Thank you for watching! Are you looking to pick up an Xbox Series S as your primary console? Do you already have a PS5 and want an Xbox Game Pass machine? Let's chat...
I managed to get a ps5 2 weeks ago. I have an xbox one s. Is it worth getting the series s. I checked out the new assassin's creed and it runs at 30fps on the series s. Just thinking I should leave it and wait to get the series x later in the year.
I've owned both Xbox, PS and Nintendo consoles in the past, but I'm mainly a PC gamer. That being said, I'm seriously considering buying a Series S or X in the future. I've heard lots of satire about the lack of Xbox exclusives at the moment, but that being said, Halo: Infinite is coming and they just bought ZeniMax so I'm sure there's going to be plenty of great exclusives down the line. PlayStation undoubtedly has the upper hand in terms of exclusives for the time being tho'. As a PC gamer, I wasn't excited of the previous gen's console specs (PS4 or Xbox One) if we're being totally honest. They were kind of lackluster to say the least. I can wholeheartedly say that this generation is different and the new Xbox and PlayStation consoles have a certain wow-factor in terms of technical prowess. The consoles aren't a "joke" in terms of power anymore and that's a great thing in my eyes. Have you had any connectivity issues with the Series S controllers btw? And has there been any drifting with the thumbsticks?
Backwards compatibility has always been one of PC's strong suites and I'll admit I never saw it coming that the consoles are finally catching up in that category. When I heard the Series X|S can play Xbox One games, I was impressed, but when it also plays Xbox360 or even the original Xbox's titles, my jaw drops at that point. I totally didn't see that one coming. And I heard Sony's also supporting PS4 titles as well? I'm glad. It always pains me to have tons of older consoles collecting dust simply because I don't want to lose access to my games.
Absolutely right! Although PS have been making some moves to improve their content offering (PS Plus freebies have definitely gotten better over the last couple months), Game Pass is still the best value for money service out there.
@@newrisingmedia yup - I would happily pay £15 - £20 a month for everything. I think the plus collection is a good idea. maybe just add each months psplus games to it and then eventually charge a fee to access it
Just got one two days ago. It’s a fantastic machine for the money, you will not believe the size and it’s totally silent. The Quick resume for at least 4 games is a marvel.
even better buy the official microsoft rechargeable battery for like $20 , then the controller acts like a ps4/ps5 controller instead in terms of charging

@@SparkSpace I've had mine for about a week. Storage is OK if you're the type of person who only plays a few games at a time. @@ronaldraygun6304 oh, I'm thinking of playing Halo infinite, Minecraft, gta 5, rocket league, apex legends, Fortnite, and gang beasts. I will delete the halo infinite campaign when done and play the ori games. Do you think it's enough for that?
@@SparkSpace ye most likely if you don't have enough space just delete the game and redownload it when u want to play it again because of how fast the speed of the console is it should be relatively easy to do plus if you spend an additional 60 pounds then you shall be able to get a card allowing 1 terobyte for additional storage
Great one month review. I bought a PS5 two weeks ago and ordered a Series S today. I’m looking forward to my first Xbox experience...liked and subscribed.
I just watched your video and then checked the Microsoft Store on a whim, and they had them in stock in the UK! I've ordered mine at MSRP from Microsoft themselves! Anyone else in the UK reading this should get on it ASAP!!!
I'm a independent gamer i like xbox and playstation games a true gamer plays all games he can get his hands on and that's the bottom line because i said so.
You should at least get an Xbox One X and not the Series X. Xbox One X might be last gen now but still better then spending $700 on a Series X. That is if you can get a good price on them used since console market as went up in price even used launch PS4s. I have Xbox One X and Series S but I like having the Xbox One X for physical media. That said I have been with PlayStation since PS1 and still want a PS5 but I love both companies systems. Can't say I like Sony's censorship stuff that's been going on though.
