- Marquise Knox returned to the Blues CIty Deli after way too long to give the Deli-zens a show they will not forget. Real Deal Blues from a old soul / young master of the genre. This is a medley of Johnnie Taylor's "Last Two Dollars", B.B. King's "The Thrill is Gone" and "I'll Play the Blues for You" by Jerry Beach (a lot of folks think Albert King wrote it - he just made the song famous). The band includes Marquise Knox on lead guitar and vocals, Michael Battle - drums, Gus Thornton - bass and Matt Lawder - rhythm guitar. Shot on location during the Thursday Night House Party at Vinnie Valenza's World Famous Blues City Deli in the Benton Park neighborhood in South St. Louis, Missouri. This video was shot on location by Reed R. Radcliffe / TripleRPhotography - please visit my website TripleRPhotogra... for hundreds more live blues and roots videos and thousands of music photos.
I am in love with Marquise Knox. I need to see his ID. There is NO way he is just 27. What a old soul and amazing sound.
He is actually 25. Marquise is an old soul and blessed with the talent of his forbearers. You will see a lot of Marquise in the future. I sometimes wish I were 20 years younger so I could see what he's like when he's 50.
Then what I'm thinking isn't illegal. I knew Mr. King & he thought "that boy" could play. So, that's good enough for me. I need to see him in person. I would love to have him play in State College (Penn State) Arts Fest next year.
You should come to St. Louis and visit the National Blues Museum some evening when he plays, or catch him at Beale on Broadway or another venue. Guarantee your trip won't be wasted - you will find a new source of the blues. We have some of the best unknown blues bands in the country.
Thanks. I am going to do that. The people in this video make me smile. I need to be there dancing to the sounds of Marquise.
