Before LA was the entertainment capital of the world, Carl Laemmle (the founder of Universal Studios) commissioned this theater. It may now sit in ruins, but it has a story that everyone needs to hear. Enjoy the new documentary, and do get a technical, behind the scenes look (and to learn some new video/film tricks) visit thecomputerclan.com/abandoned
This is such a cool video. I live in Hatley Wisconsin and it is super cool to see that you are trying to restore this theater. I hope you get the funding you need.
So well done and very engaging! I sure wish you the best on this worthy project. My old eyes got misty on this one...both historical and emotional, this piece. THANKS for sharing.
Just got around to watching this now, and honestly great job. I'm going to be going to school for video production (not necessarily filmmaking) and I thought it was really well produced. More people need to see this.
Been in Kenosha for 27 years took some photoshoots in that building and my brothers music video in that place I know the guy to get in he showed me around it’s amazing and beautiful place
Rochester, MN has a theater in this style - The Chateau. It was built in 1927 as a vaudeville house, then was remodeled and converted into a Barnes & Noble. Here’s a Wikipedia article: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chateau_Theatre
I grew up in Kenosha and in about 1983 when I was 12 there was a show there with about 4 heavy metal bands but the residents from the Dayton Hotel didnt deal with it very well so that was it. Also I lived in those apartments for the summer of 89 then left for college.
Thanks for doing a video on my city Ken. Back when people knew Kenosha for things other than protests, riots, and Kyle Rittenhouse... From one RUclipsr (who currently lives in Kenosha) to another, I should get more involved in this.

That is super-cool. And now I see that the B&N closed anyway.
