We were in Vegas years ago with 2 other couples. They wanted to see Wayne’s show and I couldn’t understand why anyone would want to go. Well was I surprised by his talent. Not only could he sing but he played many musical instruments. I was really impressed and have been a big fan ever since. And he played for a long time…a real crowd pleaser.
When I lived in Henderson, I used to drive by his house (right on the border of city limits), which was surrounded by a high and solid fence. I remember his peacocks used to wander out onto the street. I was an HPD officer, and one of our reserve officers used to take his kids to school. Wayne Newton used to fly to work in a helicopter, avoiding traffic..I am glad that he is an animal lover. That says a lot for him. Overall, the good outweighs the bad by far.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Newton in the late 90"s in Hawaii. I, along with a few others, were permitted to accompany him back to his room. He was a very charming and delightful soul to be around. He is and all ways be the Toast of Las Vegas. A true gentleman.
I met a couple, in OKC, who were decades long close friends with Wayne Newton. They loved him and worked for him over the years. They said one of his costly problems was "hangers on" types who Wayne would help out with cars or house payments, etc. He also loved having an entourage around him, at all times, and he would always pay for extravagant meals etc.
Wayne Newton is a talent that is very rare. So loved still. When I was young , my dad would tell us that he taught Wayne Newton how to sing. We loved his songs so we thought he was like our cousin.. Such happy memories. Much love to Wayne , he has given so many happy times to so many..
I love Wayne Newton, since he was first on Ed Sullivan Show. I was in his fan club for years. He made sure we had a front table at center stage at one of his dinner shows. I was too excited to eat. He is a fantastic entertainer. I am now 81 and Wayne has always been one of my favorite entertainers.
You did an AMAZING job on Wayne Newton !!! He was so beloved. I had no clue he was such an animal lover. It looks like they were equally as drawn to him, as he was to them. Lovely person. I never got to go see him, but I always had a lot of respect and admiration for him. Thank you for covering Wayne Newton. You truly did a wonderful job. The man aged most gracefully. Was he married, did he have family outside his animal family ? I will always love this man, til the day I take my last breath. Lovely person. 🧡🙏🏻
My parents lived in LV for many years and I would go to see them. Many times Mom and I made a point of seeing the Wayne Newton show. 1980's This one night we went to see Wayne, we got the last tickets for that night's performance. He came out on stage and then He came through the audience, shaking hands and kisses the ladies on the cheek. He started to go back on stage when he saw me and Mom sitting at the back of the room, the last table, he handed the mic to his guard, and bounced up the stairs toward us. Mom was thrilled... we hadn't even called out his name through the noise.... He came and picked me up from my seat, kissed me on the lips and said in my ear, "Where have you been? I have missed you. I've been wondering about you." I told him an answer of sorts, and he kissed me again, tenderly holding me in his arms the entire moment. He gently let go of me and reached for Mom, hugged her and kissed her on the cheek. He said to me, "I'll see you after the show." He hugged me again and kissed me again, set me down in the chair and went up on stage. Everyone in the room was talking and pointing at us. After the show, we were suppose to go backstage, however.... the ushers didn't get the message and made us go out the back side door exit and we couldn't get back in to see Wayne. I was so sad and I often wondered what HE thought when I disappeared ... from his life. Mom and I talked about that night for years. We wondered WHO did he think I was? He had to mixed me up with someone else... I had only seen him on stage and never up close and on TV of course. That was the last time I saw him in person. Mom would see him sometimes in LV and would wave to him. She knew lots of famous stars while they lived there. Great memories! Blessings, Maggie
I've seen him perform and I was lucky enough to tour his property, it is beautiful! Someday I hope to meet him in person. been a fan for over 50 years!
The state should have subsidized at least half of his property's expenses, for future generations. He brought a lot of money to Nevada. It looks like the animals loved him as much as he loved them. What an amazing place and an amazing person. I hope when his time came, his animals got to be with him for all eternity. I hope when his time comes, he has a Casa de Shanandoah, just like his place on earth, or even better in heaven. I think I like him even more(if that'spossible), knowing he was such an animal lover. You really out did yourself telling Wayne Newton's story. Lovely, lovely man and person. 🧡🙏🏻
He is a legend, always will be regardless of his trials and tribulations pertaining to financial failures. I hope he is now in recovery of whatever health issues were plaguing him. I wish him well now and always.
