Really...I was driving through cricketh about a month ago and pointed out to my daughter all the lovely lay-bys that campervans were using....now they can't.. what a pity
Got to love the Old Bay Window camper. That is the worrying thing about our kind of Motorhome, is if you even are unlucky enough to be in a bad accident is the fact that they are built like a house of cards. Most of us will have seen the mess a caravan makes when they go over at speed, and ours are built in a similar manor. It is good that they family survived. Probably put them off for life. There is a lot to be said if you can facing into the wind. We had to pay for water and Waste at Mallaig as we were off grid on a riding school for a few nights, and I think it was about £5-6 which wasn't too bad. I can't remember now the cost of the council car park for the time we were parked they to be out of the way during the day.
@@BigRedEd Fingers don't always hit the right keys on my keyboard or at all. Ageing and Arthritis has taken it toll on my hands. Plus always forgetting to re read and correct any mistakes I make, doesn't help either.
@@motorhomenews It certainly does as they were not made as modern cars are. Bags more character though. Got to love the keep fit windows, push buttons and sliders to control them. Easy to work on if mechanical minded. On another point. Have you noticed that Herman is a little green this year on the roof? Nessa had a lovely coat of algae on her roof rear and sides. Even had to really work hard to remove a lot of black spots from the cab roof. More there than on the rest of the roof for some reason. Not had them before. Might have been made worse from being parked up in the garage or the shear amount of rain we have seen this year.
I think it is probably to do with creating required fire breaks, I know on a lot of campsites they state there has to be a certain number of metres between vehicles/caravans pitched. Does look like they've gone a little overboard though.
@@n1ckyr930 I'm quite happy with the way the continentals do it - slightly wider car park slots with just enough space to enable you to walk round the van. If it's only an overnight stop you really don't need as much space as you would for an extended stay on a campsite.
It may be worth pointing out that UK planning legislation does not include "aire" or motorhome stop, any vehicle designed or adapted for sleeping is a caravan, (caravans act) and any place designated for their occupation is a caravan site, that is why (I assume) fire safety spacing is a legal ,defined, minimum, that is presumably the measurement used.
@junehall2177 That makes a lot of sense as to why they may have done it June. Maybe they will make a little tweak to the law in the future to avoid that being necessary for motorhome only spots. I know I've seen overnight parking spots for motorhomes which don't have as much space but I guess as they are just a car park without any facilities they are probably treated a little differently in law.
obviously an id buzz, according to the EVangelists, would do 2 million miles. Just think of the McDonalds and Starbucks that would be consumed, to charge, to do that many miles lol.

Im from The Netherlands. I went to Wales once and will NEVER return due to the hatred of Campervans…….
Sorry to hear that, @dudeleboski2692. It's not everywhere. You'll find it's individuals rather than whole communities

Yeah, I do love the bay window and splitties, @Simon_W74 . The trouble is the UK weather eats them for breakfast 🤣🤣

No, I've not noticed. We get the algae each year
did anyone tell them they cant park there next to the river. did it start after that.
No idea, @user-lk6gm5lx1y
One less to clutter the roads up 😂
Thanks for commenting, @alexrobinson2281. I hoped you enjoyed the video
One-handed clap to Criccieth council but why all the yellow paint hatching? You could fit in double the number of vans without it.

@vatsmith8759 yeh I agree, I think leaving that much space is going way too overboard.

Thanks for commenting, @stevezodiac491 but I'm not sure what you mean by McD and Starbucks!
