It's hard to distinguish the vocals from the original song. This is just the purest form of sonic art I've experienced lately. Incredible!
Whoever programmed the drum loop parts did a fawkin good job. The mere idea of changing out half of Cunninghams drum track is nuts, crazy...until you hear what you guys did. Its perfect.

I feel you. This song came out when i was ateen and to me it is the best song ever written. I didn't think it could be any better. The anix does an amazing job. The way it starts off with his own sound and slowly goes more toward the original at the end is so cool.

Actually I feel you. This sounds super modern and polished, which isn't a bad thing, but there's just some things that the original does better by leaps and bounds: the drum sound, the rawness in Chino's vocals, and the subtle audio manipulation effects in the breakdown from Frank
I believe the point of the cover isn't to surpass the original at all. I see it more as the covering artist paying respect to the original band. I love both versions equally and both have their own advantages
Please realize Deftones are my favorite band, and Chino my favorite vocalist. There is no way on earth to out do the original, that was not the point. My reason for doing this is to show my fans where the inspiration for my music started from, over 20 years ago. It allows them to clearly see the inspiration and similarity, in all of my music. It’s much easier letting people hear, than trying to explain in interviews or text. Originally I recorded this entirely electronic, no guitar or live drums, but changed it as it felt disrespectful to change the vibe from the original so much. This is simply my way to pay respect to the Deftones for inspiring me for over two decades 👍