Mr. Wayne Newton is a gentleman who can sing and play many instruments. So he can't handle a budget, many cannot. Also if he had a few shall we say shady friends, many have. Send him your love and positive thoughts and prayers 🙏. Okay 👌 xoxo.
SOME OF US HUMANS...LOOOOOVE ANIMALS OF ALL KINDS. AND WE TAKE GOOD CARE OF THEM. *SHOWERING THEM WITH PURE LOVE* AS THEY ALSO GIVE ...AND WITH GREAT SUSTINANCE AND *HAPPY LIFE!!!* ( *I LOVE WAYNE FOR THIS.* ) WITH AAAALLLLL MY EVERLOVIN' HEART.
As a kid in the 60's and 70's driving with my parents I remember all the big names on the bill boards, Wayne, Sinatra, Dean, Joan Rivers, Sammy and Hope.
It was always on my bucket list to see wayne in concert ,i got that chance a year ago he was on tour so i too advantage before i missed my chance ,my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed that concert very talented played several instruments and he took us through a journey of his life and successes in the music industry. His wife was on stage with him for half of the show
I was very surprised. With all that time working in Vegas, it's hard to believe he's broke. But then again when you really didn't have to deal with your own cash flow, it's no surprise it happen. Once your reach age 80, most people find you uninteresting now. Especially when your main fanbase was older than himself and now are deceased or broke too, living on a limited budget.
The old proverb goes: "The higher they rise, the harder they fall." But even non-Las Vegas guys like us have to wish him well. For even those of us in our common low-profile ways understand what hard times are. And may God's blessings shine us all.
If you didnt know who he was you would never know he was the same person who started out and a nice looking young entertainer. Looks like the animals loved him as much as his fan base.
I saw his show in Branson Missouri it was wonderful and his threader was beautiful . And he’s not broke unless u think 50 million dollars is being broke. Elvis only had 5 million when he died. Shame on the people here that are putting this man down. He never did anything to you. And yes I’m a fan of Wayne and Elvis ❤
What a phenomenal talent Wayne is. He was just a boy when he turned professional. I never say his show, but being able to sing that well and play all those difficult instruments was truly amazing. The guy was great looking mister cool when he was younger and wore the moustache. It is heartbreaking, beyond tragic when super star performers and legends end up flat broke after so much wonderful effort. The man really knew how to blow the dough; had an astonishing amount of "stuff". I could not even imagine assembling and maintain a personal zoo; it is beyond my comprehension. I know having a stable of thoroughbred horses is prohibatively expensive.
I used to drive past Wayne's house in Las Vegas everyday on my way home from work. He had a personal museum across the street which was only open by appointment. But, anyone during those years working in the casinos would no doubt rub noses with the mob and shady characters. That's always a recipe for disaster. A source I knew saw him get knocked on his ass when he demanded some money owed to him by a shady casino owner he was partners with. Vegas was and still is a rank cesspool of scumbags, drug addicts, losers, and homeless beggars. Wayne was really too nice to be involved in such a place.
He’s a great talent not just typical lounge singer. He was a good looking man, why did he have to have surgery. I remember him in his younger days he was a baby faced adorable chubby singer’. But he lost that baby fat. And he was hot
We saw his show last year in Vegas. We had great seats and he is still a showman, but we were disappointed in the show itself. Mostly just videos of years past, he did play his instruments but did very little singing. I think he must of had new teeth or something as he would spit and spray so much when he sang.
Life can take some wild turns, things change, a reversal of fortune, health issues, and consequences for our decisions. It’s not easy, life is not a cake walk. Everything comes to its logical end. He seems very resilient, I wish the best for him.
Newton is certainly not the first to be fleeced of his money. He is a very talented man and should have left the plastic surgery alone makes him look quite odd.