This is a perfect console for a Sony and Nintendo player such as myself. I will be getting a ps5 once I can get it from a store so this is an excellent side console to play gears and game pass. This thing looks awesome on my 4K TV and I don't care about fps so is perfect for me. Looking forward to future Xbox exclusives since gears and Ori are the only Xbox exclusives I like. This thing will save me a lot of money on games. This is my first time getting an Xbox and I love my series S.
Exactly! It's a great console to have for those who aren't so fussy about resolution and frame rate, and just want to play the great games that will be coming from Xbox Game Studios over the years and plenty of other titles on Game Pass.
Got my "S" a couple of weeks ago... Absolutely love it. I wasnt sure how much difference there was gonna be compared to Xboxone, but seriously, its a different level both visually & audio. Its compact, definitely portable but feels quality & fits in nicely with my set up. The Gamepass Ultimate is real vfm, more games than you will ever need... inc top titles, indie & EA sports. The storage issue is not insurmountable & you got cloud gaming! All things considered, for £200 (got a deal) its a no brainer.. Next gen gaming without spending half a grand.
Really good stuff... have my PS5 and it's unplugged collecting dust while I've been doing as much xcloud as possible. Realized I just need to get a console... beyond happy with the S.
Currently enjoying my switch but I'm considering a series S as a complimentary device. The graphic leaps aren't what they used to be and I'm too old to care about the hype so seem like the most obvious combo for me.
I’m getting the Series S as a second console to the PS5 (I still don’t have one😑) to play Xbox exclusives and backwards compatible 360 games. It should come this weekend I’m so excited, it’s my first Xbox ever!😀
Thanks for this video, just picked up a Series S after watching this. I'm also a life long PlayStation gamer as my main console but this thing was too good to ignore, especially after the E3 showing from MS last night. Great video! It helped make my decision to buy one a lot easier! Subbed to the channel :)
I was a playstation fan but in 2006 give or take a year or two Xbox had ace combat 6 but not on ps3, so I am a big fan of ace combat games still going strong even today since 1994 ps1 yes that strong so the only thing I could do is to buy a Xbox just to play it and not gone back since to a playstation. But I was going to get a cheap ps4 just to play the last of us 2 but we all know what happen to that..... thank God for the leaks of this game because the first one also with metal gear solid is still today is one of the best games ever made in gaming history....
Bro I feel your pain trust me I been with playstation for over 10 years but my account recently got banned from some1 hacking into my account..so I sold my ps4 and got a Series S off offer up for a great price and I actually love it man..somany different games to download once you get game pass
Well the original Xbox 1 that was made all the way back in late 2013 still can play current titles so I would beilive the series S will deliver the same experience
I have a ps5, switch and a powerful pc. But I want that xbox console experience again, my last one was the “xbox one”. I wanna have that game pass and play all of those games. Also, I really miss Halo a lot. Can’t wait to play Halo Reach again
I actually prefer the UI of the xbox more now. I didn’t at first but like 2 weeks in it suddenly clicked for me. The XSX is my first Xbox. Have been with Sony since 2009. Im using my XSX more than my ps5 and am thinking of getting an XSS for my desk only bc the XSX is still hard to get. If not i’d get another XSX and put it on my desk. Microsoft really won me over. I’m only using ps5 for exclusives now.
Tbh I don’t even see a point of getting a console with a disc drive because you still need to download the game regardless. You can’t just pop the disc in anymore like ps2 or ps3 and play. I may just get the s and stick with the digital console. My only worry is I don’t want to ever lose all my games that I’ve purchased which is why I like have the game physically In my hand but like I said now adays you can’t just pop a disc in and play. The disc today is basically just a copy right of the game you want to install into your console rather than going to the network store and buying it directly from there
Before Game Pass, I’d disagree with you, as it means you’re stuck with online store pricing, but it’s such a good value package that it makes this more than worthwhile.
Excellent review man! Sony guy who had an Xbox 360 that suffered the red ring of death. Always liked xbox tho. So coming from a ps4 to a series s it is. Playstation 5 in a year maybe.
Absolutely - it's why I highlight that it's not an essential combo, as you'll have more than enough fun on one or the other! But definitely worth waiting too, as you'll probably start to see some of the next gen first party games come to fruition on the Xbox side of things by the end of the year.
