I Have 17Tb Backed up - Took months at first but I wouldn't be without it now. I have external drives and I set aside an hour each month to plug them in and keep them backed up.
This is a timely review of Backblaze. I have everything in Google Drive synced to my PC, plus a Windows 7 backup and Windows 11 File history. I can't see any circumstance where Backblaze is useful.
I've used Backblaze for years for my PC. I just shifted over to a Mac with only 1TB of internal storage, so I had to attach two 4TB hard drives (one for data, one for Time Machine). I'm not a techie so it took me hours on Google and Backblaze to figure out how to migrate my photos to the Mac Mini's external HD without needing to install a second user on that HD. It turns out that the Mac can read an NTFS drive, so I ordered an HD from Backblaze, and I'll attach it to the Mini and bring over my photos and music and documents. The HD will probably get here next week. When I return it to Backblaze, the cost of $289 will be refunded.
I want to use them but concerned if one of my many external drives dies and I don’t notice it right away. Will that drive get deleted from the backup without notification to me? It would be great if I’m notified so that I can replace the drive with the current most recent backup.
