    The Old Chicago Bulls stadium and Old Boston Garden dwarfs the arenas of today. The energy was incredible! These were the classic days of the Bulls vs Knicks rivalry. I was a die hard Knicks fan then, so I'm familiar with The G.O.A.T. #23

    • @mikep5237
      @mikep5237 9 лет назад +5

      Amen! The original Chicago Stadium was loud all the time! The UC is too large and too corporate to get vry loud when the Bulls (and Hawks) play.

    • @Jtitoj0923
      @Jtitoj0923 9 лет назад +2

      sounds like the New Yankees Stadium. I've been a life long Yankee fan since 1978 and to say the new Stadium is Corporate and concessions are over priced is an understatement. They tried to kick us out for rooting too loud when they were playing the Red Sox in the new stadium. I was 10 rows from the field and the security guard kept coming back to tell us to stop cursing and no one cuss word was uttered. It was weird! shhhh in your own stadium against your rival. #TrueStory

    • @edmondlau511
      @edmondlau511 6 лет назад +1

      Definitely. I think the newer stadiums are built with concert acoustics in mind whereas they didn't care with the old stadiums. The sound in the old stadiums would just bounce off the walls and amplify the sound and energy that went through the building. Boston Garden was just the sound but it was also the legendary floor.

    I like what Pippen was saying at the end. Just because Jordan doesn't score 40 points doesn't mean he was "off" his game. No matter how many points you got, you can't win without defense and finding open guys. Jordan ALWAYS did that. Lebron scored a lot of points against the Spurs this year, but still got his ass whipped.

      @dbreiden83080 9 лет назад +8

      JSwanKilowJ I think some people to this day look at Scottie's numbers and because his points don't WOW you, they just think Jordan carried him. What they don't get is Scottie was the perfect player to win titles with Jordan. Scottie was one of the greatest and most versatile defenders of all time. He was a good rebounder, and while not a volume scorer he could do it, in a variety of ways. Scottie did not need the ball all time to score, if he needed that he and Jordan would not have clicked like they did as team-mates. Jordan needed an extremely well rounded, team oriented player to be his side-kick and that was Pippen.. Scottie could drop 25 on any night, but even if he only dropped 10, he could shut down the best offensive player on the other team and grab 10 boards.. Ask Jordan how valuable Scottie was, and he has never wavered on giving Scottie his due..

    • @JSwanKilowJ
      @JSwanKilowJ 9 лет назад +5

      dbreiden83080 amen. you are EXACTLY right. some people just want to hate Pippen and discredit him so they can mythologize Jordan even more. Skip Bayless is probably the biggest perpetrator of this. his old senile ass is so deluded that he really believes Jordan did everything on his own. he has convinced himself that Scottie Pippen did nothing to contribute to the Bulls' success. and there are so many many others that are so caught up in Jordan's greatness that they fall into that pattern of thinking. they like to bring up how Scottie was inefficient and a poor scorer in the later half of the Bulls' run. but they conveniently forget that he was battling serious injuries from head to toe. his back injuries hindered his lateral movement and jumping ability. he had wrist injuries that effected his shooting, and he had ankle injuries that effected his elevation and explosiveness. when Jordan had injuries like that in the early 90s, he was inefficient as well. but they also conveniently forget that fact too. you just can't win with certain people. they want so desperately to believe Michael Jordan was this benevolent entity, a god among mortals that could decide outcomes with a wave of his hand. you can't get through to them, even with facts.

    The mistake that people make about Pippen is they don’t realize he could have done anything on that court he wanted to and no one could do a dam thing about it. He didn’t care about filling up stat sheets with points. He could have easily averaged 26-27 pts a game when Micheal left he just didn’t care as much about it. When the media,players or anyone else talked shit about Pip he made it a point to shut them up. The notion that Jordan made anyone better is rediculous. Jordan is a one man wrecking crew who had the ultimate compliment player and fools just don’t know how dam good Scottie Pippen was.

