The second biggest cause of pancreatitis is alcohol, so you should stay away from alcohol. As for food, the more diverse the food is, the better for the whole body.
My fecal elastase test indicated severe pancreatic insufficiency yet an ultrasound and CT scan of my abdomen does not show anything unusual with my pancreas. I also have chronic low neutrophils and white blood cell counts which is indicative of issues with my spleen but it also appears normal. at any rate I have the symptoms not sure of an MRI would show anything different I did have 2 upper GIs and a colonoscopy last 3 years none of which showed anything.
I have just been recently diagnosed with EPI exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. frankly I suspect I've had it my whole life you can be born with this Don't immediately assume you're at fault because you've had a drink or two in your lifetime. I pretty much have had a stomach pain my entire life as a child I failed to thrive I didn't grow properly I was very tiny Over the years I was diagnosed with IBS and GERD and lactose intolerance osteoporosis etc etc And finally at age 52 a doctor ordered the right test The fecal elastase test that is what anybody needs to determine that your pancreas is not functioning properly. as well as blood test to check your amalayse and your lipase. etc. I'm waiting to see the GI again hopefullying to get PERT prescribed. (digestive enzymes). Good luck to everyone out there with this.
I've been unable to eat... I've lost 22lbs in 6 days. I've been vomiting traces of blood. I'm in excruciating pain... I need relief ASAP!!! Any advice on what to do to cope with the pain?
you specifically want a fecal elastase test done. this is a different test than a stool fat test. I've been sick for years. finally a doctor ordered the right test. That's the fecal elastase test. I have severe pancreatic insufficiency. waiting to see the GI doctor again whom I've seen before. hopefully get PERT (digestive enzymes) prescribed. I also have irritable bowel syndrome diagnosed with that my early twenties. And I have GERD diagnosing last 5 years. lactose intolerance. and follow my own version of the low FODMAP diet to reduce symptoms for all of my issues. Good luck to everyone out there with this.
Tanung lang po nagsusuka rin po ba kayu though I'm not drinking alcohol dipo ako umiinum at hindi rin mahilig sa maasim, kapag umatake po nagsusuka ako non stop 24 hours kahit wala na maisuka nasusuka pa rin kahit laway lang, tapos subra sakit parang menheartburn at me nakabara sa lalamunan? Possible daw acute pancreatitis ako sabi ni doc kaya refr ako for egd colonoscopy
Very informative video. It helped me diagnose my abdominal pain induced due prolonged alcoholism. I'll see the right doctor now. Thank you.

What tests can be done to check the pancreas?
Ultrasound was used on my pancreas