Always been a playstation guy but my son gave me his xbox one s and I love game pass. I'm not a hard core gamer so do I get the xbox s or x? Does the s look good on a 4k hdr TV?
A series S looks great on a 4K TV and which one you pick is up to you and your budget. Of course if you can afford the more powerful system, get that. I got my Series S purely because that's what I can afford and I love it!
PS gamer here. Always loved Xbox. I just ordered a Series S. I'm very excited for Game Pass. It's been a few years since I've been in the Xbox ecosystem. I feel like a fat kid in a candy shop.
Im always become a ps fanboy ever, but so tempted to tried xbox-s due to the pricing offered. Just explore more on the game pass and notice that the game is non-playable (even after u downloaded into ur local drive) if the developer has taking out from gamepass. Is it a dealbreaker? Playing ur game occasionally and notice that its longer payable at one time?
Being a Sony boy since I am little, I never had a xbox. And since the ps5 will be my main console, the series s is a good side console and casual use case. Even though the Series S can be your main console, let's just hope that developers won't butcher the series s .. like prioritizing the Series X and then doing a cheap and lazy downgrade for the Series S and call it "optimized" instead of actually making a true version for Series S. Exemple ( medium- there are literally missing shadows. ) To be honest , i m all out for fuller images over resolution. I like better a 1080p with all settings maxed out instead of 4k with lower settings, for exemple. 🤔 I thinks the series s is a good challenge to develop games on.. And I also think that 1080p will be the average resolution overall, I mean 1080p isn't bad , especially if it means having more details and Fidelity in-game . Also keep in mind that we are still in a era where 1080p is still the king, we have barely put the toes into the 1440p gaming Anyway. At the moment i write this comment , the 4k isn't needed, although more comfortable, it's useless. No game require to have the 4k resolution, When we stepped up from the hd ready (720p ) to full hd(1080p ) It was mainly because it was holding back the possibilities in visuals as well as the fps games . When you had to zoom far away the 1080p was more than a comfort, it was necessary and 1080p is still Rick solid. Heck playing the ps4 slim on my 4k TV on monitor mode is great, it s still sharp 👌
As a Xbox and PC fan, i did purchased a Ps3 and Ps4 back then since the failure of the Xbox One, the original Xbox and the Xbox 360 were amazing consoles!!, and now i´m back home to the Xbox family. The fact of the matter is that good games was mostly what i was after, not console war nonsense. I´m happy that a lot of PlayStation fans for the first time trying Xbox gaming in their lives and see what they have missed out on, and most PlayStation fans may not know it but if it weren't for Microsoft´s innovations on the Xbox brand there wouldn't be a Ps4 success to begin with. Like online gaming, friends lists, achievements /Trophies, better service offers, exclusives, Xbox has contributed a lot of amazing stuff for the console gaming market that many people overlooked.
The gaming industry moves up as a whole on the shoulders of their competitors' successes. It's why I always highlight in any console review video that we can all love each other - it's games. If they all get better thanks to each others innovations, there's really no point complaining!
Just bought mine and I love it. I'll still get a PS5 down the line but for now my series S is an awesome entry into next gen systems. Couldn't be happier with it.
Not just casuals - all gamers. At a time when we're all penny pinching, Microsoft have pulled off something great with offering this at a decent price point, making for a cheap and cheerful way into next gen gaming for everyone!
I really hope devs back up what I hope will happen.. I think there being a lower spec console aside the more powerful Series X will cause more games to be scalable between the two, and therefore improve support for these consoles down the line and even improve the pc ports since the devs are already designing their games to work on both the X and S. I love microsoft's support of PC porting and such, and that's why I've bought an S (also the emulation and especially backward compat and enhancement of older games is an absolute console seller for people that are more PC-inclined). I think its all genius and a massive improvement on the value of the last gen (which I wasn't even slightly tempted by PS4 or Xbone). Just thought I'd throw in my two cents as a PC gamer.
