Hey guys! As I always say, just because these didn’t work out for me doesn’t mean they are bad perfumes! Hopefully I kept the tone light and inoffensive and we can still be friends! 🤣 Let us know below what were fails for you! 😄
Hi Chris!💛 The church evacuation story was hilarious. 😂 My biggest disappointment was D&G The One. I thought I would love it, but I have to layer with vanilla to really enjoy it. I still have it, but I don’t prefer fragrances that must be layered. I sold quite a few fragrances in 2024. With the exception of The One, I can choose anything I own and love it. Here’s to smelling great in 2025!🥂🥂🥂 Wishing you a happy and healthy new year. 💛
You are my absolute favourite fragrance content creator and I know many of them! Love everything about your channel: eloquent and well spoken gorgeous lady who has such an exquisite taste in fragrances. Happy new year! Looking forward to watching your content in 2025 🎉
Cuman is your kryptonite 😮. Two Phlurs I have and LOVE… Vanilla Skin and Missing Person. Even my Vanilla Skin body mist lasts a long time (for a body mist) 5-6 hours for me. I blind buy too much because I don’t have direct access to perfume sources where I live. I have found where I can purchase samples so hope I improve. Thank you so much for your efforts to keep us all smelling good. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great video Chris.. You are spot on with rouge malachite and Quattro Pizzi. I have both but I am selling rouge malachite as I prefer QP due to the coconut and tobacco notes.
I loved it also. I probably should have done what you did; declutter Rouge and keep Quattro but (because I love coconut) but since Quattro was brand new and I sprayed it a few times I thought it would be easier to declutter….❤️
Agree completely about Quattro Pizzi, was underwhelmed and gave it to a friend, who loves it. You did really well with your blind buys, since as a content creator you have to try alot of fragrances. You really do have fabulous taste! Have a great weekend.
The church evacuation...hands down the best description...🤣🤣. I am so sorry 1970 didn't work out for you...I am sure you let it sit for a while, but maybe come back to it? I bought Chocolate Oud by Toni Cabal....whoa...OUD capital letters was all I smelled..it was incredibly overwhelming and I was going to let it go...but I forgot about it and pulled it out recently...whew...Chocolate coming thru. Anyway, great video as always 😀 you look gorgeous as always (quiet luxury all the way). Still enjoying Vanilla Eclat..🥰. Happy New year!
Happy new year, beautiful lady!!!! I only buy decant/samples!!! I learned the hard way after I bought TK Coffee Addict and TR Kirke! Coffee Addict smelled like old coffee that had been spilled on me and Kirke is just so screechy! I love watching your videos!
I blind bought Quattro Pizzi and immediately knew it wasn't for me. I'm letting it sit for a good while and try again. Thankfully I didn't have any other fails!! Happy New Year, Chris!🎉
Good morning Chris! I managed to purchase one blind buy last year and it’s arriving today - Stash! I’m not worried if I don’t like it since I paid less than $40.
Oh, I like that one, but I suggest don’t overspray a little goes a long way and I love overspray, but since I wore it out and didn’t take that advice, I haven’t been able were again, but I kept it because I do like it. It’s different and interesting
@@kristinmary4025 I see what you mean! I just got home and opened my package. It is a powerful smell! Chris is right, it is definitely a beautiful sandalwood. I’m only disappointed that I accidentally purchased a tester with no cap 🫤
Hey, Chris! I'm glad you said that about the Molton Brown Recharge Black Pepper, because I love the body wash, too, and I was considering the EDT, but worried after I read a review that it would be too barber shop-like, and you have confirmed that it is too masculine/ barber shop. Thanks! I'll just continue to enjoy the body wash. I did make a new Molton Brown purchase, though, and that was to replenish my supply of Milk Musk, which I forever love. To be honest, I didn't make too many disastrous blind buys, though I did have a disappointment: I finally bought Atelier des Ors' Rouge Saray and it lasts all of 10 minutes on me so I will very rarely reach for it because one thing I can't stand is lack of longevity, because I sometimes work 10 hour days and I need to smell good at least to myself for the duration.
