The Candidates did great! Well most of them... Its your interviewers that are bit alarming. (ok ATROCIOUS) Its very obvious there's a different style in how you all questioned the candidates. But this is great video, because it shows the point, Im trying to make to my mentorees , interviewers DO discriminate per sex.. and this video perfectly illustrates this. Lol 😆 😆 smh
I love that the video and the interview were so real, it is nice to know that it's normal to be nervous, and the people who interview you understand that. 👍
Note to Viewers: Also pay attention to difference in how they question Female Candidates vs Male Candidates. With Female Candidates interviews will sound like INTERVIEWS, they will expect more jargon, technical verbiage and they will expect you to know all adjacent technologies. With Male Candidates interviews, it will sound more conversational... theyll focus more on 'outside work efforts' vs 'workplace proficiencies'. With FC: they ask more TECHNICAL QUESTION. very definitive answers required. Like when 1 douche, asked Candidate #1 'whats your favorite Linux command' ? LOL 😆 😆 Like she goes home and DREAMS about using Linux commands. Poor lady got nervous (because it being such an odd question and didnt know how to answer) BUT then, With MC : they asked more 'Open ended questions' (that dont have a definitive answer) , like Rico asking Candidate #3 'what do you do for FUN'. wow. The Candidate could barely explain his range of knowledge BUT Rico ends with (I can sense you're more technical than you're saying) WOWOWOOWOOWOWOWOWOWOWOW. Again **Major RED FLAG** , THIS IS HALLMARK OF BAD MGR.
I really appreciate for this mock interview and very much appreciate the Managers ! can I request one thing ? if you would attach the best resumes in description.
**MAJOR RED FLAG** Contrast with feedback for Candidate #4 vs #6 C#4 previous owned a business (non-IT related) was told in her resume she needed to include more 'leadership' demonstrations. C#6 very experienced, more than 10yrs ... no mention of him, including more 'leadership demonstrations' on his resume
3rd candidate is good but still needs to learn English learn to understand that is what companies needed most from the candidate. So 1st time's 1st good job.
I will mention you guys those who are Economics don't expect anything from the company because they are always looking for the professional software engineering and understand deeply structure of code. A team tester the verify testing in order of scenario application and funding bug and return to the team development fix the warning and again tester create a new version build and tester again scenario. I am experience full stack development and I am doing test for cross on warning bug, defect, errors.
**MAJOR RED FLAG** Critique of Candidate#3 (in the beginning she clearly states she new to the field) ... at the end of her interview (lol Bad Mgr : Rico) states she should include on her resume (for the new field she just entered) more 'leadership' demonstrations. smh 🤦♀ 🤦♀, how would someone relatively new to a field, still in process of learning, be in any capacity to be in a more leadership role? Help me to understand? Also, they asked Candidate #3 (FEMALE) to explain several systems in detail.. and how to use them, compare and contrast btwn the two, WHICH they didnt with previous (Male) Candidate.
In one of my interview, I offered to show a demo of my automation project. I thought this would be something to my advantage, but the interviewer doesn't seem to be interested in it. I alwasy thought experiences in automation is valuable. Kinda weird this. And sure enough, I failed in that interview.
A demo of your project definitely may help. However, it won't dramatically change the interviewer's perception. If the interviewer wasn't interested to see, he might have already decided. There could be numerous reasons why they decided to pass on you. Just move on, and try to learn lessons from each interview. Good luck!
@@EvgenyKim1 Thanks for the insight. Actually, it was kind of quite early in the interview, and to have my fate decided so early, I think that's quite a turn off. By the way, I would like to participate in this mock interview. Do you still conduct this ?

