This is actually the 11th song of this concert. 23 songs in all, and all are worth reacting to, as I'm sure you figured out with Dust to Dust/Dull Knives (same concert). Those were songs 7 & 8 of the concert. If you look at the thumbnails for this concert's videos, they have little numbers in the bottom right corner which tell you what order they were played. Go check out song #1 'Disciple' - you'll love it!
Originally done with Alessia Cara for the Metallica Blacklist album; that album is a tribute to the 30th anniversary of the Metallica black album. Done in 10 days in March 2021. Because Alessia's name starts with A and the Enter Sandman covers were at the beginning of the album, this version was first on the album. The backing vocals in this version are from Alessia on a track. Fun fact: The guitar Dany is playing is a custom Gibson Explorer gifted to her by Lzzy Hale of Halestorm. It was presented to Dany mid show when TW was opening for Halestorm.
I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Dany and the strings very sweetly puts you to bed, then rouses the troops, shares a little prayer, the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the Sandman tale told as a haunting, dark lullaby. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one. I also count myself very fortunate to have been one of the 8000 in the Pepsi Center that night in Mexico City to hear this live. Wow. What a performance.
10 years ago these three young sisters did a faithful cover of Enter Sandman in their basement for their grandparents. They were 9, 12 and 14 years old. When they got older Metallica instructed The Warning and Canadian singer Alessia Cara to rework Enter Sandman together. To keep the lyrics, but turn the song upside down, inside out, make the song their own. To see the original and appreciate the reworking of Enter Sandman, look for the official music video where Alessia and The Warning had to work separately because of the pandemic. When restrictions were over Alessia and The Warning had one chance to appear together live on stage. Now they perform the song with only Alessia’s haunting wail as a prerecorded background track. Look for the Teatro Metropolitan for that epic performance without strings. Alessia and The Warning have remained friends. Dany taking the time to mention Alessia as part of the song whenever they perform Enter Sandman live.
The backing track is from Canadian artist Alessia Cara, they did collab with her, the song is in the 30th anniversary of the BA. She is in the music video even them being in their own country at the time. It was done around the covid times.
Great reaction. Now listen to Enter Sandman when they were kids, which is true to Metallicas version. The backing track is Alesia Caras voice who collaborated with them, check out that official video of Enter Sandman with the Warning.
I basically never knew The Warning even existed until about 2 weeks ago. Some suggestion about their 10th anniversary of covering Enter Sandman popped up. So I watched. But barely remember seeing it 10 years ago. (oops) Its amazing how much they've grown and matured since then. And I'm totally blown away by how 'full' their music sounds. I realize they have sound engineers, some backing track, etc. But you can't tell me either of these 3 sisters lacks skill, talent or ferocity.✌
Great reaction Ratty. Although it looked like their intro song, it was actually immediately after Pau's solo performance of her song Breathe, played on the piano (worth a reaction i might add). In the early seconds of this video you can see the stagehands moving the piano off to the left. The string arrangement was done by producer/composer David Garza, and played by a 10 pc all female group from a Monterrey music school.
They opened with Disciple off the Error LP. Enter Sandman was #11 on the set list, and the all female 10 pc string section was from their hometown of Monterrey. They also joined Pau on BlackHoles 2 songs prior to ES. All 3 of them like to sing along thru the songs, even if they aren't actually singing, and it messes with new reactors. They just get into it that much. Just so you know, this is the 4th version of this song for them. 2014, 2021 w/AC, 2022 Teatro, & 2023 Pepsi Center.
Actually there's a fifth version but only fan-cam footage is available. Alessia Cara joined TW during an LA show, the only time she performed the song live with DPA.
Great reaction! This is song 11 on the show, the opener is DISCIPLE, check it out for your next reaction?! The vocals you hear is Alessia Cara, backing track (check the official mv) Their true cover of Enter Sandman in 2014, age 9, 12 and 14, went viral - real talent at early age!
The "woha awoawoh's" is a backing track of Alisia Cara, a Canadian singer who appears on the original recorded version that appears on Metallica's Black List album (30 year tribute since the release of the Black Album). The original reimagined version from the Warning and Alisia Cara, didn't have the string section - the addition of strings was for this, which was their 10 year anniversary concert. For a great performance without the strings - check out Teatro Metropolitan CDMX version! Overall though, I think they did a fantastic cover of this classic rock song. They really did 're-imagine' the song and made it their own.
Thanks Ratty, happy to see you found the Warning Rabbit hole...The opening song is "Disciple" (Error Album) and this one is the 11th song in the setlist. Metallica fan here for decades but really like what the Ladies did with this re-imagined cover....simply fantastic as is the Teatro Met concert version as well. Cheers.
Queens of Rock. Not their opener, but they just concluded 2 piano led songs by Pau, concluded the strings with ES, we were all blown away by how great it was produced. Audience were nuts, 8000+, all there for The Warning. It was beautiful.
reimagined *Enter Sandman* DPA/TW and Alessia Cara certainly understood the assignment! Alessia Cara is a Grammy winning Canadian Pop and R&B singer... they had 10 days to rip this rendition of *Enter Sandman* from the ether and make it a darker, more eerie, and a more haunting lullaby than the original metal version... they made the deadline and they made an OMV for it to boot! this reimagining of *Enter Sandman* was done because they, and many other artists from numerous genres, were invited by Metallica to take one of the songs from the original _"Black"_ album, keep the lyrics and change it up how ever you like... play it backwards, upside down, whatever... this was all for the 30th anniversary of the _"Black"_ album... all the submissions from 50someodd artists were put on the 2021 _"The Metallica Blacklist"_ album... the proceeds from the album sales are split 50/50 with half going to Metallica's "All Within My Hands Foundation" and the other half being donated to a charity of the participating artists' choice. in the OMV, Dany (guitar) and Alessia share the lead vocals until they are in the three doorways when Dany takes over and Alessia does more of the background oooohs and aaaahs... the version they play in concert has Dany doing the vocals with a backing track of Alessia's ohhhs and ahhhs... of course Ale (bass) and Pau (drums) join in with their angelic harmonies in both... this is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic original... the performances at their "Big 3" 10th Anniversary shows, in Oct 2023, are astounding with the 10-piece string section from Monterrey, DPA/TW's home town... the string section came out to join Pau on her solo keyboard performance of *Black Holes* and stayed for *Enter Sandman* ... i like their lead-in to ES while the stage was being cleared of the piano and other equipment from Pau's solo performance... this 60+ year old rocker loves this reimagining of *Enter Sandman* by TW and Alessia and it gets a lot more airtime these days 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
