The Clan na Gael was an Irish republican organization in the United States in the late 19th and 20th centuries, successor to the Fenian Brotherhood and a sister organization to the Irish Republican Brotherhood.
Seán Cronin 1920-2011 served as Chief of Staff of the IRA in 1959. He was the author of the plan that formed the basis of the IRA’s Operation Harvest in the north of Ireland 1956-62. He became associated with Clan na Gael while a journalist in New York.
