I'm like you, haven't used NV since 1999 maybe in the Marine Corps. All I remember is barely seeing some Recon Marines training in the dark and yelling, "Halt! Who goes there!?!" Some Recon Marine announced who he was and that was that.
Great ! I bet your enjoying that NOD. I had to smile when you were talking about your time in the Marine corp. Using the AN/PVS4 . So to date myself I used the AN/PVS2 in the early 80's . I was in an army infantry unit and that damn clunky thing was heavier that my rifle, but very cool at the time !!! GEN 1 devise. Pun intended it's the difference between night and day Gen1-Gen 3. Just ordered last week from USNV, apparently went up but getting it Monday 3 day select delivery. Got the Turn Key Kit Gen III WP Hand Selected with Fast helmet, Rhino Mount and DIR-One IR Laser for my rifle all insured shipping $4850. I also ordered the Tor Mini Pistol Laser for my Glock which has great reviews TNVC on Sale $115 + tax and shipping. I've had a Thermal Image Scope for a year but I'm thinking I should've got the NV's first, anyway got them both now.

Didnt know they had an ops core option so i ended up with a team wendy...but i did call them up and we built the kit over the phone..so much fun bein a moon goon . Cheers
I got the Team Wendy exfil and love it. My brother has a Hard Hat Veterans. It’s about $100 cheaper and it’s just as well made and comfortable if you don’t mind waiting 3-4 weeks
USNV isn't the most popular dealer right now for a lot of reasons. Pretty good review though. Really liked that you showed photo examples of what you were issued before.
That's because I don't know how to use imovie to put the pics in video .....I figured that was just as good!

The tor mini is a good laser for your nv super compact for your rifle or handgun

I got almost the same exact kit, but mine is the WP pvs14 with photonis tube. To get the color helmet you want, you have to type it in the "notes" when ordering. I did not get the patches or the weight on mine tho. And even worse.... the NVG worked for a whole 2 minutes then stopped working. The guys at US night vision were real cool tho, immediately sent me a return pkg slip. So I have to send it back, they think it is an electrical issue. Talk about a buzz kill... I should be running around my woods right now lol. Hopefully they fix it quickly!!! Can't wait to use it.
Oh also, do not use alkaline batteries. Use lithium. They are better and have less of a tendency of leaking. They sent alkaline batteries with the kit for some reason.
I got mine from NVG (night vision guys) and my kit was identical to yours but I didn't get a helmet... mine is a gen 3 white phosphorus tube ... battery same logo on the paper ...