Calling out obvious (Ageism) : Candidate #6 Very experienced yes, but man said right off, he was 'nervous about speaking. interviewing' , had been previously LAID OFF. So then why would interviewer say to him, perhaps he should consider being in MGMT? He's saying flat out, he knows he's 'old skool' and is willing to learn newer skills but isnt proficient in them. FYI Candidate #5 (Exp, and has more industry current skills , why didnt they suggest mgmt to her?) Look, not everyone whose very experienced or skilled in their job should be mgr or even desires to be. That shouldnt reflect badly upon them. Most of older workers KNOW mgmt level employees arent always treated the best, most more is required of them (mainly time, so work/life balance suffers) and they just DO NOT want to LIVE AT WORK. So again the interviewer on that point, was wrong. FOCUS SOLELY ON THE JOB TITLE you're interviewer for. Are you interviewing someone to have longevity at your company? (then Candidates 1 & 2, wouldve been ideal) Are you interviewing for QUICK PLACEMENT/DEPLOYMENT of industry relevant skills? (then Candidates #4-&5 wouldve been ideal) Are you interviewing for someone whose knowledgeable needing minimal instruction (Candidate# 6 would be ideal) Again: ***MAJOR RED FLAG*** as viewers, note they didnt ask Candidate #6... anything. They just let him ramble.. though much of what he spoke on, would NOT be 100% transferrable to today's market.
Hi, I tried to use the link you’ve mentioned to participate one of the future events but seems that it doesn’t work. Can you please provide a new invite link? Thank you
Very use video. Thank you very much Mr Evgeny Kim. I have a question. Apparently, if you don’t lie about the skills and experience in your CV then your CV will not get screen for an interview essentially making your application unsuccessful. Apparently you guys want people that already know the job inside out ?
nspiring so happy for you deserve it worked hard! Can you get paid same salary’s in US if you go live outside US if your United States citizen ? I’ve lived here all my life but want to start living abroad is why I’m asking ?
Hi creator, could you please take my interview, i have been in quality from 13 years and i am DevOps QA consultant. I would say NewIT consultant. I am also preparing for interviews, it would be good practice for me. Let me know whats your thought.

**What earned a thumbs DOWN on this video for me** 1- Bashing Candidate #1-poor lady didnt know what to expect and did her best, but was (in my opinion) unfairly judged 2- Some of these interview questions, arent fair to be asked for a simple tester perspective. This is ROUTINELY a problem with the job market now, Interviewers asking questions out of the range of scope for the job theyre interviewing for. Like, when interviewer as (Candidate #2) about how developer would make a website localized, THEN how is developer (translating language) on website. (That was a poorly constructed question, because it basically was 2 questions in one. Making a website localized is matter of architect and dealing edge routing-NETWORKING, which the avg tester wouldnt be proficient in. That's where you're NOW requiring them to be in a more of Dev Ops role. This lady (if you were listening, was previous in ACCOUNTING, not IT/Networking) The 2nd part of question was asking about language. The answer would be : its a system integration with a translating language software. BUT if this (Candidate#2) never really worked with integrations, they might not have experience in understanding how that system would be built into a website. Not all QA TESTER, work with integrations. **MAJOR ISSUE/RED FLAG** When interviewers try to DISQUALIFY YOU, for a job vs QUALIFY YOU. Thats what he did here and was 'bit douchey/azzholey' of him. He's response to her, and his poorly constructed question was a mere 'thank you' (confirming he might not have readily expected that as correct answer)
oh FYI: I have networking experience... lol Thats why I do think it was extremely WRONG to have asked that Candidate #2, that networking questions for a Tester role... She wasnt interviewing for TEST ENGINEER.. smh 🤦♀ 🤦♀
so weird that Candidates is not in the video on . But In my case none of the interviewer show their face during interview and I feel disrespected and disgusting!! TBH I stopped giving interview when interviewer doesn’t want to show their face. I stop right there and refuse the interview.

Great idea ! A huge help for QAs who are preparing for an interview.
I was looking for mock interview for QA position like this, thank you a lot for feedbacks from professionals, such information values a lot
The first person is an Ukrainian with Economics degree, exactly like me) Exciting! Made me think I can do this as well then.
Candidate 2 is awesome! Good job lady!
Candidate 6 knocked it out of the park! Hope things worked out well for these guys.
Last one always does, because they learn from previous candidates... right?
AS A LONG TIME TESTER SHOULD!
smh 🤦♀ 🤦♀ jeez
Wow small world. I went to a boot camp with Enrico a few years ago at UCSD.

Is it true the employers don’t take individuals serious who attended one of those boot camps?
Different companies, different people and different perspectives. We saw both, who hire and who don’t even consider.
Thank you
You're welcome
QA Managers have a tough job.

You're very welcome! Lie on the resume is very easy to catch, don't go down that road. There are companies who hire newbies grads but not too many.
