GOOD NEWS: this means Evasive will have nearly 2 seasons of testing under their belt, and are thus AHEAD OF SCHEDULE for next year's 100th Anniversary running of Pikes Peak.
Tesla 21700 cells can deliver 9.8A. There are cells that can deliver +30A. So in theory you could replace all the cells and not get all the heat issues. Or even have less cells to reduce weight. No need to lug around cells that hold power that is not used on the track
They couldn't work out there own charging system so I think altering the ceil count or changing the amperage by changing the series is way way beyond the level of these fools

That body kit, epic! Once I do get a model 3 I'll have to install that on my car :p Take that car to Nurnburgring and floor it around there. Might get a sub 7minute lap Maybe mounting the PLAID motors might give you some extra horsepower. But if they fit I don't know.
I have actually wondered about battery pack. Can't it be reduced? You don't need all of the 300 miles of range or whatever it is. Could it be reduced to barely last a full race distance?
It's much easier said than done to modify a battery pack. Plus, range decreases quite significantly when pushing the car to it's limits, especially in an uphill climb. Also, they need the ability to have maximum output, which requires the larger voltage battery pack.

Driving conditions also cut range. Pikes peak is high elevation, uphill, intense acceleration and braking, etc. Cutting batteries would save weight yes, but could also leave them without power.
VW didn't seem to have a issue with the IDR running in 12 mile configuration. But the management system is way too complex for these bodykit fitters to understand.
I don’t know how any customer would want this. Let’s modify your car by making the rear doors useless, making your interior almost useless, basically removing parts, etc lol. I would prefer a modification to make it more powerful, but that’s probably impossible. But I do commend them for their hard work, creativity, and effort. But I would Just get a plaid, it’s probably faster. 😂
Elon musk should be investing on all this electric racing stuff I can't imagine what companies would be able to do with a a Lil more cash and insight from the company.
@@macberry4048 next year's WRC cars (Ford, Hyundai, Toyota) will be hybrid, with a 1.6L engine and power pack for transiting between stages and extra power on stages. Due to the nature of rallying it's going to be very hard for full electric cars to compete.

The Rimac is a 2.3 million dollar base price car. Even a plaid model s at $130k has not chance vs that. Bigger battery, lighter, and 1 more motor.

Not how batteries work.
Not sure how teslas are set up. But off they are done efficiently if you remove half the batteries you get half the output power.
It might be a software thing where Tesla has it locked down so you can't remove or alter drive or battery units.

@H K Elon does seem to have an interest in Motorsport to a certain extent. If he didn’t I don’t think the model s plaid would exist.
I think it's a strong possibility that Tesla will take their world car rally racing. So far Hyundai and Ford have created electric rally cars
