We started farming in 1862, I’m the seventh generation and last in sacramento ca. I love to see people using and keeping alive equipment and knowledge of the instruments used by previous generations. It’s American history and legacy. Greatly enjoyed your video and look forward to more.
My uncle had a 1-row mounted picker (snapper) on a Farmall C. Wasn't enough power to pull a loaded wagon and picker on Western Pennsylvania hills. We used it only once because of how difficult it was to hook-up. Love your set-up!
Andrew your commentary is the best. You even made me flinch at the end when I saw that gun come out. Great video Andrew and THE MAN behind the camera. Stay well you guys.
Back in early 60’s we had a WD with a (I think) Gleaner corn picker. Wasn’t AC brand. After corn picking was done, we had a snow storm. The picker was still on the tractor. So, my dad used it to push the snow off of the 1/4 mile long gravel driveway. Oh those were the good old days!
Definite better product picked when a husking bed and fan were added. Without power steering that picker would have been a tiring all day affair. Way better than doing it by hand though.
I always enjoy watching this video every year. I’ve got the same picker that I put on my wd every year. I Pick roughly 10 acres every year. Your missing the top part of your shoot? Blower fans are nice but will make you go deaf.
That's how distillate fuel models came from the factory. Gasoline only tractors came with a straight stack and muffler out the top, but distillate have that pinched pipe on the side.
@@jefffirefighter12106 I've always wondered why Allis did it that way, but never have found an explanation yet. Hopefully someone who knows why will chime in.
@@dylanbywater9955 I know a lot of older farmers who would run a Stright pipe on their tractor, now they are very hard-of-hearing (Almost Deaf). I've found buying a muffler is worth hearing for a long time to come.

My grandfather had one of these pickers in the late 50s/early 60s, on our WD45. Picked our corn plus 3 or 4 neighbors' corn.
And you could set your planter to match your picker. Loved hearing that magneto snapping while cranking ! Nice set-up y'all have there !

NICE! Dad had one of those pickers on a WD. It was too fast so he slipped the hand clutch all day long, made it smoke it got so hot.
Alright! Corn bread!
Nice! What does it say on the back of that wagon? I have one just like it.
Any word on the 4W Andrew ?
Just have a couple leaks to fix and it should be good to go!
@@JandLVideos glad can’t wait to see that big joker moving earth !!!

What kinda wagon is that? Had a fella with the exact same one but didn't know the name of it
I think it was a minnesota wagon, I remember it had a case running gear
Actually it's a Carroll Heider wagon
@@JandLVideos ty much appreciated 👍
Ok. Mine has a 606? Allis running gear under it.

We have the top part but it needs some repair
Love seeing corn picking!
Just wondering, why don't you put a muffler on the tractor. I'm sure you could get one from the factory.

@@dylanbywater9955 Did not know that. I use JD two-cylinders on my farm, as far as I know JD's all came with mufflers even the Distillate ones.