Thank you for your two cents! The scalability is what I'm hoping for - confident it will happen on Microsoft first party titles, but guess we've got to wait and see how third party studios work to scale their games in the future. Should be possible as they have the same architecture, but whether they feel the reduced power of the Series S restricts their vision or not is another story.
I once owned a PS1, Xbox360 (Died because if RROD). Took years of hiatus and now wanted to dip back as casual gamer and for the kids.. Wanted to have a next gen console unit but my TV just not too advanced. Wanna play old games that haven't tried. So this idea of Xbox Series S is very good to the likes of my demographics. Don't care much about the 512 GB as we casual gamer plays 1-3 titles a month. And to think for only few dollars i could dip my hand freely to all those classics is such a bargain. And the simple design and quietness is just good for me. My wife thought it was an upgraded Android Mi Box for a while..😁.
Una pregunta, es posible aprovechar las ofertas de 1 euro de gamepass haciendo una cuenta tras otra y poniéndolas como principal? Por lo tanto desde tu cuenta original puedes ir jugando los juegos de cada cuenta nueva de gamepass
I never owned a console and i would like to play some games ...i remain busy throughout the day with my studies and college and might hardly get time to play games...but I want to...i really don't care about 4k or the storage because most of the games i want to play first are from the last decade like Alan Wake , AC unity etc..will this console be enough for me?
Absolutely! It's an affordable machine and Game Pass is the best value service in gaming right now (Alan Wake is actually available on there right now).
The Series S is NOT less powerful than the xbox one x. Not even on paper. The teraflop comparison is not 1 to 1...series s and x use newer architecture. 1tf on series consoles is > than 1 teraflop on the xbox one consoles
Problem is say a game like Final Fantasy XV is considered an Xbox One/One S on Series S as in I can't select the performance options for resolution or frame rate. Meanwhile I can on my Xbox One X which helps make game look better.
Unless you're a blind PS fan boy, you know the Series S is a helluva good deal, especially with Game Pass. It's a no brainer for casuals as well. Now, in a couple of years, I think you'll want to upgrade to an X or a PS5, but come on, let's get real, £450 for either of those is overkill as of right now.
The batteries argument on the XBOX controller is a load of rubbish, we can change batteries when needed, we can put chargeable batteries in so they wont need changing and the best of all is when your Sony controller is knacker you need a new controller while we just put new chargeable in
U can just buy plug n play for xbox controller there u have a wireless controller like ps5 and if the battery get bad u don't have to buy a whole new controller 🙂
I hade THE old Xboxes Xbox and XBOX 360 and singer then I am playing Nintendo Switch. Nöje I miss playing Halo and Gears of war and I Will buy a Xbox series S.❤️👍
Do your homework dude. Digital foundry has already stated the gpu from the xbox one x is less capable that the gpu from the series s because of the rdna2 architecture. The cpu is light years ahead of the xbox one x, not to mention the xbox velocity architecture. So you must be ignoring all of that and be basing your conclusion on 2 gigs of ddr 5 ram lol. Well done. I don't have a dog in this fight, and I don't really care which is more powerful, but it gets frustrating listening to people who are not prepared. Ignore the 6 teraflops from the one x. 4 teraflops from the rdna2 is equivalent to closer to 8 teraflops on the old GCN gpu on the one x.
All you game reviewers and console reviewers are missing the biggest point of all when comparing which console you should get.....you can't get the bloody other one aaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!. We have no choice!!!!