I first remember him as part of the Newton Brothers, a duet with his brother Jerry. They used to play on the Jackie Gleason Show in the early 60s. I recall Jerry accompanying Wayne on guitar.
I got to see Wayne's show in Las Vegas with my mother in the early 2000's. His vocals were not what they had been but there was no mistaking his musically talent and stage presence. The consummate pro. I wish I had had the chance to see Liberace but I did go to his museum.
I love going to Newton, because he helps singers and actors recover from narcotics and alcoholism. He’s a good man and a good singer and a good showman.
It's sad that stars have all kind of success and money yet that look awful having surgery and they look awful and fake.i feel sorry for him that he felt he needed surgery and he looks like someone else.what. A shàme.
a very insightful episode into the life of one of the greatest entertainers in the world. and lets not forget the role he played in a cult classic, "the dark backward". its an awesome movie with an all star cast, starred Wayne Newton, Judd hirsch, John paxton, Rob lowe, James Canne and Laura Flynn Boyle. its a movie about a netherworld Earth that wanders through the exploits of a struggling comedian whose life changes for the better due to a temporary body modification via nature. This movie has it all. Action, adventure, romance, a LARGE selection of beautiful women big and small (and you can quote me on that) and of course, comedy. Dankashane.
I lived in Vegas since 1965 and I can barely remember a time when his name wasn't on a marquis. They used to refer to him as Mr Vegas. He did a lot for Las Vegas always involved in charities.
Great video and presentation. Here are my 2 or 3 cents: Mr. Newton was a huge star in Vegas, but not in the music industry. He was not a hit "hitter" (excuse the pun). Only a handful of artists can make this claim. What did Mr. Newton think that his fame and fortune would last forever. I remember once Donald Trump telling him that he needs to check his bank accounts and keep track of his money and not let others control it. Just like Mike Tyson and Michael Jackson, and many others around him only looked out for what he immediately wants, cars, money, women, houses, vacations, jet-setting and Mr. Newton never looked at his bank accounts. When you have wealth, those around you only care about themselves and not about you, in this case, Mr. Newton.
I did not know he played guitar and banjo violin piano. The rumors of the mafia I remember those back when I was a kid. It's a tragic and sad story. The fact that he had to open his home as a museum. It's heartbreaking and the fact that it failed is even more heartbreaking. You think that Nevada and Las Vegas would treat Wayne a little bit more like their own national treasure like we do Willie Nelson here in Texas. If really needed help and he Texas publicly ask for help from his Texas brothers and sisters . I feel sure all Texans would be their to do their part to protect Willie from age zero to 100 . IRS came after him too. There is nothing we regular folk wouldn't do to help really like he's kin folk anti-us he is. Very sad story for Wayne especially in his retirement age. He would have been better off to build a brand new casino not pick up on the Aladdin which needed so much work and was basically a wreck compared to all the glitter and Glam going up around it. Maybe its the atmosphere filled with greed all of the losers to go home crying from Vegas leave a lot of negative energy. And Wayne was from West Virginia. While really is Texas. I've been to Branson Missouri it's a beautiful place Branson. But it was deadsville . When I was there and I doubt that it ever has really gotten off the ground. It's too far off the beaten trail. Sadly. It was a really good idea. But I don't it has worked out for anyone who has an opera house there. Even the Rich and famous. Aren't allowed a little piece of mind. 😢❤
He and Mike Tyson went through similar efforts to lower their high pitched talking voices because they were made fun of. Wayne showed up in person to Johnny Carson and asked him not to joke about him. Johnny said, I don’t write the jokes but still respected his request.
I remember the Aladdin from the early 80's around the time when Wayne had ownership. It was like walking into a velvet Elvis portrait. Lot's of wood paneling, burgundy upholstery, and very dark and cave like. When you walked out the front door mid-afternoon, you were temporarily blinded. Really miss it, along with all the other old school casinos.