      11 years too late, but Lol what a dumb comment that is. Jordan was head and shoulders above Pippen,which is not a knock on Pip. Jordan was the leader,the guy scoring 33+ppg, the guy drawing double teams and the one taking over the 4th quarters. This 1993 ECF was the best playoff series of Pippen's career, but in no playoff run was Pippen the better player. There is nothing wrong with being the sidekick and that's what Pippen was. Jordan was the main reason they won 6 rings, but that doesn't mean he did it by himself.

  • @Amir883

    Basketball is a team game. Despite MJ's abilities, he didn't win any championships until he was on a well balanced team. Jordan needed someone to help with the scoring load while playing solid perimeter defense. That's Pippen. He also needed a low post defender and rebounder. That's Grant (and later Rodman). If you notice the only year the Bulls didn't win with a Prime Pippen and a Prime Jordan was the 94-95 season when they were without a solid 4 man.

    How I remember this. I was on a plane to SFO from ORD. When we got on the plane, I think it was toward the end of the third quarter. I asked the flight attendant to ask the captain to keep us updated on the score. She said many people have already asked that. 😂. The captain came on the PA and said I have bad news for some of you, there was a pause, Knicks fans. And of course, the Bulls won the game. When we were getting off the plane I think the captain for the updates. This was on America West and we were changing plans in Phoenix. The captain said “go Suns” and I told him “not this year.“ 😂😂

    I love the fact that after Jordan's altercation with Doc Rivers he plays within the flow of the offense instead of trying to make it about himself: he comes up with the steal, PASSES it to Pippen and then SETS THE PICK to free up Pippen for his 3. Perfect blend of leadership and selflessness. Lebron doesn't quite have the leadership in the clutch (though hopefully that changes come this June) and Kobe doesn't have the selflessness. That play shows why Jordan is still the best.

      No he didn't, lets get carried away here. MJ's shooting percentage was low because of a bad wrist and ankle but he still had a solid series. MJ averaged 32-7-6-2-1 and only 2 TO as well the only down side was 40% shooting because he couldn't shoot as well especially early in the series.

    • @Maal7432
      @Maal7432 8 лет назад +2

      @zmoneytmnt 8 лет назад +3

      jmaal2345 Jordan some awful games and he had some GREAT games to. Overall no doubt MJ had a better series. just look at the numbers.
      Michael Jordan 1993 ECF
      32ppg-7rpg-6apg-2spg-1bpg 40%
      Scootie Pippen 1993 ECF
      22ppg-7rpg-4apg-2spg 51%
      Yes Pippen had a higher shooting percentage but that is the only thing he did better than MJ in. MJ beat him or tied him in every other statistical category even blocks

      +Young Rain Okay, so I don't wanna hear no more about LeBron not playing well cuz of FG%, if that's the case. Pippen played better defense in that series too. He was balling. Give him his credit. Dude just had a better series.

      jmaal2345 LOL you are obviously a LeBron fan trying to take away from Jordan considering you defended him even tho I never mentioned LeBron but anyway no Pippen didn't play better defense than Jordan. There's no doubt about it that Pippen was the hero of this series. He made all the big shots, played his typical all world defense, and averaged 22ppg on great efficiency this entire series. Besides that 54 point explosion Jordan was horrendous shooting wise. He definitely was setting others up but he was basically taking as many shots as he was averaging points. Scottie was the hero of this series that's for sure.

    The Knicks were a better team in 1993 than 1992. They were better defensively, offensively, and won more games. They had home court advantage in the East Playoffs in 1993, not so in 1992. They made it all the way to the Conference Finals in 93, while only getting to Semifinals in 92. My point is - Xavier McDaniel does not guarantee the Knicks winning over Chicago if NY stays with him as opposed to acquiring Charles Smith. In the final moments of game 5 of the ECF's in 1993, Smith got stopped by great defense on the part of the Bulls and the Knicks got stopped by a better team. Michael left for a couple of years and the door was wide open for the Knicks to win it. They didn't.

      Which is the sad part. They blew the 94 Finals as the Spring of 94 as they said it here when the Rangers won, so we hoped the Knicks won Game 7 against the Rockets. Definitely do agree that 92-93 Knicks was the best Knick team of that decade.