Yoooo, I’m the person who bought your Papyrus! It was a blind buy too, and I actually really love it. I think that it’s the first fragrance of this type I own, and I’m very happy with it.
@ThePerfumeNest I definitely see how that scent can go waaaay too green and almost astringent. I have to be careful not to overspray it, because I will smell like a veggie merchant stall. BTW, I also snagged your Broceliande, but that wasn't a blind buy. To me, it's a delicious lemon bar scent, and I don't get the civet in it. I'm just lucky, I guess 😆
Couldn't agree more about Strawberry Letter. Was so excited to finally get, and I'm glad I only blind bought the travel spray. Just an overpriced strawberry soapy clean frag that didn't last :/ still waiting to find my perfect FRESH strawberry dream! Maybe an idea for a spring note-focused video? 👀 but i actually like them as a house overall! i really enjoyed Somebody wood and Phloria (got on sale).
I had some blind decant fails, but I did pretty well with fragrances in 2014. Or rather, I found a lot of loves in 2024. 😊 I still use the fails sometimes but none have become loves, and that’s okay.
The only blind buy fail on this list I've experienced is 1970, and I ordered a decant of this one, absolutely sure it was so very up my alley... and I struggle with it. I'm sure it's got to be that cumin for me now that you mentioned it, I just assumed maybe I was struggling with patch. The strange thing is that I still find it interesting enough to spray, usually just once on my wrist or back of hand every once in awhile because I also sort of like how it develops.
Hi Cris, your hair and makeup are flawless as always. I also need to stop with the blind buys-I have 4 perfumes on the way, and all 4 are blind buys. One of them is one you mentioned, Quatro Pizzi, but I love tuberose, so I got the 30ml. If it’s decent, for the price I paid, it’ll still be worth it. I’m hopeful! The others are: Oud Blanc by Van Cleef, Vanilla Planifolia by Chloé, and Magenta Tanzanite by Armani. But the reviews for these are excellent, so I think I have a good chance of a successful blind buy. However, I really need to stop buying without testing!
Thank you!!!! 🙏🏻❤️❤️ Scent Split has saved me from sooo many blind buys. I just get a decants now. But they don’t carry the Giorgio Armani Prive line unfortunately.
Hi Chris!! Happy New Years! I had a couple of expensive fails this year as well. I think I am happy with my current collection and will make it is point to sample first before purchasing any perfumes this year. Hopefully I can stick to it. I just blind bought guidance 46 even though I hated guidance.🤞 (last one)
Hi Chris 😍.... trying to slow the blind buying , sometimes though there's a sale /deal that we can't pass up and take the risk 😂 there a few that maybe just weren't a love and might end up collecting dust and intending to hopefully sell on .... blind purchased Girl of now Shine , the watermelon scent from Batik ?, a couple from sniff that aren't going to work and some travel sprays from City Rhythm that are nice just felt a bit masculine for my taste
My big blind buy fail of the year was Chabaud's Tiramisu for my daughter the gourmand lover...started out like a biscuit (ah how the hope flared....) and then settled into synthetic-ness, no discernible coffee notes, not much creamy joy etc etc... very disappointing. My daughter is letting it marinate now in hopes that it will improve...sigh...However, the Paris Corner Qissa Delicious she blind bought was a HUGE SUCCESS! What a delight..if you're a creamy dreamy gourmand lover. I'm not a gourmand girly and even I like it.
Happy New Year Chris! I only had a couple of blind buys last year, and fortunately, they were all good. Is it the thrill of the unknown that draws us to this dangerous practice? I have one on the way, but only a 10ml of Masque Milano L’Attesa, so no biggy if it’s a dud😃🇦🇺
Yes I agree! I used to LOVEEE blind buying! Esp when my collection was much smaller. Most of them worked out. Now it’s VERY hit/miss. ESP with ME scents: ❤️ In Australia do you have a website where you can sell perfumes? We have one here (Mercari), otherwise I would be in big trouble! Other ppl sell on Facebook groups.