This performance of "Enter Sandman" by The Warning was special with the addition of a string ensemble, which is not how it’s usually performed live. Metallica asked The Warning to cover the iconic track in collaboration with Canadian pop singer Alessia Cara for "The Metallica Blacklist" album, celebrating the 30th anniversary of "The Black Album" in 2021. According to Lars Ulrich, they told all the bands involved, "Pick a song. Do what you want with it. If you want to play it backwards or turn it on its head, we respect and appreciate it." The collaboration between The Warning and Alessia came together in just 10 days. Producer Matt Squire flew to Monterrey to work with the band directly, while Alessia recorded her parts remotely from Canada due to COVID restrictions. The Warning approached the project with the goal of making the song uniquely theirs. They removed the original riff, incorporated a "creepy lullaby" vibe, and emphasized the haunting "Hush Little Baby" section, with Alessia’s harmonies adding an ethereal layer to the arrangement. The official music video features Alessia as a projection since she couldn’t travel to Mexico due to COVID restrictions. During live performances of the song, when Alessia is not present, her "whoa, whoa" vocals are included on the backing track to maintain the collaborative elements of the arrangement. The Warning’s history with "Enter Sandman" dates back to 2014, when Dany was 14, Pau was 12, and Ale was just 9. They recorded a straightforward cover of the song and uploaded it to RUclips because the file was too large to email to their family. That video went viral and now has over 26 million views. Metallica's guitarist Kirk Hammett even tweeted, "the drummer kicks maximum ass!" The band performed their version of the song live with Alessia once as a special one-time event. Another memorable performance, without the string section, was at Teatro Metropolitan in 2022.
I love to hear reactors who are not very familiar with their history. Because the reaction is so authentic (like yours) !!!!!. Dany performs the solo in excellent fashion in their original cover many years ago, which prompted Metallica to invite them to cover it officially for the Blacklist album (Pau's drumming was a major factor) . Unbelievable !! 🤟🎸🥁🎻🎸🤟
Watch their straight cover of "Enter Sandman" from 11 years ago when they were TINY! Little Ale is only 9... dwarfed by her 3/4 scale bass she used at the time. It's crazy... and if you crave a solo, Dany delivers... even at 14 years old. It's both amazing and adorable watching their talent even at that age.
Go back to their 2014 cover of Enter Sandman for the guitar solo. Dany slayed it. She was 14, Pau was 12, and Ale` was 9 years old. To date, it's their most viewed RUclips video at 25+ million views and what kick-started their career. 🤘☺️
Fans of the Warning have specific days to celebrate the girls. Friday is Dany day, Saturday is Pau Day and Sunday is Ale day, Monday is their moms day Mony (Monica) Monday.
So, you watched this and missed the solo? Now you have to watch the video that launched their careers as a band back in 2014. They covered Enter Sandman when Dany was 14, Pau 12 and Ale 9 and it went viral. The video has 26 million views and is on their channel…filmed live complete with Dany shredding the solo. They got props from Metallica.
The Warning Enter Sandman- There are 4 version…. and you just saw the 4th. In 2014 these 3 little girls from Mexico made a video to send to their grandparents to show them how they have progress in their music skills. The video was too big to just email so their dad posted it on RUclips and sent the grandparents the link. It went viral and was seen by Metallica (they gave a shout-out saying “That drummer kicks maximum ass!”). It was also seen my Ellen DeGeneres (prompting her to get them on her show in 2015). It has since garnered well over 25 million views. This is the 2014 version of Enter Sandman: ruclips.net/video/1boUYB9LFJY/видео.html In 2021 Metallica asked 53 artists to take any of the 12 iconic songs from their Black album and do a cover (any way they wanted to) for their Black List album, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Black album. Alessia Cara (Canadian pop star) was asked to participate but had no idea what to do. Because she shares the same management group as The Warning, she contacted them for help. It was difficult to do as Alessia was in Canada and The Warning were in Mexico and travel with COVID was not happening. They made it work and developed/recorded this completely re-imagined song in one week. They created the music video with the same logistical restrictions. Because of that you will see that Alessia appears as a projection on the wall in the video as she was not there. It was recorded in an abandoned textile mill outside of Monterrey, Mexico. Here is the official music video: ruclips.net/video/9tKQgesCcTc/видео.html When The Warning sings this in live concerts this is the version they do with Alessia Cara’s background vocals: ruclips.net/video/vg9vNE7gm0I/видео.html For The Warning’s 10th anniversary concert they created this extra special version of Enter Sandman: ruclips.net/video/-stoqv5W8RM/видео.html
This is an excellent version especially with the string section. I actually like the version from Teatro Metropolitan a little better. Its cleaner and a little more dramatic in the break down. They are both fantastic. To my knowledge, they have never opened with this. They typically open with Z or Disciple.
I'm sure what you hear is Alessia Cara track. She was the original collaborator when they recorded for Metallica's Black Album Tribute. When they started playing it live they retain Alessia's original vocal
@@RattyReacts There is a small number in the bottom right corner of the Pepsi Center videos that shows where in the set list the song was played. This was song #11 out of 23 and as @The UnderdogDe said, the two previous songs featured just drummer Pau on the piano. You can actually see them moving the piano off the stage to the left when the lights first come on in this video.
@@TheUnderdogDeYes that is a another side of the band, Pau bares her heart on Breathe and Black Holes. Dany will also pull your heart strings with “When I’m Alone” written when she was at a summer music course at Berkeley college of music in Boston with her sisters and she was homesick.
Not the start of the concert, but after a short break in the middle of the concert. The studio version had lead vocals by Alessia Cara. She provided a vocal track doing the ooo-ahh-ooo stuff for the Warning to use in live performances
The solo simply would not have fit in this version of the song, and they do not play solos unless they fit. What they add to the song is the vocal harmonies and the "hush little baby" buildup, which are much more elements of their core style. And yes, when they played the main riff at the end, it was not identical to the original.
When Metallica approached The Warning, the one requirement was No Direct Cover. Use the Lyics. Metallica approved the Reimagined version, and it is the first song on The List Album.
TW are great performers live this song came after Pau played 2 amazing songs solo on piano. You should check out the opening song for this show Disciple it's crazy good this whole show is amazing. Great reaction thank you 🔥⚡⚡⚡

