I made this with jumbo size wool (Barnet BIG blanket wool) and my pumpkin turned out HUGE (like over a foot wide). Highly suggest trying this pattern with different kinds of wool if you want different sizes! Ty for a great tutorial, you taught me how to crochet :))
i love her voice and this tutorial. i’ve never made a pumpkin before and this was so easy to follow i’d recommend this to anyone starting out like brand new to crocheting
I've tried to learn crochet off and on for 8 years (I am not kidding!) even with the help of people in person, and I always struggled to understand what is a stitch and how to count, your video taught me! I finished the pumpkin and have started my next project already, Thank you so so much!! I love your teaching style and projects ❤
Thank you so much for letting me know! I’m so glad to hear that you were able to crochet the pumpkin 🎃 your comment made my day and best wishes for your crocheting journey 🧶
I was at the end of my pumpkin and I lost count of my stitches. I decided to completely restart my pumpkin which I had already been doing for about 2 hours. Another 2 hours go by and there are lots of holes in the top of mine and I have a massive headache. It is currently 4AM for me. My pumpkin is ugly, but I love it so much. You made an amazing tutorial! Once my headache goes away I will definitely make more pumpkins!
Have made a TON of pumpkins from rectangles - First one ever that started with the magic circle and a flat bottom !! I loved this pattern !! Thank you for a great tutorial 🎉
Still a beginner but just made a pumpkin with your tutorial and it turned out alright! Im sure if I do more I'll get it down, but your video is easy to follow and the pattern is cute. Thank you!
I love this! But also I’ve followed the steps but my pumpkin turned out to be smaller than a medium I must have missed something any tips helps I also do have a stitch marker!
Thank you for the tip about not going through the bottom and tying the knot. I struggle with holding the yarn in place while making the secions. This tip helps.
I have written instructions for 3 sizes. But if you prefer to crochet using video instructions, I would recommend you to crochet with a bigger yarn to get bigger sized projects!
@@CraftyCrochetCastle I don’t know to be honest. I have a crochet pumpkin kit but I don’t understand even how to do the simplest of techniques or where to start
@@beingnormal1899 The magic circle is what she uses to start the pumpkin (the loop she puts the first 8 single crochet stitchs into). If you are just starting, it may be better for you to chain 3 or 4, slip stitch to connect the chain into a circle, then do your starting 8 single crochet into that circle. Though it might be hard to get the hole as tight. The magic circle is a more advanced technique to be able to completely close the hole up. It's probably not your yarn, just that you are still learning and getting a feel for the yarn and hook, which can be super awkward at first. Do you know what brand hook you are using? If it's a kit, I'm thinking it might be a Boye hook. Boye hooks are tapered hooks (smooth edges and no incline at the hook end, she is using a tapered hook in the video, looks like a Clover hook) and can be hard to grab the yarn with. You might want to try an inline hook. These have a sharp, more indented, hook and an incline at the hook end, so they grab the yarn much better (they can split the yarn easier though if your not careful). Susan Bates makes aluminum inline hooks that are good for beginners. I'm actually using a regular aluminum Susan Bates G hook (purple coloured) with a soft grip that slides on for this pattern and it's working great. (I have made over 50 of these pumpkins with it and find they work up pretty fast with the inline hook.) Think a tapered hook might be a little harder for this, due to the small hook size with worsted weight yarn. I'd say this is a more advanced pattern, as it involves the magic circle, increasing and decreasing, and knowledge of how to get a ball shape by doing using increases and decreases. Though I do think it is still perfectly possible for someone new to crocheting to manage, as you are only using one type of stitch and it's a simple pattern. Hope that helps you out a little!
Hello, do I need to turn it inside out at some point pls? I can't seem to be able to find it in the video but I finished off mine and realise that the pattern looks different from yours 😢
Hi. Thank you for reaching out to me. Was the right side of the project on the outside while you were crocheting the rounds? If yes, your project is good. if you can share the pic with me, I’ll be able to help you out. You can send a pic in fb or Instagram. The links are in the description box.

Hmm.. could you be using a smaller sized yarn or a smaller hook?
I’m gonna try this now! I’ll update you on how it goes
I can't wait to hear how your pumpkin turned out :) Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it :)
This is soooooo amazing! Thank you very much! 💗
Your talent is amazing.👍👍
Thank you so much 😀
I am currently crocheting a pumkin😋
mine came out so perfect! thank ypu!
R7-R14 repeated is what made me realize for the first time why people leave markers in the crochet work
Thank you for the tip about not going through the bottom and tying the knot. I struggle with holding the yarn in place while making the secions. This tip helps.
Thank you for your kind words ☺️ I appreciate you taking the time ☺️ Makes me happy 😊
Hopefully I will be clever at crocheting a pumkin.
So nice! How much yarn do you use to make the pumpkin please?
Beautiful ❤️
Thank you 😊
I been looking for the large pumpkin to crochet. Not finding it.
I have written instructions for 3 sizes. But if you prefer to crochet using video instructions, I would recommend you to crochet with a bigger yarn to get bigger sized projects!
@@CraftyCrochetCastle I can do the written instructions. Where is it? Right now I am doing the medium one. I love it. Thank you
I have the large instructions thank you❤
I’m confused. My yarn is about the same size as it’s but it came out like the size of the small one
hey i made this pumpkin sooo good btw but i cant find the large pumpkin pattern ive looked everywhere could someone please help me? XXXXXxxxxxxxx
can you use a paperclip as a stichmarker?
Hi. Yes you can! Be careful not to split the yarn with the pointed end of the paper clip
Ok thank you! 😁@@CraftyCrochetCastle
Thank you!
How do you make the smaller sizes
Video tutorial is for the medium sized pumpkin. Written instructions is available in Etsy or Ravelry for the other 2 sizes.
How many single crochets in the magic circle to start a large pumpkin??
8
Wouldn't that be for the medium pumpkin? @@CraftyCrochetCastle
@@Christine-kc5oi All the sizes start with 8.
Where do i buy your patterns for the other two? I can't find them.
Etsy - craftycrochetcastle.etsy.com/listing/1277978205
How many stitches is the large on bottom?
Hi. I believe it starts with 8 sc.
@@CraftyCrochetCastle not what I meant. What is the size of the large pumpkin. To what number do you go to? (60,72)
How do I get to her raverly store?
Hi. The link is in the description 😊
Thank you !!!!
Thank you for the comment 😊 I appreciate it 😊
This makes no sense to me. My yarn is all over the place and my hook can’t grab it. Am I using bad quality yarn?
