Thanks for the video, really well explained. I was wondering if they got rid of the option to do a partial ring or loop selection within the 'standard' selection tool. Seems like you are forced to use the ring or loop selection tool; can those tools do a partial selection? do you know?
@@BTB3D Seems like you can do "partial selection" aka shortest path selection by pressing Ctrl + Shift while in move / scale / rotate tools; that is the tool I was referring, it's just not available in the rectangle or brush selection mode. In polygon mode works great, since there's no difference between a poly-loop or poly-ring. But in edge mode you still need the ring selection tool to select edge rings... I can probably live without this.
Another great video! This should definitely help speed up my workflow. I'll have to look through your uploads to see if you've done a video on the uses of Vertex maps/weights, but that would be great to see. Cheers! Also, I saw that Redshift has a new Matrix Scatter? Maybe it's not new... either way, would love to know when to use that as opposed to the cloner and what the benefits of that are. Thanks again!!
I just want the very very very basic selection tool! and there are a lot of types but that. So just to select edges, vertices, and just that! where is that?
Love your work, brother!!! Thank you for sharing! X
Thanks for the kind words!
Select connected also works when you double click on a face with transform tool on polygon mode. Also acts as loop selection in edges mode.
Amazing topic

I am honestly not sure, I will have to look into it...

The Matrix Scatter isn't new, but yea I am not entirely sure how it is different either.
Thank you very much. Is there a reason why loop selection doesn't work on an editable plane?
Could be one of the options needs to be toggled on.
is there no shortcut key to switcth to vertex, edge and faces mode?
Not by default, but it is possible to set some up.

In this video.
@@BTB3D There is no selection tool, only the move tool instead....
