I’m late to the party with my comment. Thanks for making the video. I have had a Stihl MS 180 C-BE since 2016 and have cut enough with it to use a second chain, learned to hand file real good, adjust the rakers (depth gauges on the chain) flip and file the burrs off the bar, switch back to the first chain after learning to sharpen, and I love using this saw. So easy to start, so easy to tighten the chain for cutting and loosen the chain for storage. And when I show people how easy to pull the starter rope is, they just shake their heads in disbelief. “It cuts like a light saber” - one reviewer said on Stihl’s website and I totally agree! I’ve cut 17” rounds of oak, 17”+ rounds of pine, hackberry, Bradford pear, I cut cedar into logs and then into thin planks for cooking salmon on. I have left gas in it every winter and it has never failed to start. I use Stihl’s mix oil most of the time, and Stihl’s Platinum bar oil - I like the thickness of it. I got the woodcutter PPE package that included the helmet with hearing protectors and face shield built in, and apron saw chaps. This saw has served me well and is light and maneuverable enough for me to use 8 hours at a time. It runs out of gas just in time to take a break.
Had mine since late August 2021 and have used it quite a bit. It really is a great small saw and like the video shows, it can tackle some pretty sizeable pieces without too much trouble. Always starts right up and have had no issues. Love it!
I bought mine around 3 years ago, from an authorized dealer. They completed their inspection and I took it home. Months later when I needed it, it wouldn't start. I sat it in the garage where it's been since. Do I need it tuned up by the dealer everytime if it sits for a month or two? Funny enough, the Husqvarna sat for the same amount of time and started right up? I guess that's what I get for having trust in a brand name reputation. MS180, ran once, never used to cut anything. I'll sell it if anyone is interested. Enjoy your day, Friends. Wealth and Happiness.
I’ve owned one for about the same time. It’s a great little saw and more than enough for most jobs. I run mine on a 14 inch bar which again is more than capable of most work. My only criticism of the saw is that I find the oiler has a tendency to block with gunk so it needs regular cleaning.
Yes the oiler has to be regular maintenance. I try to at least superficially clean what I can everytime I sharpen the chain. It has been a good little saw though. Not yet let me down. Thanks!
Great saw...I have same model...nice clean cuts...I just run my file across chain teeth a few times and its sharp like new again...I used it on old plum tree...

Thanks for sharing, that is about my experience as well.

I usually clean my saws after every tank of fuel.
@@viperstrike3827 lmao what kind of work can you get done cleaning after every tank, maybe when the work is done
@@monteman8613 Occasional use. I don't even use my saws every month. I clean after every job, not literally every tank.

Agreed, very good saw for the money for small to medium jobs.
Great video, time saver, thanks gonna get one next week.
Thanks! Mine is Stihl going strong. Lol. All the best!
Thanks for the video. I found it informative to the things I wanted to know about the saw.
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!
Just got a regular ol MS 180 and I love it!
They are a great little saw, especially for the price.
you can use a 14" 50 gauge bar and chain with that saw
Thanks, I was not aware of that.