Thanks Chris for sharing your worst blind buys of 2024. When I first saw the thumbnail I thought for sure Amouage Guidance would be on the list but then I remembered you had a sample and not a full bottle. 😅
Another great video! I typically have to blind buy a lot but I have been pretty lucky so far, except for some arab fragrances that I obsessed with and decluttered because they were not what I wanted. I too am curating and consolidating my perfumes. I find I don't need 10 variations of the same DNA, there are not enough days of the year to wear them all sufficiently either. Phlur, they have some great scents but the lasting power and price are a no for me. I just blind bought Cedrus and contemplating Planifolia thanks to your rec's. Have you tried Houbigant's new Ambre Rubris? It is one of the most well blended fragrance I have smelt, very sexy but not overpowering. Happy New Year!
Oh my gosh eagle eye in the house!!!!😂😂Pat gets those! My favs are Fresca and diet Squirt but I forgot how yummy Vernors is! And I’m always so thirsty when I film because I talk so much! 😂🤦♀️❤️
TFS! I had a goal not to blind buy any full bottles in 2024, and believe it or not I was successful so nothing to report this year! I did however buy a lot of samples, so this year my goal is to get through as many of those as I can. 💕
I’m usually reluctant about sharing my absolute misses because they are very often crowd pleasers… Still, we all enjoy different things. Worst things I blind bought last year (and the year before, to be fair) are BDK Gris Charnel and a travel spray of the extrait, Piano santal from L’orchestre parfum and Vanilla Sex from Tom Ford. On my skin I could only smell vinegar, funk, dill and cucumber plus some sort of artificial sweetener… and mind you, I’m no scent snob whatsoever; I love a good candy smelling bodylotion or anything, but these modern sandalwood and vanillas… it’s not working for me at all…😅😅
Hey Chris! Happy New Year!!! We have no overlap in our list. Mine was G&B Southern Bloom and White Sandalwood. Chabaud Le Concentre and Le Chocolate, and Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Iconifique. Southern Bloom is a ‘mature’ lady floral bouquet of florals and BO. The Chabaud frags were so rich and buttery that even in cold weather they completely choke me up. The Le Concentre smells like you took the marshmallows and sticks of butter, melted them, and assuming they were cool enough slathered it all over your skin. You’d think this smells delicious but for me, absolute scrubbers!!!
😂😂Hi there! I have two Chabaut perfumes! I agree very rich and buttery. I haven’t worn them in a long time maybe for that reason but I do think they are yummy. 😂❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was very sad when camomile satin didn’t work out for me. I was sure I was going to love it! Paid full price right as it came out. And it makes me nauseous 🤢 maybe the galbanum? Luckily I will exchange it with a perfume friend for something I do really like 😊. I know what you mean about Quattro Pizzi! That was also my very first thought! But when I wore it in (really) warm weather I did get a lot more of the coconut and I think I might now prefer that one. Not quite sure yet 😂
Chris, have you smelled Bois Pacifique from Tom Ford yet? It’s supposed to be a masculine fragrance, but I sampled it at Nordstrom and I was intrigued! It has a fizzy, soda pop top note. Would love your opinion.
I’ve had the same experience with Phlur fragrances. I really liked the scent of Missing Person but man oh man you are spot on about their performance being that of a body spray. So not worth it. My two failed blind buys this year were Guidance 46 and Rouge Smoking. I couldn’t get with either one of the Guidance fragrances and Rouge Smoking turned into straight up Barq’s root beer on my skin. I’m going to try to sample more this year instead of blind buy 😊
@@ThePerfumeNest Haha! Yes it did go missing! 🤣🤣 I got the original not the extrait. I heard someone say the extrait leaned more masculine so I went with the original.
I've noticed that even though I thought it disappeared I would get compliments, so it's definitely there and it lingers, but I stop smelling it too, but I loved it so much I bought another bottle after decluttering the first.
Frags that lead with Teas, Patchouli, Moss, Vetiver, Incense, Leather, Peppers, Tobacco, Eucalyptus, Smoke are just some of the notes I never blind buy. Not that I wouldn’t like them, just can’t trust enough to blind buy, especially at certain price points.
