This impressive layout reminds me of my time at River Don Works Sheffield UK. Also used rhe hot metal trains as well as my supervisory duties. My layouts include a much smaller steelworks and three coal mines. Very impressed with progress to date!
Looks great man! I'm going to build a steel industry complex as well. I have the walthers kits and a 4x8 space to work with. Your complex helps me understand the size and space I will need to create to utilize the kits as much as possible.
The boat represents a 1000 ft freighter but is built semi scale. As is the model is 7ft. If truly built to scale would be over 12 ft long. The steel mill kits are among the largest Walthers offers.
