's a real shame that they 'blew' their e-sports load with the first Thunder League. Everything that's come since has been comparatively massively lackluster.
War Thunder Esports is so mind-numbingly boring. I sat through 10 minutes of a tournament stream once and could not have been less engaged or excited. I was also once part of a competitive squadron, playing SQB just so I could see what it was like, and it was awful. The SQB/Competitive community of War Thunder is made up of a bunch of miserable losers whose entire lives revolve around sweating it out 24/7. By far the least fun I've ever had with anyone in this community. This is NOT a skill issue either because over 7 years, I have played 4,500 hours of War Thunder, and now typically go 2/1 in any given vehicle. I genuinely think that the Esports scene as well as SQB are some of the worst, most pointless things in War Thunder that take up time and resources the devs could spend actually fixing the game. The skins look horrible as well, so not even worth the effort of showing up to a twitch stream.
Those camouflages are all ugly as f*ck jesus christ. Is this CoD or War Thunder? Meanwhile there's soo many beautiful IRL liveries (especially on aircraft) that could be used. Lazy and disappointing this is.

From a marketing side of things, providing a mix of low through high tier rewards would be more likely to generate new interest in the game.

I can confirm, Twitch drops work on console. It takes some time sometimes but you'll get the rewards. Just don't forget to claim them on Twitch first
