Case in point: the first Garbage album came out 11 days before her 29th birthday. Version 2.0 came out when she was 31, going on 32. Bleed Like Me (the album this is on) came out in 2005, the year of her 39th. It's safe to say she was 39 by the time of this performance. She was already in her 40s when they released "Tell Me Where it Hurts", yet is still a total smokeshow in the music video.
always brilliant live,i like the way she half sings half talks in the middle bit ,you always get something special with Shirley, A TRUE STAR ,ALL WE GOT TODAY IS ON RADIO IS MAINLEY PLASTIC POP SLUSH, I heard Shirley say in an interview at the famous scot exhibition a few weeks ago that she is getting the itch to perform and sing again soon. i am hoping she will be releasing her solo cd later this year ..something exciting to look forward too, we missing you Shirley ,YOU KEEP IT REAL HUN XX
She certainly did say that, I heard her with my own ears. She's gonna be focused on music the rest of the year, and she's in London with one of the most succesful songwriter/guitarist/producers of the last two years and they are writing new material. I got the impression Shirley has moved on from the material judged as "noir" as it is 2-4 years old now. But she says she might post some of it on her Facebook like she did with "In the Snow". :P

@@ABSOLUTgarbage Shirley’s live. A lot of these shows aren’t even set up for a live band, they may not have had a choice. TOTP for instance made everyone mime, on such shows the most they can do is allow live vocals

I'm just sick of comments under the videos of them on TV shows criticising that they are miming or playbacking, a lot of these comments tend to come from the USA - which is interesting because even though their TV shows have live performances, they always sound SHITE because the TV engineers mixed the audio. Most UK TV shows don't have a proper live setup, unless it's a late night show.
I am obviously a big fan of your group, not just one of you. If you, though I am proud youd always keep the whole band un your videos. Their equipment was at the venue, rather than the studio, hence the playback. It's not a big deal, it's only a TV show.