Hi Chris, Happy New Year 🥳! I blind bought three of BTSO: Drunk Saffron, Nanatopia, and Happy Nuts. I came to the conclusion i hate this house lol. Of course, not hate, but I won't be buying anything from them again. Didn't care for 1970 either, but Almaz! I l LOVE it! Just bought a bottle together with Dahab. But hey, if it doesn\t work for you, it doesn't work.
Oh my gosh really!? You bought all three blindly! 😂 Nanatopia was a big no no. Smelled like banana bread left in a locker room covered in gym socks! ❤️❤️
@@ThePerfumeNest Not all at once. But I got a really good deal on them. Everybody was raving about them, so I thought it would be safe. They all smelled exactly like you would think, for about five minutes, and then it turned into something disgusting. Luckily, I sold all of them and didn't even loose money.
Hi Chris! I didn't like Almaz & 1970 either :( very disappointed b/c really thought I'd like them! I didn't get cumin in 1970 but just underwhelmed by it, not what I expected...Loving the hair!! 😍😍😍
I think 2024 was my first year with no bad blind buys. I'm testing a LOT more now and buying fewer fragrances overall. I still have way too many and need to shrink my collection greatly. 😳
I had a big, unpleasant experience with Guidance. It sounded wonderful, with notes that I typically enjoy. I love several Amouage fragrances, so I almost blind bought it. I'm so glad I came to my senses and purchased a sample. Yuck! An immediate scrubber for me! 😂
Ah you are lucky they allow returns. (Since all fragrance and cosmetic / body care returns go directly into the trash…ie landfill). I have a sample, I think it’s a very nice perfume, esp what they were going for. But I’m torn about a bottle. I just don’t think I’d ever use it since I have other modern chypre and fruit-chouli scents I enjoy and need to wear more. 🥰 I like the bottle design as well. 😂
Hi Chris, for a wonderful straight forward but we'll done incense, try Sancti, from the same house (liquides imaginaires) it's fabulous, no curve balls to deal with, just lovely churchiness. Love your videos - first comment from me, but I always watch with great appreciation. Happy New Year to you..
Yes! I have Sancti and LOVE it. I wore it to Christmas mass 2023! It was a warmish Christmas Eve and that one I think works well in the warmer months. Don’t you? 🥰 oh gosh thank you so much for taking the time and commenting! 🙏🏻❤️I really appreciate it and love chatting with everyone here. 🤗
@ yes!! Maybe I should do a video on my favorite incense perfumes? I thought it was too late in the year but we’re buckling down for a Winter Storm that is hitting tomorrow so would you be interested in seeing that?
Thanks for another great video 🫶 I admit I'm a blind buy junkie, but I do pretty good with my buys. I've had a few fails: Santal Majuscule, Liis Bo, Piano Santal, and Santal Basmati. Those are bound to ruffle some feathers 😂
A church that had to be evacuated ☠️🤣 too funny! And I love the title- "when am I going to learn?" 😂😂 I get it, I just purchased a perfume that I had smelled in store but had not done a full wear test and now I'm second guessing it big time 🤦🏻♀️🥴 oh well, it's all a learning process! 😅
Hi Chris! Some of my instant no fragrances: Deep in Desire Yacht by EBK, Yum Pistachio Gelatio by Kayali, and for some reason I just don't like the DNA of ExNihilo fragrances. Xerjoff has never been a safe blind buy for me, as his fragrances can turn quite strong on my skin. Mate is a challenging note that is not found often. I do have Inle by Memo that has a very light touch of mate which make the fragrance more airy and less sweet.
Honestly, it’s just fragrant water😂😂. I nearly blind bought 1970 last week on sale but decided to get RM no4 which I had sampled for hubby🤩🤩. I’m currently testing Quattro Pizzi and I will see how it goes since I don’t have Rouge Malachite🤔🤔. My worst blind buys were mostly ME fragrances so I will be buying way less of everything this year as I’m planning to travel😉😉. Did I even say Happy New Year🥳🎉🎊🫶🏽. Stay gorgeous🥰🥰
Yes I had major doozies for ME but I basically for the most hard stopped buying Middle Eastern fragrances with the exception of just a few this year because like you, they were almost always fails.