I would really looks at lowering the rock music for future videos I stopped watching because I couldn’t hear you well and it became frustrating. Seemed like a good vid though
I think we all were playstation gamers as a kid growing up especially us 90 babys we had other console but we all know playstation was just on a different level then all the other console I liked the dream cast dont get me wrong but playstation were it was period Xbox didn't come till later down the line loved the games but couldn't stand that big stupid ass bulky controller lol but xbox is my favorite console today tho Ps5 is more fun to play
from a hardware perspective, the series S is not worth it compared to the series X. The cost of the disk drive, the higher SSD storage and the better graphics hardware together costs more than the price difference between the series S and the series X. Value for money is on the series X. Furthermore with the diskdrive, you can buy and sell games and recuperate on the cost of games and probably only lose 50% on cost of games. So if you have bought $1,000 worth of games, after selling them off, you'll have only spent $500 at the end of the Series X lifecycle. If you sell the games earlier on, you'll lose even less money. On top of that, you don't have any ongoing cost of monthly subscriptions to xbox game pass. Contrary to popular belief, I see Series S is for hardcore gamers and Series X is for casual gamers. Why ? cos's hardcore gamers spends a lot of hours on games and wants to play as many games as possible. So Xbox subscription pass makes sense. Casual gamers only plays a few games a year and a fraction of time on games. Disk games makes sense for these gamers. why pay for buffet meal when you have a small appetite ? They tend to play less games and more time to finish these games as gaming frequency is much less. With games coming and going on the Xbox pass, before one finishes the game, the game is moved out. Also casual gamers can use their console as a media center for watching 4K movie discs and music CDs, which the Series X is perfectly suitable. Netflix can only stream >1 year old movies. Anything current, will need movie discs, which also provides the best quality uncompressed video compared to compressed Netflix streamed videos.
I share your reasoning! I got the Xbox Series S paired with Samsung Oddysey G5 (1440p - 144Hz) and the upgrade from PS4 1080p 60Hz is a joy, really feels next-gen. Will get a ps5 for the responsive controller and 4k in a couple year, might be more affordable. I recommend if any of you are hesitating like i was before!
@@andrewrzepecki7879 exactly the same here upgraded from ps4 which is 60hz the 120hz on the xss is just a dream funny thing is I sold my ps4 slim for £200 at the time and upgraded to next gen xss for extra £50 only lmao
I've been with playstation since ps1. Last year i bought xbox one x Gears 5 limited edition, Game Pass Ultimate is the best pro consumer subscriptions out there, better than playstation plus, ps now.
Bruh did this guy seriously say one x is more powerful... gpu isn't only thing to take into consideration. Series s has better ram ddr6, has better cpu, has ssd
@@newrisingmedia and also take in consideration that one x is targeted at 4k just makes it worse for one x life span. If series x supposed to be 4k gaming machine it has 12 tflops with better cpu, gpu and ram and sss than how do ppl expect the one x which is weaker than series s to be able to output 4k. Unless they end up lowering resolutions down to 1080p like series s or have horrible frame rate. And even at that u still don't get ray tracing. What I'm saying is one x is already too outdated and shouldn't even be compared to series model but for some reason so many youtubers like yourself think otherwise which I can't comprehend
100% highly recommend getting a Series S/X. I was going to get a PS5 as I've always been a Playstation gamer (due to friends gravitating that way really) but I got a Series S instead due to availability... best decision ever! I think Xbox has snatched me over 😅 such a great console and a fantastic service in general. You probably would barely touch ya Playstation after getting a new Xbox with Gamepass 💥💯
Good choice Bob Vance (Vance Refrigeration) - even on a 4K TV, the games on a Series S look great. And if super high refresh rates don't bother you that much, the low price of this is crazy good value for money.
