Oh my fucking god !! I have never seen so much sodding about to rescue a driver. Put him in a GOTCHA rescue kit for heaven's sake. He would have been down in 4 minutes flat. I know. I am UK Tower Crane rescue trained. Unless your whole site has been ground bearing pressure tested (so the crane won't fall over btw) and you have a spare mobile crane hanging around waiting for a driver to fall ill, this excersise is absolutely useless.
Spot on Marc. I've been working out in the Middle East for 10 years and use the Spansafe GOTCHA kit. One Client numpty with no experience rejected the GOTCHA until we proved he was an idiot!!! A little knowledge is a dangerous thing!! I can imagine the total drill time for mobile crane set up to landing would be in excess of 20 minutes minimum.
😂 I was thinking the exact same thing! I am a tower operator in Seattle Washington and there are so many other productive and safe ways to do this rather than bring in a mobile crane and wait all that time to set it up.