Strawberry Letter, YSL Fans & Flames, Candied Lychee by 7 Virtues, Bianco Latte were all a big NO for me this year. And there were a few other that were given away or returned as well. This year had way more misses than hits. But I still enjoyed all of the other in-store and blind buys of 2024
I was also disappointed with Strawberry Letter. I was hoping for a sweet, juicy strawberry. On me, it dried down to sour milk 😕. I gave it to my stepdaughter and luckily she loved it.
One of my home-remedies for grumpy mood is watching The Perfume Nest 🤪 maybe it was for the best that they burned down that moldy church! Lol I've made a handful of blind purchase and I just need to stop because I'm too sensitive and picky. Ruffled-feather alert: I ordered Lattafa Khamrah Qahwa and unfortunately I cannot smell anything that apparently everyone else can...too me it's a sharp, overbearing chemical smell and nothing else. I have a hunch that there's an (inexpensive) molecular note in many hyped fragrances that overpowers my olfactory receptors and thus I cannot smell anything else. Sad. I'd love to ask the all-knowing perfume oracle what note it is, so I can stay clear! Other blind buys: Chopard Casmir (new formulation smells like plastic peach. sad.) LVEB Intensement: a like, but not love.
Hi, Chris. A couple of my worst buys smelled truly disgusting. One was a LaRive fragrance, quite cheap and I don't recall the name of it, but it smelled just like the monkey house at the zoo. Another LaRive, River of Love, has a whopping 28 notes and I could not tell what the heck I was even smelling. They do have some very nice fragrances for the price, but those were not them. The second really bad one was one everyone seemed to love in the Cuba line called Jungle Snake-I own several from that very inexpensive line and they're nice, but this one was gross. It smelled great off the atomizer, but on my skin? It smelled like feces, ugh. Proved to me that skin chemistry really does have the final say! Another I remember that wasn't disgusting, but just not my taste at all was passed on to my younger son, Franck Olivier Oud Vanille. It was very inexpensive, nice bottle, but the incense in it smelled like a house fire and I had one of those in 2013. Even on dry down, just smoke. I got no oud and no vanilla. My son tried it and said, "Very smoky!". Those were my worst blind buys of all time. Thankfully, not a huge monetary loss. ~Cynthia
The only one on the list I smelled was Quattro Pizzi. I love the Casamorati fragrances overall, but this one was meh. I didn't hate it, but not worth the price. Hopefully you already sold all these, or no one will buy them after seeing the review! 🤣🤣 Happy New Year!
I just have to say I am so excited to get Vanilla Eclat.. ordered on day one and still waiting, and getting more antsy by the day! Trying to learn patience! 😅🤓 But I'm sure it will be my favourite blind buy ever! 🥰
Aw you are tooo sweet. It’s not very sweet (which I know you don’t like true gourmands) it’s very creamy and warm and woody so there is a good chance you will enjoy! 🙏🏻😬❤️❤️
@ Yes I think so Paula.. I got a ship notification a few weeks after ordering (happened to be the day after the postal strike ended), but then 2 wks later they said my free gift was out of stock and to choose a different one, even though they had already said it had shipped two weeks earlier 🥴 Lol.. oh well, someday! Glad to know I'm not alone! 🙏🏼
At 2:30 Since you love whipped cream, what is your thought on Jousset Vanilla ala Berries? It's supposed to be a Strawberry/Cheesecake/Whipped Cream scent? I love the smell of Berries and Cream(not Vanilla).. but not really Cheesecake. Any opinion that might help me? Thanks ❤
There is nothing worse than the bb let down😢, and I am the self appointed QUEEN OF BB FAILS. I try many samples, but fbs, even less expensive buys start to add up when they aren't staying. I have donated so much to Goodwill. I just moved, so that's ended. My new home, City has a beautiful GW, so I still have a place, but 2025 is going to be much, much different, for me, for all of us, I believe. BELATED HAPPY NEW YEAR CHRIS🎉 Frsncine
@ hi there!!! I used to be the Queen! 😂In fairness, as I got a bigger collection tip. They were fails in the sense that they were redundant and too similar to something I already had. The stinkers were very few and far between.
