Thanks For Watching.
in this video u will get answer regarding below questions about usb fan
powerful usb fan
homemade usb fan
how to make usb fan
how to make powerful usb fan
very simple usb fan
someone had my idea 8 years ago but i had no idea how to execute it
i didnt realize it was this simple, this should help with cooling my laptop as it gets really hot, thanks!
Lol i am using for the same reason!
So does basically adding the wires together is enough? I mean they won't be disconnected due to movement?
@@ARHAYEMXDso what you do my dude is cut off the plastic from the wires and twist those together do thisfor both use the tape and it will not disconnect (or if you have saudering iron you can just do that)
Might seem silly, but i bought a big square ice pack that i literally sit my laptop on when im using it, works like a magic charm. Performance is so much better now. I just keep a towel with a aluminum foil in between to block wetness
@@KiLLJOY1056 you sure that will work?
Fast and simple. No complicated tools off the Amazon or someplace else. I'll save this for later. I've got a couple of PC fans to spare and risk for this project because I'm a total noob on this.
out of curiosity, did you ever do this in the end?
The perfect diy instructions exactly when I need them! Thanks a lot 😊
you are the best! i did not know it was this easy. i thought i would need a driver or something. you made me feel like tesla bro. thanks.
Woke up this morning to find my cable modem had completely shut down. No led blinking lights.
I thought I would have to buy another modem.
I unplugged the modem, waited a few minutes, then plugged it back in, but still no blinking leds.
I left it unplugged for about 30 minutes, this time it powered up and eventually got it working.
I noticed later the modem was getting very warm.
I thought about where I had placed the modem as it was sitting on top of a pvr cable box which also gets warm. The weather has been hot and muggy in my area and i don't have an air conditioner.
I thought about buying a small fan to allow air to circulate around my media cabinet.
Then I thought why not make my own.
So for the interim, the modem is sitting on top of a DIY USB computer tower fan just like the one in the video.
The modem now feels cool to the touch.
Thanks now I can dry my weed faster.

that's the idea I was thinking
Fuck ya same

Hahaha!!!!
Thanks for the great and simple video. I just spliced a 120mm pc fan to an accessory usb cable (red-red/black-black) and using a Blu 1.0a 5v Usb phone charger adapter is working great, spins as fast as the pc would. Using it for low cost exhaust :) working as planned! I'm sure any usb a/c adapter should work as long as the amps and volts are higher rated on the adapter then the fan, which the 120mm I'm using is 0.16a @ 1.0v so in theory could link up to 5 possibly. But that's for another day :)
I thought if the adapter output has more voltage than the fan, it would cause problems?
@@twentytwo138 if its rater at 12V well at like 14/15 it could cause problems, but i have seen people getting noctua fans to 17V. Its just how good the fan (motor) is.
Cool I’m out of power pins on my motherboard and rgb controllers are too confusing this just might be what I need thanks a lot 🎉❤
I tried and i made it. Thats was fun...😍😍😍
Tnx dude , respect from Algeria 👏👏🎉
Quick and easy...just what I was looking for. Thanks!
I put the fan up my shirt now i have a mini aircon keeping me cool while i game thanks for the simple solution
Lol
for those with yellow cables connect red to yellow black to black
I literally cant tell you how thankful i am i was like "WTF I have no red wire " Thank you so much
What if you have red and yellow?
yea i thinking the same thing
thanks my dude
I have a red green and white wires
Thanks, now I can cool down my brain.
did this yesterday as an extractor fan for my 3d printers - joy ♥
It's working 100%. Thanks.
Was thinking this is what I was going to do today and here it was! Drilling some holes into my Bell Satellite TV box and adding a fan cause my TV Box heats up next to the fireplace and freezes the channel guide. Hopefully I've found my solution!
