfort zone would have impacted the SHAREHOLDERS. Heaven knows I love the insights that Simon brings into the world. Heck, my day job revolves around them. But big organisations have not been about the people for a while now. They are exclusively for and about the shareholders. Any notion that takes focus away from the money provided to shareholders is alien and a threat to them and will ultimately be shot down.

Setting goals is an important step towards achieving your dreams and aspirations. By defining specific, measurable, and realistic goals, you can create a roadmap for your success. It's important to set both short-term and long-term goals, and to break them down into actionable steps. Additionally, make sure your goals align with your values and aspirations. Remember, setting goals is just the first step, it's up to you to take consistent action towards achieving them. With determination and persistence, you can make your dreams a reality.
Is it really about IBM missing the numbers that one month out of the last 69 months or is it about the culture or upper management's own (that one Dir./V.P., etc.) personal need to be perfect which trickles down, mentally, psychologically and philosophically, possibly changing an individual's personality over many years. When you have someone in management who has an obsessive compulsive need to success without failure, and the anger that comes with those moments of failure, do those underneath, over years of working for that style of management become, slowly, over time, obsessed with doing the same and not be aware that they have changed? When they end up in that role (as a Dir. V.P., etc.), can that person be affected so much that they believe that the previous Dir.'s personality type is the best personality type for that role? Do they do this and modify who they are to appease those above? Does this solidify a company into not changing and growing?

Let's just say Will Durant was quoting Aristotle
" Achieve your goals makes you better and braver "

Thank you!! God bless you
It's absolutely true and inspiring Mr Sinek ❤️.
Hitting goals makes you braver and stronger

My role model. Thanks, Simon Sinek!

Sounds like an inspiring story, happiness out of grief!

Thank you. I needed to know this information. Greetings from Indonesia
A goal hasn't ended just because you reached it.

Superrrb Awesome Fantastic video
I mispoke Dr. Sinek. Now I have another question. What do you do if you don't know your goals??
