    Did your sheetmetal have the little studs sticking out to attach them? I just replaced my t top sheetmetal with a new header plate and the header plate doesn't have the studs to mount the clip to.

      Yes, mine has the little studs to slip the clip onto then the trim snaps over them.

    Hey brother I love your el co. I have a question about the powder coating you had done. Is there a certain black you had done or is it just black powder coat. Not sure if there are more than one color or kind of black. Thanks

    • @jeepadventures909
      @jeepadventures909  3 года назад

      Yes. It's called semi gloss black. If you have it done make sure they use a good quality powder that has good UV protection. Dupont or cardinal make good powder. Just ask the shop who does it to use a good brand. If you're in socal my good friend owns Duracoat powder coating in Ontario California. He's who does all my powder coating. Ask for Tony.

      @@jeepadventures909 ok cool, yes I live in California as well. I have one more question how do I get the trim off of the windows? The bottom one that attach to the door and window and the small one by the window when it's rolled up? I'm lost on how to remove them two

    • @jeepadventures909
      @jeepadventures909  3 года назад +1

      If you're talking about the ones above the window. There are phillips head screws kinda hidden under the rubber. Once removed it will pull off. The trim around the front and rear windows will need a tool. Heres a link. www.amazon.com/dp/B00825PRXU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_J8X8T9BDT2KC6W442VSE

    Can you show how to install the side moldings that cover the two tone paint and what kind of clips to use on a "G" body El Camino ?

    • @jeepadventures909
      @jeepadventures909  4 года назад

      I'd love to, let me find a friend that has a elcamino with side mouldings and I'll make a video for you. It may take a couple weeks but I think the guy from @classicGbodygarage might have a video of it already. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll do it for you.

    I bought the same plastic clips for my Buick GN and wouldn't clip either; trim kept popping off..urghhhh
    But once I shaved/cut off the little extra plastic piece, it clips like its suppose to. Kinda of hard to explain the "extra" piece but if you install a clip, it's the little piece that's between the body and clip, hope this helps anyone else installing these little things.

      I tried every possible way to get them to work lol. These metal ones are the best I've used and easy to install. They will never rot and break like the plastic ones do. But if you got them to work you must be some kind of unnatural being Haha.
