The author of the manga wanted it to be aired in America but no one wanted to buy it. So he agreed to sell it if he sold the rights as well. So with no rights to the property Funimation gave this to the actors as a fun project. The VAs got full rein and whichever actor got in the office first in the morning got to be that episodes showrunner
See, at first I thought the Ghost Stories dub was funny, but like that’s a case of a localization team thinking they’re better writers than the original creators of the work, and that’s now become like, more and more common, to the point where it’s hard to find a translation of a game or anime that’s actually accurate to the source material and isn’t filled with overly flowery language.
Not at all. The original anime flopped really hard in Japan. So when the dub got transported, the people told the voice actors to keep the names and overall story of the episodes. But otherwise, just fuck around and have fun with it.
@ source on it flopping really hard in Japan? Everything I can find on it is stating the opposite. And “the people” who gave the team those directions weren’t the original creators or the people responsible for the show’s existence, it was Fuji TV, the company that owned the shows’ western distribution rights.
The bunny rabbit scene is the best
"Touch Me" said the little rabbit with intent in his voice
I personally loved the Ghost Stories dub.

How Not to Summon a Demon Lord, and Edgerunners.