Great! I have a bunch of fans lying around and my PS5 gets really hot in its cabinet. I'm gonna cut a hole in the back for a fan and power it by the PS5 so it should be able to stay cool more easily
Thanks for keeping it simple, love it👍
Thankyou for this. Now I know how to run power inline on my LEDS. always wanted to know how to use USB cords for power.
thanks now may idea na ako kung paano ko papaganahin yung fan para sa content na gagawin... patapik na din bro
I had made it. I added a voltage Booster module between the connections. Because the CPU fan is rated for 12 volts. It won't run on full speed with USB 5 volts....😀😁😂😃😄😅😉😉
Thnx much bro i liked and sub
My laptop internal fan was not working so thnx
Thanks for making it so simple!
That is a brushless fan (hence the 3 wires) so get a electronic speed controller for the fan it will run more efficiently.
More like use an nano arduino and connect fan to it, make a mini case for it and put some potenciometers
@@CreeperSlenderman for a freaking fan? No thank you
Thank you for helping I was in great problem
if you have an adapter that you dont use that has 12v output, you can just cut and tap it, instead of plugging into your pc or laptop which uses a much needed usb slot specially when you have multiple devices want to connect.
But will it run at full rpm if i do that?
SmokinG WeED got me Here 😂
Thanks man , fillnaly I used my old fan , it's 💯% working
Thanks man! Worked like a charm. One small step closer to my grow box \o/
haha thats what im here for
@@noahb5334 me too!!
loser
Ok first things first if you are using a Android cable and you have blue red brown and green
If you hook the green to green you can control fan speeds on your pc If you hook blue to black that will be the ground wire
Then red to red and your good to go and if you are wondering what is the green wire the green wire is the D+ wire aka Data.
i made a small fire
How 😳?
I made 2 of these and didn’t get that did you connect the wires wrong?
hmm... a usb port outputs 5 volts but a pc fan needs 12 volts. With this method you're using only 40-50% of the whole power, that the fan could create....
Vartax It will spin quiter though
Kota dala haramy
@@clashwithstrong7780It will cool the PC a bit, but maybe not enough, i use one to give my laptop a bit of extra cooling
Some can use 5 volts and some usb port can put out 1.5 amps so even if it's 12 volt fan it may try to to make up for it by pulling more amps but that causes things to heat up I don't think it will be enough heat or amps to do smh since it's still a usb 5v port.
Use 19 volt laptop charger it runs superfast
Super nice now i can install this into my props!
This actually worked! Thank you :)
Thanks bro it works really thanks
Jai bharat jai hind, thanks brother I need this help for putting a computer fan in my incubator.
Thanks for the vid.
thanks! I had a fan where the yellow wire was not attached to the fan circuit board, anymore but it still had the black and red wires. When I cut an old USB cable it had red and white wires, but I connected the red to red and white to black and it worked perfectly. I've no idea how you managed to connect the wires just by pushing them into the black plastic connecter thing though...I had to pop them out with a pin, stick the USB wires through the plastic box, wrap them around the end of the fan wires and crimp them, then gently pull it all back into the connector box. It worked though
TX for the hack my friend!!! :D
easier than i thoth, thaenks for sharing
Thanks!
Can we put in phone charging adapter
how cool! just had the idea lol
thanxxx.... bro.
your famula is 100% success full
Best video on this so far
Thanks. I've been looking for this.
thank you man very much
very very nice than kou video
Thanks now I can use my Xbox one fan to aid my xbox series s in not lighting on fire (it almost lit on fire)
THANK UUUUUUU!!!!!!!

Is this required ?? What if i just wire it up without this ?
Thanks, excellent
I was going to do this for a ventilation system for my DIY battery box
Tq bro 🤗
thank you
I did it..Thank you so much🌷🌷
bhai boht shukria
you life saver .great job
It will be very helpful if you have added the product link as well.
Buen trabajo. Gracias por compartir
really heplful thanks alot man.
good to know...... now I can hopefully do the same thing here with a pc power supply and two or three extra pc fans to stop my rasp pi from ever showing that overheating icon ever again... and make a cool case while doing it. but one question what if there's pink, blue black wires instead of red black yellow as shown in the video...
