Really looking forward to the show Saturday night. Love all your studio albums. Through worlds of Stardust is Excellent. I really Love EVERY song. The variety and the songs on it are excellent. If I had to pick a favorite it would be " My Word " - wow really rocks & great vocals and guitars and lyrics and Lips of Rain is Beautifully Jaw dropping- chills and goose bumps. This was my favorite song from the movie. I love singing the high notes of the song. Being a tenor I can hit those notes and I only wish I could sing it with a real band and not just in my apartment. You guys wrote a hell of a song and it sucks that 911 hit and you couldn't release it. I think it would have gone to #1 easily. It's such an awesome song.

I will have to agree. I used to think Geoff Tate had the best voice until i stumbled across Rockstar movie in 2001. I remember loving the singer behind the scenes. I just watched Rockstar again yesterday after all these years. Been researching steelheart background and music. This was when music was great.

I was at your 1992 show at McNichols arena in Denver. I remember that incident like it was yesterday. I believe you were only about two or three songs into the set. I literally wore out my Steelheart cassette I played it so many times back then. Was really devastating for me when the show ended as I came to see Steelheart. I remember your guitar player played the into to "I'll never let you go", then quit as a teaser before breaking into another song. I remember later at home thinking, damn it I almost heard I'll never let you go live (which was my favorite song). I saw you at Hermans hideaway here in Denver in 2019. The concert at Hermans made me feel like I was back in 1992 as a young teen, finally seeing the band I really wanted to see. You joined us in the crowd for some sing alongs. Redemption had come and in a big way! Was one of my most memorial concerts. I would also like to add the music of Steelheart has stood the test of time. It was great back then and it's just as good today. Steelheart I salute thee!

By far,,,, One of my favorite songs of all time.... I have been a musician for 30 plus years and have had many friends die along this musical journey.. Good people that were talented but just lost focus and let the business get the best of them.. Its truly a lonely profession and when great songs like this are written,,,,,, We live on forever through the music.. Thank you for sharing this inspiration with the world.

Thanks for sharing. The older I get the more I realize that the biological age of our shell doesn't matter. How much we progressed on our journey is the key. I've seen that vids are out there for -the accident- but I can't watch them. Makes me sick to my stomach and I get enraged just thinking about it which is strange because I don't react that strongly for bad personal memories... But you know, we can't be as cold and ruthless as the world. We wouldn't win that race (didn't stop me from trying...). So now I choose to be the light. A steelheart that slowly softens and bleeds compassion. It's just a better way to live, one day at a time.
Enough with the pathos. For Mili and everyone in the comments section that needs them, I'm sending hugs and 💙 your way.

One of my favorite songs of all time, just an absolute timeless classic!
Great song and great voice but bologna about “Bush and or FCC” banning words. Never happened. I owned and still own tons of TV and radio stations in the South. What did slow everything to a crawl was the almost 24/7 coverage of 9/11 playing out for months and months. That killed the song’s momentum....and of course all of the lives lost! The money I lost also because can’t sell Ad’s if you can’t play them.
Thank you. My brother loved everything you did as his lil sister record it. My brother felt this most. He’s gone now tragically but I’m going to honor my brother with this song. My sadness does not have a date but if you’re in Pittsburgh we will make it work

Talk about timing.. you spoke on the bad timing of the release of We all Die Young as 911 hit.
I was also pretty much literally dying that day.
I was sick..did not know I was for some time. My liver, kidney and organs were all shutting down.
Very early that morning I went into shock, a very high fever that was spiking even higher. I was starting to shake so hard and bad it was like a seizure. I was rushed flighted to a hospital.. my temp was above 107.. I went into a coma. That was the morning of 911.
In my delirium I vaguely recall news and possibly a plane?? Or something really bad going on..a crash maybe.
I awoke from the coma 3 days later. Every channel and news agency blaring at full volume.. I was hooked up to all sorts of machines, wires and tubes. I was in so fckn much pain inside my body. I was still dying. I was 26-27ish.
A week later my system or body basically rebooted itself.
At that time that song would of fit well..I and doctors thought I was not going to make it. I was ready to die young.

STEELHEART - Matejevic such a real musician, very beautiful voice. Love listening to him. I have been around music my whole life. We had my brothers band practice in our basement, and that led me to want to be around musicians because of their soul and creative nature. They are different from other people in the sense that they live to make the sound. Your voice is still the same. Thank for the years of amazing original music. Love

Awesome song, I got a copy of Wait back then and loved the CD. Shangrila became a favorite also. I vibed with the CD and especially this song, We All Die Young as I was going through some dark times. The song comforted me and helped pull me through.

They both have changed as a singers voice gets seasoned and changes with age. The way the artist gets along with it is by letting the crowd participate or singing the songs just a bit different.

The original album art showed the Twin Towers in flames. The release date for that album was 9-11-01. It's not a conspiracy. I DO love the song and the movie, though.

Dude, incredible voice and fantastic song in every way but you are letting your "political roots" shine quite a bit. President George Bush(aka Evil Republicans) did not BAN songs after 9/11 occurred. Clear Channel Communications did, however, ban dozens for what it deemed inappropriate following such an horrific time. As always too many times artists get roiled-up in sheep belief politics. Make great music and sing with that fantastic voice, but stop preaching politics around things you are woefully ignorant about.
I loved the movie and the song. But are you claiming that it was George Bush who banned those words??? I don't think so! Not sure which country you live in, but the President doesn't have that kind of power. Maybe you are confused or mispoke, or just making unecessary excuses on why it wasn't a bigger hit, but that didn't happen. The movie was actually a box-office dud so maybe that was the reason, plus the musical landscape may have not been condusive for that type of song, but to blame the president and lie about him banning words is chicken shit. I still think you are a brilliant singer though.
