- Yesterday (Saturday 9th September) I went to Southport Airshow, it was the second time in a row I had been to Southport so It was great to be back for some more aviation action! It was a great day and I managed to film every single display that was one, including the amazing raf typhoon and of course the red arrows, along with so much more! great footage...but I thought the airshow was terrible on the day I went (saturday) Massive gaps between displays and half of the advertised lineup didnt perform at all and only a flypast by the Arrows in the end. Not worth the cost.

Felt sorry for a lot of people. I went to see them too but knew they bailed the display but were going to to a fly by later. Other people didn't know and got really excited when they arrived, which quickly turned to "Is that it?"

They fly over Liverpool every day & make it grey. Today there is no sky in Liverpool, the sky comes back at night 😢 Southport are performing agenda 21.

Superb filming Charlie but…… I hate to say this…. I do have my favourites!!! Second pass of all the BBMF - absolutely nailed it!! And 21.30 Lancaster pass. Just something else. Ps forgive me if it was a relative but the crying in typhoon performance? Aaaaahhhh!!! Same happened to me yesterday waiting for the Lancaster! Few kids moaning out loud, I could see the lanc coming then brilliantly one of them said to dad oh I wish something interesting would come and no joke. Through all the bickering? They had their backs turned and completely missed the Lancaster flying through!!! Oh and ps lanc call sign? My birthday and first initials of my name. Superb!! All the best bud!! I heard that it was an awful airshow experience.. the traffic management and issues with the tannoy, no parking on the beach and hour queuing for the waterless toilets! From this video though it looked great!

It was the worst air show I’ve ever been to I’m sorry I went there was hour gaps between aircraft apart from the typhoon and the shinook and the bbmf I’ve never been so bored in my life last time I went Southport was 2015 for the Vulcan and that was a decent show. But this year it was bad I wouldn’t be surprised if there was 100k people there and I’d be being generous if I said I seen 20 security/people in high vis vests
@@Manc-king yeah I heard it was real bad. I think it’s been going downhill the last few years. Even the lineup seems very similar. Hardly any fast modern jets.
the tannoy was garbage. I went right to the front to be as close as possible but had to head back in order to know what was going on because the tannoy was only at the back.
I live in southport, could see most things from my house, especially the typhoon but i could 100 percent hear all of them, I would like to go this year for photography but worry about judgement and that as i am still in school, however, do you think a lens that goes up to 300mm would be sufficient?
Fast Shutter speed, Focal Length to infinity and away you go. Good luck. 👍