WHAT A WONDERFUL TALANT………I SAW HIM MANY TIMES IN VEGAS……SOMEONE CALLED HIM A TRUE GENTLEMAN … THAT IS WHO HE IS…HE LOOKS GREAT……THOSE 🎶WERE THE💰🎹 DAYS MY FRIEND , I THOUGHT THEY’D NEVER END…IM VERY HAPPY TO SEE HIM………SO GLAD TO SEE HE IS DOING WELL…HEALTHY…♥️☦️ UNFORGETTABLE
Lived in Las Vegas in 1960. Saw him when he was performing in a lounge show as a teenager. My husband said at the time that he would go far; excellent entertainers he and his brother.x
There's been a number of celebrities who loss large amount of funds, to make a pretty good come back rapper 50cent, Elton John, Many other Michael Jackson when he was a young boy his fourth hit thing had been a while between super great record's I believe it was off the wall basically saved the entire Jackson group from hard times, and to this day there tons of singers who live bigger than there's money queen of coke tails star Lisa Raye it's been said burn though million's all most everything she has , but has a long list of projects in front of her.
Many years ago I both lived and worked in Vegas and there were a bunch of BS lounge performers who would play two, maybe three or four notes on an instrument and the “rubes” would interpret that as actually playing the instrument. It was like a carnival midway……the only talent they possessed was to make it look hard…..and showy. Heck, they should have been politicians…..made a lot more money.
I remember Wayne's first TV appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. I though his voice was a little too high pitched, but he was a good stage performer. Those botulin shots sure smoothed out his face. He became a much better performer as he aged even if he did try to mimic Elvis' jump suits. He can still sing a good song.
He's a Good. Man full of passion for life. Yes I did know him personally however briefly and found his heart was always in the right place. A Remarkable man of his time.
He hasn't lost all his money. He currently has a net worth of $50 million. Not as much as he used to have, but still, it is $50 mil.
It's sad that he went to such an extent with plastic surgery, I bet he would have aged well naturally.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Newton in the late 90"s in Hawaii. I, along with a few others, were permitted to accompany him back to his room. He was a very charming and delightful soul to be around. He is and all ways be the Toast of Las Vegas. A true gentleman.
He is the best argument for NOT getting plastic surgery!
I had never heard about the problem Wayne Newton has in life or anything else bad. He’s still loved & is talented so he should count his blessings.✨
I overheard Cher talking about Wayne Newton, she said, "Wayne Newton has really overdone it with the cosmetic surgery operations"
Wayne Newton is a talent that is very rare. So loved still. When I was young , my dad would tell us that he taught Wayne Newton how to sing. We loved his songs so we thought he was like our cousin.. Such happy memories. Much love to Wayne , he has given so many happy times to so many..
Was he trying to look like Elvis? I could never understand his need for plastic surgery..It was strange...had a beautiful voice...

I never knew he was a skilled musician. I only knew of him as a singer and front man. He seemed like a nice guy. Interesting video!

He’s not broke far from it. I’ve met him personally and he’s a good guy.
He could've saved himself some money by cutting back on the bad cosmetic surgeries. Some just don't know when to stop.
He is still Mr Las Vegas. What a man!
SOME OF US HUMANS...LOOOOOVE ANIMALS OF ALL KINDS. AND WE TAKE GOOD CARE OF THEM. *SHOWERING THEM WITH PURE LOVE* AS THEY ALSO GIVE ...AND WITH GREAT SUSTINANCE AND

We've always loved Wayne, and will continue loving him as that is one thing nobody can take away from you ❤️
It's not about money.
HE LOVED/TOOK CARE OF THE ANIMALS!!!!
Wishing you all the very Best Wayne!

Can't believe they didn't talk about his first big hit when he was 15, Danke Schoen
He’s a great talent not just typical lounge singer. He was a good looking man, why did he have to have surgery. I remember him in his younger days he was a baby faced adorable chubby singer’. But he lost that baby fat. And he was hot
Wayne was too trusting in a world of dishonesty.
We saw his show last year in Vegas. We had great seats and he is still a showman, but we were disappointed in the show itself. Mostly just videos of years past, he did play his instruments but did very little singing. I think he must of had new teeth or something as he would spit and spray so much when he sang.