Hi Ratty The thing you were asking about the Uoo Uoo Uoo Uoo's it was Daniela the guitarrist doing it , you chould check that by seeing the music video of this exact song then you'll realice that was Dany doing that vocals, and you were right about them using baking tracks, but it was just in this spesific show. But really go and see the music video and keep on rocking 🤘🤘🤘
As already have been told, its a backing track with Alessia Cara. I recommend you to se the original MV. Then you will both hear and see Alessia. Its very good, and it will help you to understand where the backing track comes from.
NOTE - Alessia and Dany are switching main vocals (plus Pau in a short part) in this video. She is not only doing oooooo. And it is a really good video. With a totally different vibe than this. More sinister I would say. But not as rocky.
If you're a violin aficionado, you should check out a group called SubRosa, two electric violins, guitar, bass, drums. They sadly broke up a few years ago.
They did the song w/Alicia for Metallica's black list album. So her Vocals were added. This is the best version so far. Theatro Metropolitan one yr earlier is also great and different. No 2 performance is the same... doogie
If you're doing the songs from this concert at The Pepsi Center, the individual songs are numbered on their thumbnails. If you are using the entire concert version they're not. I think the backing vocals sound more like Pau than Alessa. They use mostly their own backing. This concert has become the gold standard for their live performances. As far as copyright goes, if the song is property of "The Warning", not just released on YT you should have no problem. Some songs released by the venue, i.e. Pol 'and Rock was claiming CR but is now releasing a few songs from their performance earlier in the year. Regardless, enjoy!! TWA🤟⚡🤟
Of course in their case they had a hit with Enter Sandman, Metallica heard and liked it and put it on one of their own recent albums, so they do have a certain unusual history with this song. This version is unique because it has orchestral background while they're playing exactly the same version they always play in the foreground. You might enjoy hearing their teatro metropolitan RUclips video of enter sandman without orchestra. Personally I think I like it better unguilded.
Paulina frequently mouths lyrics and such that she actually is not singing. What you were hearing is the backing track of Canadian vocalist Alessia Cara, she was the other artist that Metallica invited to do something for the Blacklist Album, and they have been using that track from the very beginning. The Warning makes no excuses for using backing tracks...I think they used them on 21st Century Blood, the difference with The Warning...they record all their backing tracks themselves.
Just a suggestion if u really want to get to know the Warning check out the Ted X ruclips.net/video/pj5ue3M-v6o/видео.htmlsi=X9gZBmPQWWXYrTJu . Its a 3 song set from thier 1st album 20th century blood at the ages of 16 , 14 and 11
also be sure to do their first TedX, too... it was the year before and not long after they had attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA for the summer session... that performance got them an invite for the next year... it is very unusual for invites to be given like that for TedX gatherings... seeing them in order also shows the difference a year makes... you can see their growth and the results of their hard work on their path... TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
Treat yourself to the performance of E. S. in the 2022 concert at the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX (i.e., Mexico City). where it's just the three ladies with a backing track of harmonies by Alessia Cara. It's not better or worse, just a little more stripped back and exposed by comparison. Then go look up the OMV which features Alessia's full contribution as well as a few other differences. Finally, check out their original cover from 10 - 11 years ago. A very good and faithful cover, especially considering their ages at the time. ruclips.net/video/vg9vNE7gm0I/видео.html ruclips.net/video/9tKQgesCcTc/видео.html ruclips.net/video/1boUYB9LFJY/видео.html
This is one of the few songs that I prefer their Teatro Metropolitan concert version more. The strings intro in this is amazing but I feel like the strings are slightly overdone at the end of the song.
how does Metallica play *Enter Sandman* live? perhaps this rendition from Russia back in 1991 will answer that question 👀 😜 😹 ruclips.net/video/_W7wqQwa-TU/видео.html TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