GCN vs RDNA are non comparable, two different architectures regardless of teraflops deficit. I will say it’s great having the choice of the controller battery. Had non serviceable items that Sony use can’t wait for people to wreck their pads 🤦🏼♂️
Bruh, come on think clearly about the battery situation, you really wanna replace a complete controller for £60, once a lithium batteries dies inside it? Having replaceable batteries is about CHOICE, you can use double A batteries or you can go out and buy a battery pack. and once those battery packs die? Go get another one for £20 why would you willingly accept having to pay more when something as simple as a battery dies? This is how we ended up with phones where we can't replace batteries either. Don't get me wrong i LOVE the dualsense, there is one sat on my desk now, i love using it for playing PC games. Even though i haven't been able to get my hands on a PS5 anywhere. but i would like it even more if the batteries where replaceable, because once again the battery life in a dualsense controller is a joke. I haven't used an Xbox Series controller yet, but in my many experiences with Xbox One controllers i'm willing to bet the battery life will absolutely destroy the DS. I disagree with your opinion of the Xbox UI aswell, again can't get a PS5 so haven't used the UI though i have used playstation 4 UI which the PS5 is just an extension of, i've never really been into the whole cross UI thing i think you have to scroll to far to find games (if they are further along in your played history) it may just be experience of having used the Xbox UI for much longer and feeling more at home there i don't know
You make some fair points that all lead back to the subjectivity of this review! As a PS gamer most of my life (I didn't use an XBONE at all), the UI took me a while to get used to and there are some inspirations they could take from PS (not all, the PS UI is certainly not perfect) to make it simpler like splitting up games and apps into separate parts and simplifying the multi-directional tiled menu. I will die on this hill about the batteries though, and I'm glad it's causing a spirited debate. Not against choice whatsoever, and you are correct in saying the batter on an Xbox controller is longer than what I get on the PS5 pad. But given the environmental and ethical standards of many disposable batteries, and just how much more convenient a pad with a rechargeable battery would be, to me there's just no excuse. I'd be more than happy to pay the RRP of a PS5 pad (£10 more) for an Xbox controller with a play & charge kit. Even if the battery was built-in, in the long run, it will ultimately cost a lot less than either of the replaceable battery use cases - going through many single-use disposable AAs or using rechargeable AAs for the average 600-800 charges they have a lifespan for and then still throwing them out.
@@newrisingmedia So in the Xbox UI first of all the apps and games are split up just under the single “games and apps header” but when you dive in you have a tab for games and a tab for apps. As for the rest of the UI it’s all split out into unique headers but it’s also very customisable so you can hide or move headers that you like more and in that sense I think it’s the customisation that might make it seem a little more “daunting” to new comers perhaps? I feel like with the Xbox UI it’s more about giving the player the power to modify it where as the PlayStation UI is very fixed. Could they improve it? Sure Xbox gets a big update normally once a year that refreshes the UI so it’s possible in 2 years time we’ll be discussing a completely different UI Again I certainly don’t hate the PlayStation UI I think it’s fine but coming at it from the opposite side of the fence where PlayStation hasn’t been my main console since the PS2 so I’ve just not been as exposed to cross media. I really disliked in the on the PS3 they improved it slightly with the PS4 but it still needed work IMO and presumably they’ve improved it again with the PS5 though I can’t say because I haven’t used it. My problem is they don’t do large scale overhauls regularly enough and in my view there are still some things they need to do to improve the user experience. As for the batteries debate, I definitely appreciate your concern for the environment! We should all be very mindful of it! But without looking into it and please correct me if I’m wrong and you know more. But surely wasting an entire controller when the lithium battery dies is a lot more damaging to the environment then AA batteries? I’m thinking plastics, rubber rare resources in the controllers no easy way to recycle them (unlike batteries) seems to me that is much more wasteful... again correct me if I’m wrong.
You hit the nail on the head. PS5 for exclusives and major 3rd party titles - paired with a Series S for GamePass and backwards compatibility for the classics. (And I like using rechargeable AA batteries. Makes for an easy quick swap when you run out of juice 😊 )
The more of these videos I do, the more annoyed I seem to be getting at using disposable batteries for some odd reason haha! I've got some rechargeable ones that are handily doing the trick 😀 And exactly! Microsoft have banked on that with a console this cheap, and its paying off looking at how many PS5 owners have picked up a Series S for some Game Pass action.

Great one month review. I bought a PS5 two weeks ago and ordered a Series S today. I’m looking forward to my first Xbox experience...liked and subscribed.
Thank you for the kind words and the sub - means a lot! You're going to really enjoy your Series S buddy.
I've always owned both . Just my personal perspective is the ps has always looked a slight bit better and xbox has always moved smoother .
Yeah I've got a ps5 disc version.. just ordered the series s for my bedroom gaming. So can't wait.
