I just purchased the Scag 30” came factory with the turn easy from wheels. It has just 30 minutes on the unit newest model built 6/2022. $2.700 plus tax. The 30 minutes on really nice lawn not as good cut as I wanted. Mower seems like 1970s vintage after looking it over. I think I made a mistake on this purchase. If I could get my money back I would but can’t. Hopefully tomorrow I have better luck. Thank You
Nick sorry of your feelings on the mower I sold mine and bought the 30” toro much lighter, I just sold my vride ll account to many problems I took it to the shop for the 6th time with only 230 hours on it. I just bought a Wright 61 x, since we put a couple hundred hours on it since ours has been in the shop, I hope tomorrow goes better for you.
i used one today and was impressed with the cut... what i dont like is how quickly the propel engages its easy to have the front lift... imo this mower is too back heavy
I got the time master 3 months ago for $850 and thing was a game changer for small lawns. Cuts pretty well, although not nearly as good the the sc30 and it bags super well too. I use it to mulch hedge clicking and with 2-3 passes you couldn’t tell they were there. Only complaints are the sometimes weak self propulsion on steep hills, slow cutting speed, and small gas tank. I just wonder how good the scag is with the 224 command pro. Thing looks like a beast.
I would demo one I think moving up from a 22 it is great for that. But don’t trade your smaller mower there will still be a need for it in small areas I think this mower is great but in a small area it’s to much
Don't do it. 220lbs will beat you up on small lawns with tight spots. Depending on your contracts you may look at the YBravo Gen II 25. Pure commercial mower $1399 but its only 25" cut but man o man I love mine.
I sold it after having a couple hours on it, I like the personal pace better now I have a 40" Toro so I hardly use the 30" although the 30" Toro loads the deck in tall grass kind of a pain luckily I barely use it.
@@mysarisarilife5184 its not really the power it is the design of the mower. it tends to just bend it over instead of cut it clean. ive always had to perform 2-3 passes on overgrown ryegrass even with a wright stander or walker.
Hi mate, I’m putting a Facebook video together of this mower for a new channel of mine. Do you mind if I use some of your footage? I’ll have a watermark of your channel name attributing the footage to you. Let me know 👍
Some BS responses to the question concerning weight. Toro Weight 173 to 197. Scag 213 to 220. Definitely a heavier machine, not a lot heavier or anywhere near double. If you’ve been using a light 21” mower, both machines are a great deal heavier and will be a change for the operator. The benefit of the weight is the machine is more stable (better cut) as it’s riding on ground vs. pushing against grass.
I tested this mower the other day at my dealer. The reason I didn’t buy was the ergonomics of the handles. My wrists were over flexed the whole time making it so uncomfortable. Do you have this issue?
That’s a Scagg? I have a Scagg but a riding it’s lagging one thing more balls you shouldn’t have to go over that twice even though what he’s cutting through anyway that’s my thoughts
I was happy with the way it held the ground straight lines but it is very heavy I hardly used it except for small fenced areas the problem was they were always a 1/4 mile from the truck so we transport via stand on mower I switched to the toro 30” being approximately 70 lbs lighter and it seems to work well for us the front casters wouldn’t benefit us much, it’s more about transport for our work, thank you for the reply
I don’t recommend this mower it has so much manufacture issues I regret the $2500 that I invest into this machine I wish I bought the exmark or toro Btw the good thing in this mower is the wheels adjustment
@@williegeorge905 I’m not saying they don’t because I’ve used them and they do lay excellent stripes. I’m just saying why are you commenting on a video about a mower you don’t even like?? Like if you don’t like the mower than don’t comment about it. Like it’s all personal preference really. And besides, that grass was tall so it’s gonna take a few passes.

Great video man. You wanted my subscription. Would love more videos on the mower. Even just straight mowing. Also how much did it cost? Including taxs

Not sure of cost I bought this as well as other equipment I’ll look for the paperwork, I’ll try to post more videos and info soon thank you
Did you take the baffles out on this cut?
Got to love the GT Stripe that is left when you walk too fast with a twin blade
GT?
Really on the fence about buying one of these. The new one has casters up front. The weight 250 lb is only thing I don’t like.

Nice
Why is it leaving center stripes?
Not sure
Is it me or when you first start mowing it doesn't cut that great,I mean scag is top notch.
Lol haven’t noticed still wondering how I feel about the mower itself
Noticed it too, think its because he cranked up the deck to max height, so he isnt cutting the grass at the base.
I noticed a mohawk sometimes

With grass this high the first pass needs to be high.
this was just an was just an easement to show what it would do under those conditions
Love that machine. But you oughta get som better blades I think
I try this mower for a week and it just to much heavier to me
Yes it it very heavy
that rye grass is the biggest pia when you let it get too tall. i have never seen a mower that can cut through tall ryegrass in one pass.
Sickle bar mower, or a flail mower would most likely do a much better 1 pass cut than any rotary mower out there.

I purchased this mower from a guy that only put 4 hours on it. The mower is heavy but, i love it so far.
This is what I wanted to see. Great video. Scag 30 going through tall grass. Is it heavy to operate? Is heavier than toro turfmaster?
Alot
Way heavier. Probably twice the weight.
