    Any other marimbists feel like all these firth recordings are musically too static? It's like there was a technical issue and the performer couldn't play to soft, and the music isn't supposed to be anything but the page. I felt bored near the middle because, despite the composition being pretty, the music felt like it didn't live and breathe. Is this just me?

    • @lightyagami473
      @lightyagami473 5 лет назад +37

      It's like that so people can use it as a base reference, and then add their own musicality to the piece. If the players added much extra it'd be a bit difficult to distinguish between song and flair.

    • @brianrandall3795
      @brianrandall3795 5 лет назад +7

      @Kevin Reyes Even if the page says only two dynamics, mp and mF, it's up to the performer to make it more than just that. mp and mF shouldn't be two parts of a spectrum, they should be two worlds in their own right.