Is it can do to fan case into a cooling pad for laptop?
I will put one of this, directly over my laptop's processor. Hopefully it can lower my temps...
WTF!! You can't do that!
Just do what you want man don't listen to these leg pullers crabs.
@@anshulbing😂😂 Yeah... Do whatever you want... Destroy your laptop🤣...
@@pavikichu1609 😝😝😝
@@pavikichu1609 He can and apparently he will :/
These small cpu fans make for better designs when building a small diy AC unit
thanks
It worked!!Thx!!!
thanks guys for u information
NICE
VERY HELPFUL!
:)
Perfect thank you.
thank you so much bro.....
Thanks a lot mate!
If the fan Has 4 pin?
Thanks, dude!!! Really good!!
My fan has four wires, blue, green, yellow, and black, and my USB has red, white, green black. Which ones do I connect? Obviously black-to-black and green-to-green, but what of the other colors?
Yellow to red and black to back that all u need
What does direct usb volts do for the fan speed? Will it be default at maximum or less?
I assume it depends on the fan, some fans are only rated to 5v etc whereas some are rated for 12v, since USB only gives off 5v of power then a 12v fan would more or less be slower than normal or at a "quiet" setting.
Nice Idea i inspired
Tried 7.5v 400mA... Way too weak(less than half speed)
Tried an old 9v 300mA plug... didn't work?
Finally - a big 12v 3A from a wireless router, that looks like a laptop charger. Works with that. Feels like 75%
Then realized I have a friggin 12v 1.5A plug, already cut & stripped& with a switch attached, that I used to use with a light🤦
Good thing I didn't cut em all 1st
thanks!! :,D
does it makes a difference if u use usb 1.0 plug or 2.0 etc?
What is the out put or input of the batteey you plug
It is okay to connect it to cp charger direct to main power?
My wall outlet is same principle?
I got question, can I make one of these but have the fan only kick on when temperature gets to a particular temperature inside a small closet? Reason I ask is bc remodeling my house I am going put router modem in closet and want make a vent in there for heat to escape but want put fans like this in there this might work but dont want it to be running 24/7 Thanks I like this idea
Yes you can but that requires alot more effort you need a micro controller or like some kind of thermostat that detects the temperature and then sends a signal to turn it on. All of that requires will require more power then a 5 volt USB port can ever supply
Perfect!!!!!!
Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Im going to use mine for mobile gaming to keep my phone cool
i have a question can i use a motorola usb charge but my fan requires a 12 v and the usb charger is 5.6 v ....thanks alot for ur info
Ernie Zamora yes you can use that charger
thank's. broo.. great
USB 2.0 standard only goes up to 5v. Can i make a cable that pulls power from two usb ports and goes to one fan?
Intel Inside while this sounds like a good idea im not so sure you wouldnt get a power surge when plugging in or unpluging the 2nd usb
Funny thing is......i do the oposite thing of your video 😅
I have a 140mm fan its says on back 1.40A will this usb lead will. Provide enough power?
Check on the voltage of the fan. You'll want a 5V to get the maximum speed. Most computer fans are rated at 12V so it will run slower.
Nice video
What's the best Fan' Size for this project?
Maybe a 140mm fan is too big for a usb cable.
I'm definitely not gonna use this knowledge to ventilate my vegetable 👁👄👁
Pretty much exactly why I was watching 😆
How to make on off switch for this,? As of now, we have to remove usb cable to switch off or turn turn off power mains if using usb charger.
How about i put a usb to a adaptor and put it in outlet 220v? What will happen?
If you mean a phone adaptor like a Samsung wall charger then nothing bad will happen those wall adapters have step down transformers inside of them they turn the wall power into the usable power a phone needs to charge usually 5v which means the fan won't work at full speed because pc fans usually need 12 volts. But still if you plug it into a phone charger nothing will happen
Just make sure you don't have any loose wires make sure to isolate the red and black cables do not let them touch. Because then it's not safe
How many fans can you run like this I trying to set up a copper cooling for my still water