I just watched your video and then checked the Microsoft Store on a whim, and they had them in stock in the UK! I've ordered mine at MSRP from Microsoft themselves! Anyone else in the UK reading this should get on it ASAP!!!
Picking one up tomorrow 👌🏻
I ordered one yesterday, just for the fact I miss Halo every now and then. I’m looking forward to seeing what the “Netflix of gaming” has to offer.
Did you get it and how is the experience?
Same master chief collection is dope until infinite comes out
I'm a independent gamer i like xbox and playstation games a true gamer plays all games he can get his hands on and that's the bottom line because i said so.
Lol true tho
The Xbox series S is 400$ and the Xbox series X is 600$ Canadian....and a PC build will cost 1400$ so a console is tempting to buy
Yo…. As a Sony guy…. The series s is freakin awesome! Wouldn’t say I’d go out and now get an X… but it opened my eyes.
0:05 “So what am I doing with the Xbox SX” 🤣🤣 You had me laughing from beginning to end lolll. Enjoyed the vid. You got a new sub!🙌🏾
Have had my Series S for 4 months now. It's awesome! Also, great review. Keep posting!
Great to hear you're enjoying your Series S and thanks for the kind words!
My first Xbox and I love it ❤️
Nice one! Thanks for checking out my video Khalil!

Really good stuff... have my PS5 and it's unplugged collecting dust while I've been doing as much xcloud as possible. Realized I just need to get a console... beyond happy with the S.
So u got a ps5 for no reason
Wanna sell it?
I don't know why it's hard to admit that MS came to compete this gen. The PS5 is nice but far from perfect and not above criticism
I got lucky yesterday on walmart.com. Not paying scalper pricing so $299 was great for next gen and 120 Hz
Same here
Thanks for this video, just picked up a Series S after watching this. I'm also a life long PlayStation gamer as my main console but this thing was too good to ignore, especially after the E3 showing from MS last night. Great video! It helped make my decision to buy one a lot easier! Subbed to the channel :)
If you haven't already upgrade your game pass to ultimate, ultimate includes EA Play which puts the icing on the cake 👍

Im a long time PlayStation fan and im thinking of getting it because the ps5 is so hard to get now.
Bro I feel your pain trust me I been with playstation for over 10 years but my account recently got banned from some1 hacking into my account..so I sold my ps4 and got a Series S off offer up for a great price and I actually love it man..somany different games to download once you get game pass
Same I'm thinking on this too
You are so underated!
Thank you. Means a lot!
Picking one up tomorrow dude! You’ve also earnt yourself a sub. Great work :)

The Series S can do upscaled 4k 120hz with hdmi 2.1
Wait you can technically play 4k 120 on the Series S?

Just bought one, on back of this video! Thanks.
I want Xbox series S because I just want to play battlefield 2042 , new forza and Halo infinite multiplayer
The ui can be customised
Excellent review man! Sony guy who had an Xbox 360 that suffered the red ring of death. Always liked xbox tho. So coming from a ps4 to a series s it is. Playstation 5 in a year maybe.
Thanks dude - appreciate it! All next gen consoles will find their true worth after a year or 2, so it's good to wait on that ps5
Managed to get the Series X.... but this still tempts me due to the portability and low price.
PS5 and Series S is great combo if you have the money and space. Personally I’ll wait for Black Friday and get a series S even cheaper.
Absolutely - it's why I highlight that it's not an essential combo, as you'll have more than enough fun on one or the other! But definitely worth waiting too, as you'll probably start to see some of the next gen first party games come to fruition on the Xbox side of things by the end of the year.
@@newrisingmedia yeah it’s a waste of time right now until Forza, Halo and MS Flight sim are available.
XSS + GamePass = best gaming deals EVER . PS5 + XSS = best gaming solution EVER
C-C-C-Combo breaker!
Exemple ( medium- there are literally missing shadows. )
To be honest , i m all out for fuller images over resolution.
I like better a 1080p with all settings maxed out instead of 4k with lower settings, for exemple. 🤔
I thinks the series s is a good challenge to develop games on..
