@@trinathompson822 it was such a nice trip and the weather was perfect. The first night coming back down the river, I wanted to camp on a sand bar that I later noticed kind of smelled like dead fish and bears were probably eating fish nearby lol. We later found a place with moose hoof prints in the sand and expected that we would have better luck sleeping there 😄

A lot of new sights and experiences on that trip. Yes, thank goodness for boat rollers. The boat would not budge without them 😬

Oh, this was such a wonderful view of the area! I loved seeing the bears. Glad you haven't encountered them in your camp! It was interesting to see that you guys floated back (most of the time) and had to push away from banks and escape eddies. The weather looked really great I haven't viewed Part 1 yet. Will get to it soon.

This was the first time that we've ever floated down the river - it was so awesome! We were able to see so much more than when the boat is zipping along quickly. Normally the bears would have heard the motor and run off. We always try and camp on a sand bar in the river surrounded by water to reduce the chance that a bear visits us at night. The weather was great the whole time!

75% of the folks will never have the chance to see something like that. The river appears to be flowing at a good speed, does it freeze solid in the winter?
It appears there has been some very high water at times, with all the debris.

It’s amazing! We’re so lucky. Yes, the water level gets higher when the snow melts in the spring/summer and then debris deposits where the river takes it. We were there end of August when the river is lower. The Stikine is the fastest free-flowing navigable river in North America. It does freeze over in the winter. We drove to the mouth of the Stikine early one spring and it was completely covered in ice.