in the OMV, Dany (guitar) and Alessia share the lead vocals until they are in the three doorways when Dany takes over and Alessia does more of the background oooohs and aaaahs... the version they play in concert has Dany doing the vocals with a backing track of Alessia's ohhhs and ahhhs... of course Ale (bass) and Pau (drums) join in with their angelic harmonies in both... this is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic original...
the performances at their "Big 3" 10th Anniversary shows, in Oct 2023, are astounding with the 10-piece string section from Monterrey, DPA/TW's home town...
the string section came out to join Pau on her solo keyboard performance of *Black Holes* and stayed for *Enter Sandman* ... i like their lead-in to ES while the stage was being cleared of the piano and other equipment from Pau's solo performance...
this 60+ year old rocker loves this reimagining of *Enter Sandman* by TW and Alessia and it gets a lot more airtime these days 😹

If you want to play it backwards or turn it on its head, we respect and appreciate it."
The collaboration between The Warning and Alessia came together in just 10 days.
Metallica's guitarist Kirk Hammett even tweeted, "the drummer kicks maximum ass!"
The band performed their version of the song live with Alessia once as a special one-time event.
🤘☺️
I ones went to a Def Leppard concert in Frankfurt Germany and they opened with a cover of the song Action by The Sweet. Something very rare to happen.
The OMV they did for the Blacklist album is pretty awesome too. No strings and a few other differences from this performance.
This is the 2014 version of Enter Sandman: ruclips.net/video/1boUYB9LFJY/видео.html
In 2021 Metallica asked 53 artists to take any of the 12 iconic songs from their Black album and do a cover (any way they wanted to) for their Black List album, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Black album. Here is the official music video: ruclips.net/video/9tKQgesCcTc/видео.html

