- After showcasing Hot Wheels 2011 Vintage Racing a few weeks ago, I was able to acquire the remaining 15 models to complete the set. So here they are, along with a rundown of all 30 models.
Part 1:
• Lamley Saturday Showca...
I can't believe these models didn't sell. Full deco and Real Riders! Not normally a fan of drag or stock cars, but I have to admit the detail of these cars is just amazing.
Would never have guessed these were Hot Wheels cars.
Congratulations on finishing the set. I regret not picking up more of these when they were warming the clearance pegs. I did grab up five of them but I would love to have the full set. Cheers !!!
That is certainly without question one of the best sets of premium HotWheels I’ve ever seen, So many there that jumped out at me that I’d love to have in my collection in general....
But if I could only pick 3 I’d have to go with the cream and the orange “Galaxies” they were just real nice....And of course the other would have to be the Datsun “35” BlueBird 510 as that I’m sure like many is one of my ultimate favorite casting.....
Great review as always this was really entertaining & congrats on getting your hands on the whole set!! :)
I love this set so much. It was a struggle getting them all but they are highlight of my collection. Wish we would get a modern version of this with JDM and European cars.
Very very cool models! I didn't know that this set existed. It looks jaw-droppingly good. I love them all!
Oh man completing that Vintage Racing set is outrageous, me so jealous !!!
This was a great series (and really expensive to acquire these days) and i hope Mattel and Hot Wheels will make a similar series again in the future. The Richard Petty's '70 Plymouth Road Runner shown at 8:29 and Plymouth Superbird at 9:13 were also made by Johnny Lightning recently. All these are great versions of vintage muscle cars. Thanks for the showcase!
I have 9 of these
i remember seeing all those on the pegs, except that white mach 1. i only wanted the coolest mustangs and camaros from that series. having the whole set is awesome.
Those Vintage Racing models are so hard to find. Incredible collection!
congrats on completing the set. A real beautiful collection. My fav being the '65 Mustang. Thanks for sharing, :)
That Roadrunner is so much better than the mainline casting.
Can't believe you opened them. Especially the Datsun
This is an awesome video Jon. I never saw this set cause they were gone. These are really cool to see.
its such a beautiful set!! that superbird and sunoco camaro are among the best in my opinion :D
I'd love to own that set some day... impossible to find here though.. dont think it was sold here in the Netherlands
too bad about the tampo rub on the card side...
This series is what got me hooked on hot wheels. The bestest
Love the shaker dodge and ending country like music.
Cheers 🥃
What was the name of the music in the back ground it sounded really good
Man those mustang boss 302’s really still shine hard in 2020.
Grumpys toy his bill Jenkins (grumpy) he one of pioneers of drag racing. He on you tube watch his videos he was awesome Driver & engineer .
Brian Dubbeld didnt he always smoke a cigar when he raced?
Congrats for completing the hotwheels vintage racing set congrats again thumbs up.
You got me hooked, John, when you showed the Jr. Johnson car as one of your favorite castings. I then went a bit nutso trying to complete the set.
I'm about 75% of the way there, but now it's getting tougher. Aside from epay, does anybody know a good place to find these cars?
Grumpys Toy is a real car, but most of these cars are in a different category. Grumpys Toy is in the Pro Stock Category ❗Now your gonna make me chase this set 😂😂😂😂😂
These would've been great for the Team Transporters!
I wish I had a collection like you! Happy hunting😊
Very cool collection, now you need the drag strip demons. congrats
I got the Cougar from Toys R Us back when it was new.
Hi Jon nice complete set you have there .my always favorite car is.grumpys.Vega.how can you find the Vega.I still have the Vega in a model car.I still have the model car from years ago.I want the Vega for my collection.where can you get it.??
Grumpy's Toy is a real car driven by Bill Grumpy Jenkins. He passed away in March of 2012. Rip.
Man the packaging killed this series. See how many have the deco on the left side messed up? The deco would stick to the card. They should have had the plastic insert
Looks like a nice set. Might get some cars from the set soon.
What a beautiful set.
Man, these look so great! :O Congtats on gathering them!
6:57 FANTASTIC
Awesome cars! Would love to have these in my collection but in my experience most cars come with "chaffed" tampos on the left side like some of the ones in the video! Bummer, such awesome cars
Those gosh darn young folk
Super cool set
IMO The best set ever! 5 more models for me to complete the set and it so damn hard to find it with reasonable price..lol
The mag ti gurney eagle would of been sick if they needed new castings to round out the 30.
Congrats 🎊🎉❗
Some of the decos look a little messed up, but these are still pretty cool
Yeah, the 2011 Vintage Racing series was great but notorious for one thing: the card was rough and chaffed at the right-hand side of many of the cars (re: the side of the car facing the card). I have about half of the Vintage Racing series cars and I think about half of the ones that I have (which I all bought at retail) came with mild to moderate tampo chaffing on the "drivers" side right out of the blister.
I don't know this for a fact but I strongly suspect that the tampo chaffing issues that were so common with Vintage Racing 2011 are the primary reason Mattel now includes a plastic divider between the car and the card on current premium lines.
Steve Brandon very true my friend
Steve Brandon the weird thing was that the 2011 Hot Ones had that plastic insert, and it was a cheaper series. I think it is because the Vintage Racing line was done in Malaysia and Hot Ones (and Flying Customs and Cool Classics) were in Thailand.
i remember seeing the trans am series javelin at walgreens one night and i regret picking it up to this day, but ill still pay 200 bucks for a boxed cast of it.
On one some sides of the cars, why does it look like the paint is scuffed or scratched off by the fenders?
Vintage Racing was notorious for scuffed paint from rubbing on the card
The Lamley Group rubbing is racing ! The scuffs add to the realism.
The Richard Petty's ford Torino Talladega comes by history timeline between the roadrunner and the superbird because he just wanted to win but the roadrunner was so bad it couldn't even finish on podium so he quit for ford until the roadrunner was launched when he came back to Plymouth
F@cking amazing.Pardon my French.
Awesome classic 💖💖😊
whats that white porsche in the backround off to the left?
the shaker name is refering to the hood scoop shakes, when it's running. But not sure if a real car's sponsor?..
*recoils in horror with every opening.......to this day the only set I still really want and can’t find.....well that and I’m still missing five dragstrip demonS
The mopar missle was an actual car deco
Sweet!!!
I really enjoyed that.
I want the Richard Petty's Plymouth Superbird 🤤
I like colection vintage racing!
great cars
Motown Missle ?
divine....
In going to need an intervention before it's over 😎
They went by so quick at the end I turned the playback speed down to 75% but it just made the music sad
What's up lamley
8:02 Almost looks like the head & taillight tampos got reversed
I need these
I have the yellow mustang boss 302, i wanted to sell but no box.
These are my only vintage racing series i have in my collection...and I prefer to leave them in the cards
