If my memory is correct, the main reason why Redemptor Dreadnoughts end up burning their occupants out after a length of time is mainly due to Cawl cutting corners when designing the pattern, meaning he most likely can develop the Redemptor further in the future to no longer do that, honestly it would be in character for Cawl to do this.

But the Deredeo was only made for war, apart from that, the Leviathan is also a favorite of mine.

Those lil' bloopers are neat to leave in. Castaferum Mk V is my favourite, just because it looks like a box that shouldn't be as mobile as it is, but it is and it's bloody impressive when they go on a rampage.
The Redemptor is a blessing for many Dreadnaught Space Marines. The idea that they will have an end is comforting. For many the worst part is that their chapters hold them back and try to keep them alive. The loss of knowledge and skill is harmful to a chapter but to the Dreadnaught the idea of sometimes thousands of years of unending slumber and short bursts of combat is a serious toll on even a Space Marine. Except Bjorn he is fueled by unending fury at his Primarch for leaving the family and making him take care of it.

My favorite story about a dreadnought is when the Blood Raven's "borrowed" Bjorn the Fell-Handed for a battle. His first clue after waking up that something was amiss was that the astartes around him were in red armor, not blue. The second was that absolutely NONE of them wanted to hear a tale from him about Lemun Russ.

They are a testament to sacrifice, but also a reminder that in our service, even death is not always an end. It is both an honor and a heavy fate.

Dreadnoughts are some of the coolest, most 40K things in all of 40K. They’re brutal and monstrous machines of war. And no space marine army is complete without one. Honourable mention of course to the Hellbrute, Chaos their dark reflection of the Dread. Where being entombed into a Dreadnought is seen as a great honour amongst the space marines, being put into a Hellbrute is seen as a torturous punishment. The demonic flesh and metal of the Hellbrute will forcibly and violently merge with the occupant, driving them into madness (if they weren’t mad already). Ensuring that their remaining existence will be one of constant suffering whilst they’re thrown at their enemies. They also used to have this rule where they’d lash out at anything that damaged them, which was actually pretty strong.
Lore on the Heresy era First Captains would be cool when you've finished the Primarchs. I think Sevatar and Kharn are just as interesting as their Primarchs.
As someone who played Rogue Trader and had old dread models its nice to see the old stuff in real life be old stuff in lore. Still wish they had kept the nicknames for the patterns, but I guess Chuck, Eddy and Fury arent grim dark enougj for modern 40k.
