Wow, the idea of a toku comic shared universe sounds cool af. Had no idea about this, so thanks for mentioning and recommending it.

Oh yeah forgot about that one…Marvel’s connection to Tokusatsu is pretty deep

@@MrFalconnpunch I know and if you consider toku to be any special effects heavy show regardless of country of origin then technically they have another tokuzatsu license comic series under their belt in the form of Doctor who
Also they're all so surprisingly connected to super robots with stuff like red Ronan from the Godzilla comics and the Shogun warrior comic which made brave raideen, combatler v and danguard ace all Canon to the Marvel universe I'll be at in altered forms originally the was to have great mazinger and getter dragon alongside raideen but Marvel didn't have the licenses, they were all so pivotal in the creation of the transformers as we know them today with their creatives creating a lot of that foundational lore

@@MrFalconnpunch also forgot to mention how Stan Lee was one of the earliest creators to try and bring super Sentai to the West

I wanted read UltraMega at first, but the gore put me off. I think now, knowing what I'm getting, I'll give it another try.

Thank you very much for the recommendations! Radiant Black and UltraMega look rad!
Also since you're covering Yugioh, have you ever read the manga "Chaosic Rune"? Its basically edgelord Yugioh, if youre into that kinda manga.

Unironically I recommend the Brazilian metal hero/sentai comics of the 90s. We always had "third world problems" so besides being 90s stuff it usually looks like 80s American comics.
There is also an Unofficial Spectreman Brazilian comic in which he is blue.
And a recent official Jaspion comic release on 2020

    RedMan sounds freakin' fascinating
UltraMega sounds incredible too. Definitely gonna have to hunt down the first volume of that! The stuff about the real impact of every battle... that stuff especially actually sounds a lot like how I expect Shin Ultraman to be. Watching civilians deal with giant blood splashes seems like a VERY Hideaki Anno thing to include for that...
At any rate, thanks to turning me onto a bunch of these! I'm already into Radiant Black, and now I know what else to look forward to in the Supermassive Universe, but now I definitely have even more stuff to look for. Just gotta figure out the easiest way to nab RedMan: The Kaiju Hunter, hmm... oh, it's like $20 on eBay. That ain't bad! I expected that to be harder, lol.

Yeah I just love that the Redman comic exists and I hope it gets more love and support! Ultra mega quickly become one of my faves for this video and definitely looking forward to Shin Ultraman too!

Shin Hayata and Ultraman don't exactly share a body. Hayata and Ultraman have separate bodies, they just can't exist at the same time. It's like their souls trade places and their bodies change to reflect whichever soul whose turn it is. But weirdly, the act of trading places seems to heal whatever injuries Hayata had at the time of tagging out, and I think there may have been one occasion where an injury Ultraman sustained carried over to Hayata when they swapped out. I guess you could say they share a physical presence, but their bodies manifest differently even if the physical presence is shared.
Anyway, I love Kaijumax and how the Prison Guards are basically Ultraman. The writer clearly understands the genre and how to salvage the parts we try to forget about, and work jokes and social commentary into it while he's at it.
I also really liked the Fire Beast series. More for Kaiju fans specifically than broader Tokusatsu fans, but it knew what it was and what it was commenting on.

I've become paranoid about checking out comics from the last decade because of how bad so many are.