He spent a fortune on face lifts and hair dye. He actually changed physically over the years thanks to the ineptitude of facial surgeons.
That's exactly what I was thinking.
If he doesn't have over 20 kids and 10 wives. He should still have money 💰.
I have met Wayne,my mom was a show room waitress at The Sands in the Copa Room were Wayne Entertained. I Love going to his Show's.
I first remember him as part of the Newton Brothers, a duet with his brother Jerry. They used to play on the Jackie Gleason Show in the early 60s. I recall Jerry accompanying Wayne on guitar.
Why does life have to be so difficult and damned sad.
He made sure of care for his animals
It's sad that stars have all kind of success and money yet that look awful having surgery and they look awful and fake.i feel sorry for him that he felt he needed surgery and he looks like someone else.what. A shàme.
his plastic surgery is showing up pretty bad
I always wanted to see wayne...not only is he an excellent multi talented musician.......ive always considered him a total FOX !!!!
Poor man looks ridiculous!
Oh well! Who is always on Point ❓ Good Luck To You Wayne 😢
He Sure Loves The Animal's ❤️
a very insightful episode into the life of one of the greatest entertainers in the world. and lets not forget the role he played in a cult classic, "the dark backward". its an awesome movie with an all star cast, starred Wayne Newton, Judd hirsch, John paxton, Rob lowe, James Canne and Laura Flynn Boyle. its a movie about a netherworld Earth that wanders through the exploits of a struggling comedian whose life changes for the better due to a temporary body modification via nature. I Love Wayne Newton!!! He's The Best
The guy who does his face must be the same guy who works on Mickey O'Rourke. They look a lot alike these days.
He still has a net worth of $50 million. I wouldn't call that being broke.
Met him a number of times.....a pretty good fellow.
Love that song daddy don't walk so fast
A gentle person , and "human" being. Thank you !!
I lived in Vegas since 1965 and I can barely remember a time when his name wasn't on a marquis. They used to refer to him as Mr Vegas. He did a lot for Las Vegas always involved in charities.

For you kids out there ,
it is important to have financial literacy and able financial advisors in your life whether you are a celebrity or not.
That facelift ruined him to!
He looks like he's wearing a mask, and his dental work makes him sound as though he's lisping
A great musical talent...saw him at the Flamingo in the 70s
Many of these people think that if they are down to 50 million, they are broke. I consider broke to be only $50 left in my checking account.😢
He wasted a million $$ or two on the worst plastic surgeries in history! How many did he have, 50??
Hell I would be happy with a million😂
I did not know he played guitar and banjo violin piano. The rumors of the mafia I remember those back when I was a kid. It's a tragic and sad story. The fact that he had to open his home as a museum. He worked hard to be where he is.
The hair dye and plastic surgery will kill kill you alone. Glad to see he's still cookin.
Thank you for the video! well done,
Plastic surgery is not kind to some folks. I have nothing against the guy, but he choses to perform in a way that doesn't interest me.
I'm 67 and I have never seen a multimillionaire go completely broke. Every single one I have known of continues to live in luxury.
Im a animal lover to Wayne. You are a upstanding person.
Terrific video documentary. Well done. Wayne is an American Icon. God bless him.
Wayne Newton: Horrible Cosmetic Surgery result: Female criteria over resection for money
Basically Elvis on helium.
Wayne Newton I think he got into Vegas too deep
I remember Wayne's first TV appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. I though his voice was a little too high pitched, but he was a good stage performer. Those botulin shots sure smoothed out his face. He became a much better performer as he aged even if he did try to mimic Elvis' jump suits. He can still sing a good song.
He's a Good. Man full of passion for life. Yes I did know him personally however briefly and found his heart was always in the right place. A Remarkable man of his time.
Did he go to the local auto body shop for his face work ,He didn't get his moneys worth.
And those multiple face lifts ate up a lot of his money.
He has a Net Worth of 50 Million - Far from Broke.
I am 80yr old. Where can I get a wig like his ?
That's Kenny rogers,isn't it???