No game require to have the 4k resolution,
When we stepped up from the hd ready (720p ) to full hd(1080p )
It was mainly because it was holding back the possibilities in visuals as well as the fps games . When you had to zoom far away the 1080p was more than a comfort, it was necessary and 1080p is still Rick solid.
Heck playing the ps4 slim on my 4k TV on monitor mode is great, it s still sharp 👌
I'm very satisfied and thrilled for having my Xbox Series X 🤠

I rather have the batteries bc if u don't have them how long would it take u to plug it in so u can play. Just get rechargeable batteries
Fantastic budget console......Coupled with game pass, this is the best deal in gaming.
perfect for everyone really.
I'm getting the series x but s also seems like a great deal for casual gamers.
Not just casuals - all gamers. At a time when we're all penny pinching, Microsoft have pulled off something great with offering this at a decent price point, making for a cheap and cheerful way into next gen gaming for everyone!
I dont see this device as not as next gen.. 1080 game still relevant for longer than we assume..
With game pass and casual gamer, this is for you..
Haha got away with that for a little while before she realised you had a console! Great choice on the Series S buddy

Problem is say a game like Final Fantasy XV is considered an Xbox One/One S on Series S as in I can't select the performance options for resolution or frame rate. Meanwhile I can on my Xbox One X which helps make game look better.
Unless you're a blind PS fan boy, you know the Series S is a helluva good deal, especially with Game Pass. It's a no brainer for casuals as well.

really, s is the one to get.
The batteries argument on the XBOX controller is a load of rubbish, we can change batteries when needed, we can put chargeable batteries in so they wont need changing and the best of all is when your Sony controller is knacker you need a new controller while we just put new chargeable in
Why would any one use disposable AA batteries. Get rechargeable ones.
Good review tho.

Playstation is and always will be my brand of choice but the series s is a great companion for my ps5 which is my main system.
Over the long term, its become pretty neck and neck for me. I'm really enjoying the PS5, but the XSS game pass library is getting so good.

Its a mini Beast!
from a hardware perspective, the series S is not worth it compared to the series X.
Just got one today
Good choice! Enjoy it buddy
I’m not sure did anyone else already said that to you, but you look like Freddie Highmore...

I share your reasoning! I got the Xbox Series S paired with Samsung Oddysey G5 (1440p - 144Hz) and the upgrade from PS4 1080p 60Hz is a joy, really feels next-gen.

True, and I didn’t make it clear I was referring to gpu, so that does sound like a wild statement. Sorry about that!

Good choice Bob Vance (Vance Refrigeration) - even on a 4K TV, the games on a Series S look great. And if super high refresh rates don't bother you that much, the low price of this is crazy good value for money.
Fizzy drink, biscuit, lorry.
GCN vs RDNA are non comparable, two different architectures regardless of teraflops deficit. I will say it’s great having the choice of the controller battery. Had non serviceable items that Sony use can’t wait for people to wreck their pads 🤦🏼♂️
Have a series s not excited
Ps5 can't compare with the X it can only compare with xbox budget system let that settle in fan boys
You also could just get a series x instead of ps5 and s
Sure Xbox gets a big update normally once a year that refreshes the UI so it’s possible in 2 years time we’ll be discussing a completely different UI
Again I certainly don’t hate the PlayStation UI I think it’s fine but coming at it from the opposite side of the fence where PlayStation hasn’t been my main console since the PS2 so I’ve just not been as exposed to cross media.
I’m getting mine in 1 week
You hit the nail on the head. PS5 for exclusives and major 3rd party titles - paired with a Series S for GamePass and backwards compatibility for the classics.
(And I like using rechargeable AA batteries. Makes for an easy quick swap when you run out of juice 😊 )
The more of these videos I do, the more annoyed I seem to be getting at using disposable batteries for some odd reason haha! I've got some rechargeable ones that are handily doing the trick 😀
And exactly! Microsoft have banked on that with a console this cheap, and its paying off looking at how many PS5 owners have picked up a Series S for some Game Pass action.