@@timnye718 now a 5th acoustic version!
@@v6jim2 you are right! Missed that.
The Warning made this song their own, I also love the combination of the organic sound of the violins and the distortion of the electric guitar.
This is an excellent version especially with the string section. I actually like the version from Teatro Metropolitan a little better. Its cleaner and a little more dramatic in the break down. They are both fantastic.
To my knowledge, they have never opened with this. They typically open with Z or Disciple.
!!!EXCELLENT¡¡¡. !!!The Warning = 100% 🔥🎵Ole Ole Ole Oleeee Warning Warning🎵¡¡¡. Greetings from Argentina.
The setlist for this concert included 20 songs, 1 X Anniversary video, and 2 encores. Enter Sandman was the 11th song in the set.
Para mi esta version sinfonica de Enter Sadman de The warning es Epica !! 👍🤘🤘🤘🤘🇧🇷🇧🇷⚠️⚡
The Warning!! 🔥 🤘
Fun thing, Metallica opened with Sweet Home Alabama when I saw them many years ago at Birmingham Alabama.
❤️⚡🤘
This was also the first time The Warning played with the orchestra. They collaborated but had not played together prior.
I'm sure what you hear is Alessia Cara track. She was the original collaborator when they recorded for Metallica's Black Album Tribute. When they started playing it live they retain Alessia's original vocal
The strings are an all female 10 piece
Not the concert intro, but one of the best re-imagined covers I have ever heard. Teatro version is also great, but without the strings.
Thank you for the correction! :)
@@RattyReacts The two previous songs *Black Holes* and *Breathe* had a huge piano on stage that the drummer Paulina played on.
@@thontor Thank you! That is super helpful to know!
Not the start of the concert, but after a short break in the middle of the concert. The studio version had lead vocals by Alessia Cara. She provided a vocal track doing the ooo-ahh-ooo stuff for the Warning to use in live performances
FYI. The orchestra at this concert is some (or all) of the String Section from the University of Monterrey in their hometown.
This song belongs to The Warning now!
Big Props reaction . I subbed. Greetings from Toronto.
Thank you, Ratty! 🎻

You gotta check out their cover of this when they were little. It’s the viral video that launched their careers at age like 9-14. It’s ridiculous.
Read that they used a backing track of Alessia Cara who did the OMV and track for the Blacklist Album.

It was Alessia Cara doing them, the Canadian singer who collaborated on the Blacklist version.
DPA ~ TWA ~ UK
As already have been told, its a backing track with Alessia Cara.
I recommend you to se the original MV. Then you will both hear and see Alessia.
Its very good, and it will help you to understand where the backing track comes from.
NOTE - Alessia and Dany are switching main vocals (plus Pau in a short part) in this video. She is not only doing oooooo. And it is a really good video. With a totally different vibe than this. More sinister I would say. But not as rocky.
This is the girl doing the prerecorded backing track. ruclips.net/video/egyaAygOZF4/видео.htmlsi=BVl1yD0FQ5i8fPWK
Oh yeah, she has a version of a Moana song. Her voice is fantastic!

Who arranged the strings in this version? Pau? I know she listens to a lot of classical music.
Why would Pau arrange the strings?
@@booradley8895Don’t kid yourself, she probably could.

If you're a violin aficionado, you should check out a group called SubRosa, two electric violins, guitar, bass, drums. They sadly broke up a few years ago.
Metallica may have written this song but The Warning made it their own!🤘🎸
Facts! 🔥🔥🔥
TWA🤟⚡🤟
No it was NOT the opening song , lol.
Violins of different sizes 😜😁
except this backing vocals who is backing tracks by alessia Cara the rest is them
They didn’t open with this
I think there is a light backing track of allesia cara. Who was in there video.

Great Reaction, Please react to Hell you Call A Dream (Pepsi Center) definitely check out Enter Sandman as kids Dany play the Solo At 13 Amazing...

Yeah, I think I misread some comments from a previous video which led me to believe it was haha

This is one of the few songs that I prefer their Teatro Metropolitan concert version more. The strings intro in this is amazing but I feel like the strings are slightly overdone at the end of the song.
Well, they just decided since they already made a killer cover of the original song they may just as well make a killer cover of the S+M version... 😅
how does Metallica play *Enter Sandman* live? perhaps this rendition from Russia back in 1991 will answer that question 👀 😜 😹
