Thats 'Fast Freddie' and his Pro Modified pickup. 521cubic inch Supercharged on methanol - Think its a Brad Anderson hemi but not 100% sure. He's run in the 5s at over 240mph. He also used to do full-track burnouts and backs up at 80+mph. Search Fast Freddie Burnouts on youtube and you won't be disappointed!
Drag racing in the rain is insane. On the other hand, I heard in Britain that if you stopped doing things because it's raining, nothing would get done.
@@MrEdwinhardesty you’re right about if we stopped doing things in the rain nothing would get done though 😅 It’s the glue they use that gives off a wet shiny look
YOU are insane ya fkn plant pot...its been red hot here for the last 2 weeks and hasn't rained for 2 months, its bollox that it rains all the time, it pisses down in the US and AUS as much as it does here...climate change is real...tick tock...
Some of these are slow,, 40+ years ago a chap I knew ran low 13s at the drags with a hot 186 Holden powered Anglia Van. Plus it did dirt sprints, hillclimbs etc as well. And it was full steel without much rust!
Cool video. Always loved the little Anglias and Topolinos at the drags back in the day.
A lot of cool cars. The banshee 👍🏻.

Als Gasser is still around! I’ve just never managed to capture it on film as he only comes out for a few events per year
Wow mate that was fast fellow Brit mates
What engine is in that 6.3 second car at the beginning, that is a beast!

We would watch fuel alters in u s a. They sounded like.that , back in the 70,s. They were wild and fast.
That sounds are brutal

None of these clips are in the rain, the slightest hint of rain and racing is stopped as it’s dangerous to send a car up the strip in wet conditions.
@@mk1kieran, thanks for the correction. The track sure looks like it's wet, I guess its not.

Nice clip of Shakey at 8:19
Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Not much variety in car bodies. Most looked like they were kit cars.
They can’t alter the windscreen angle and only allowed a maximum 101” wheelbase
@@mk1kieran Didn't know that. Thanks.
