This time I am hope I can show you how a piece of 5" x 6" leather can be used to make a very simple key holder.
When the key holder is opened, the width is 5" (approx 13 cm) and the length is 3 1/2" (approx 9 cm);
When it is closed, the width is 1 1/2" (approx 4 cm)
A brass D-ring for key rings, and a brass trigger snap hook for attaching to something secure...

Gary, I finally made one of these key holders. I adjusted the dimensions to fit my bigger keys. Thanks for the great idea and the step-by-step instructions

В место колец лучше ставить карабины, подвижность такая же а места займут меньше и вместе наружного карабина надо поставить что то сложнее открывающееся чтоб карманники не расслаблялись :)
that was great! could you list the materials - including your preference of leather, glue, etc. I'm just starting this idea out and need to make sure i got the right stuff.
+Alex Kojfman Thank you!!! The leather was a piece of 1.5mm thick vegetable tanned cow leather; it was dyed with deep brown color when I bought it; the buckle and D ring were brass; with two ordinary snaps for closure!!! Any glue used were "Rubstik contact adhesive"
+garyipip When in doubt, Rubstik it. Great video. When you set a decorative snap or concho, are you using a special anvil that won't mar the design? Thanks.

+Andrei Gotia Thank you!!! The size of the part which you are referring to depends on the size of your buckles, mind was approximately 22mm!!!
is this strange to use for a car key? The whole thing hangs from your steering column - is that distracting? (or can you close it up with 1 key out?)
