nice job! I love that you made little *trees* for them, very creative. Finding out how to mount the tree branches is very helpful. We'll be putting together something like this soon and I would love to get actual trees in there for them.
Love your creativity. Your kitties are lucky to have you.. I noticed cat struggled a bit thru cat door. I have a suggestion that may help. If you were to raise door up to where the bottom of door was even with their belly. It may be easier for them to pass thru. I think you rock!!
Thank you for sharing this. I need to make an enclosure for my cats. Love your idea with the cat door between your two sliders. That's a great option. I don't have many good options for a cat door.
OMG!!! This is so ideal! We have almost this same situation...five indoor kitties & a high deck they can go out onto. But this would fit purrrrfectly under our deck because we have patio doors out from our basement (in PA). The backyard is filled with wildlife all the time & the kits would love to be 'closer to the action'. Great work! Great idea! Finger snaps & kudos to you!
Very cool! My only suggestion would be to locate their litter box in such a nice, breezy location, to keep odors out of the house. Even in the coldest weather, they’ll scoot right out to do their business, then scoot back in again. Anyway, nicely done.
I'm impressed! You have 2 pretty kitties. I have 6 inside cats and a catio is upcoming. I can't trust myself to build something and have it turn out so I am going with a 6'x6' chicken pen that's also 6' tall and has wire mesh. May have to reinforce that and then I will attempt making a couple climbing trees and sleeping places. Your kitties are lucky to have this play area!
I didn't mean the litter boxes...and if the cats want to walk around on the floor, that's great. Only thing on the floor should be the litter boxes....food and water on another tier and the hopefully some way for them to sleep together is they want on an even \]higher but safe tier. What you have done for your babies is wonderful...a work of art actually and I appreciate you posting it and all the work and explanations and instructions you gave. it was very helpful and enlightening. I appreciate your creativity. You can tell your kids love it.
I love that you did this so your cats can be outside and safe at the same time. One thing tho…. on the inside, I noticed some strings/cords hanging down by the sliding glass door. You might want to put those up, out of reach from your cats so they don't accidently get tangled around their necks. You're a good mommy kitty!
Yeah its a normal large tank, but I see a lot of Dragon owners made small portable cages to take outside so they can hang out in the sun. When I take her out I usually have to hold her, or make sure she has a harness on. Lol
So where do you keep the kitty litter boxes. I have need for a cage for 5 kittens looks like I will be keeping from one litter and need a safe way to remove and replace litter boxes. Being from a litter since birth, they like to sleep together still so need a way to have a platform OFF THE FLOOR where they could all be together to snooze and a platform off the floor to keep the food and water up.
I have three litter boxes. Two in the house and I placed one in the enclosure sometime after recording this video. I am not sure what you're asking of me when you mention that they need to be off the floor. If you want them all off the floor, either build them something to their/your needs or find a table and attach a ramp.
Thank you! I will need to keep them crated or caged while I am gone to work over night and don't want the only alternative for them sleeping together to be on the floor with the kitty litter or their food there also...what I thought about building a next level that maybe took up a great deal of the space several feet up. Love what you have done but I will have to use mine to keep them captured and not running free in my house until I am home from work. Thank you...it gave me great ideas and your babies love it and that is the main thing.
I got the wire at the dump so it didn't cost me anything. My cats are free to enter in the enclosure whenever they want because It's connected to the house.
this looks great, but I have a question. Can a goddamned coyote still break the mesh and hurt the cats or dig from underneath? Remember that there are also birds of prey...
Coyote's live around where I am, but I have not encountered a problem with them yet (this cat enclosure has been up a little over a year now). The wire mesh I used is pretty heavy duty. I haven't had any big bird problems either.
I have always wanted one for my boy. You have given me some really good ideas. Now, I just have to find someone to help me lug this stuff. I am not as handy as you. I would definitely request your help, but I live on the eastern side of the mid-west.
Ah yes. You will definitely need help for some of the materials. Some were pretty heavy/bulky and some were too tall for me to get to when putting it together... Like putting on the roof. I am short. haha Being handy takes practice and I am no where near perfect. I believe in you!
Um, I wouldn't think so because this enclosure isn't anywhere near the brush where fleas like to inhabit. That being said, my cats HAVE gotten fleas before but I think it's because they were on my clothes. I have goats so I go out into the field a lot where lots of bugs are. =\
That you very much, thanks for your kind sharing for our beloveds. My neighbour’s two huskies get out hundreds of times go on killing Thrill kills. I live in country setting and me and neighbours find Many murdered wild animals and see dogs out before the kills. This time old woman witnessed our cat we shared Murdered in front Of her eyes. The dogs owners said the cat should not be out and It was an accident dogs got out again. So catico best thing, 🙏
@ I designed something very similar to this years ago for a friend and her cats. However I never finished it for one reason or another. I really fantastic starting something awesome and never finishing it. That’s my own life long struggle. I am like you in repurposing items in creative ways.

You are a very resourceful lady!.thanks for the ideas!.

Nice! Good luck to you putting something like this together!
Good for you! I have been looking at different catio’s for the past few days and you inspired me to make my own.
Great job! I love the organic shape and green color of the platforms to look tree-like.
The time and energy you put into this is awesome

Thanks~ :)
Great job and what a nice person you are. Smart too.

Great job of reusing materials.I plan to make a removable one also.Beautiful cats.

Really good job on building the cat play house
Beautifully done!

DIY women rock! The recycling finds are great! Love your design! Where exactly is this "dump"?
Thanks!
The "dump" is in a gated community, so you wouldn't be able to go and take a look even if you wanted to. ;P
I'm more than likely thousands of miles away, anyhoo. You appear to be in Cali?
Yep. Somewhere in the hills. :D
WOW! that is awesome. Your cats are so lucky, and adorable :3
I love your beautiful kitties, they are so sweet.

YOU'RE SUCH A HANDYMAN --eerr LADY !
I should hire you to make me a mini outdoor enclosure for my Dragon lol
I bet she'd like that! I mean, I'd totally do that if I had my own
dragon. :) Is her only place to stay right now the aquarium in the
house?
Yeah its a normal large tank, but I see a lot of Dragon owners made small portable cages to take outside so they can hang out in the sun. When I take her out I usually have to hold her, or make sure she has a harness on. Lol
I see! Well if you're serious, we'll have to chat more about this later in a chat room or something.
wow! super inpressed. you ave inspired me! starting on mine today! great job!
Thank you and good luck! ^__^
good job! be aware that your cats may learn to reach through the wire to unlock the door & get out.
Absolutely love how you did this! Great job!
Thank you! :)

@@bezzycay9939 I agree!! Love all kitties, but Persian-/(ish) kitties are special to me 😻

That's the fur illusion. ;P They're not that big looking when they're wet.
And yes, they need lots of smooshes!

Lov it how long did it take for u to make that?
is the roof of your enclosure slanted? (Maybe it just looks that way due to the picture angle). Building one this week. Thanks for sharing.
The roof is slanted for rain drain off.
Good luck making yours! :D
send vedio how you bulit this or give me tricks how to built please
Thank you, you really helped me a lot.
No problem! :)
wow, I need one for my cat's, how much was the wire? do you leave the cats out in that all the time*?
I got the wire at the dump so it didn't cost me anything.
My cats are free to enter in the enclosure whenever they want because It's connected to the house.
Great idea 💯
