    Plz. Ans.
What is the maximum time for which water kifer. can be kept and if it is to be kept for one year then what needs to be done for it?
Note : My question is for Water kifer and not for kifer grains .

"Everyone knows to get out the extra air"..... I've got a lot to learn still apparently. Learn something new every day, 😊

Couldn't you get a bigger plastic bag, they seem so small.

I have about 2 cups of grains. I want to save them but it's getting really hard to keep up with feeding them and making the kefir, so over fermented. I am worried I am losing some of the bacteria's and yeasts. I let it sit in the fridge sometimes over a month. They do continue to produce, but I'm worried about quality. I'm afraid they will not be healthy enough to dry and store.

nice. Put lactose to kefir grains before freezing. It prevents mikrobes from damage

I froze kefir for 3 years using a different method and it took only 3 days it to be fermenting milk wonderfully. Kefir was frozen in a jar and covered with with milk but leaving at least 1/3 of free space. Before freezing Kefir I washed it in water and dried it with paper tissue.

Love that she proves that you don't need extra special prep, just toss it in the freezer.
Of course you can always try the powdered milk coating to be safe.