Today for my ‘self care’ day - prior to Saturday chores such as Costco 😅, my scent of the day is an oldie but goodie & one of favorite comfort scents - Mont Blanc Signature ❤❤ Even better, one of my sons gifted me a fresh bottle for Christmas 😊
Do you let your fragrance "settle" for a full 7 days, after they arrive from being shipped, before testing them? They can often get "shocked" during shipping which can cause them to smell vastly different than they were created. I wait 10 full days. 💥🙂
@ThePerfumeNest Good. I can't tell you how many people are basing their opinions on a fragrance that hasn't "settled" for 7-10 days before testing.. and then wondering "what went wrong" or "it's not any good". I'm sure stores lose millions based on this effect, as people return them.. but some stores won't allow returns if it's opened.
Something about Quattro didn’t sit well with me although in theory has everything I like. Maybe the mish mash or coconut Tuberose davana and tobacco is a bit too much cause those are all type A notes
2024 was a good year, I did one blind buy and it was heavenly(O, Feminine by M.Micallef). I curated some really good gems. I have been listening to Cheraye and Sharida and getting decants and samples. I blind bought Escapade Gourmand in 2022 and I had to let her sit for 6-9 months before she was palatable for me. Originally I was getting Maple Syrup now she’s a Christmas Sugar cookie, So I’m not too keen on the blinds buys.
My worst blind buy was Paramour by Oman Luxury. It’s a very rich fragrances and beautiful crafted and well blended fragrance. However, it was very masculine on me likely secondary to the the leather note
I blind bought Encore Une Fois by Infiniment Coty Paris because I couldn't get a sample, but it was a good blind buy...Mancera Roses Vanille was a bad blind buy...I don't like rose apparently...lol
Same with me for 1970, I was expecting magic from what I had heard about it, but I trashed this one in a sample sniff video! 🙈 I didn't like it at all 🤭😅
Good heavens, I'm glad I didn't buy the moldy burnt down church one lol! Honestly, and at the risk of being burned at the stake, my worse blind buy of the year was Kayali Silk Santal. Doesnt smell bad but the most underwhelmed I have ever been by a fragrance. I have never seen hype like that one. Sold it immediately.
Yes I think it smells very similar to Mod Vanilla !! I like both🤣 and Mod is the one perfume I recommend to my daughter’s friends who are looking for a vanilla but don’t want to spend a lot of money.
Girl sometimes those mildewed, dusty churches just gotta go; RIP Lacrima 😂 And hey, as a fellow hater of cumin in fragrances..I felt that on a deep level. Nothing like spending over $200 to smell like a hobo hopping trains.
How boring life would be if we all smelled the same and liked the same fragrances!!! With thousands of perfumes out there, there's plenty for all to enjoy!!!
santal suprême by le monde gourmand is like santal 33 but softer: I don’t wear it, I used it for gifts jungle santal by finery similar to santal 33 (I used about 50% of each sandalwood + impression of eyes closed by oil perfumery to make 10mL gifts) they were both about 15$, one was on sale before the rainbow by finery is in the same style as wood sage and sea salt - great for the gym miimmiic 21 - similar to father figure, was 15-17$ i like it but doesn’t have the best lasting power. Better on clothes miimiic 91 similar to missing person (smells like a clean grandma who smokes) I tried to like it but I just don’t (will declutter) Violet sandalwood by sand + fog: same style as Mojave ghost, I really like that one! Great longevity too and so versatile, about 15$ pistachio dream oil by sand + fog bought on marketplace for 25$ similar to yum pistachio, I love it i really get bergamot, freshness, clean, and sweet I get way better performance than I did with the Kayali which I had declutterred Vanilla musk by sand + fog apparently similar to the Madagascar vanilla oil by nest, it’s nice Jasmin cedar wood by sand + fog supposed to be similar to BR540 but it smelled so strongly of latex (will declutter) born dreamer by d amelio it’s okay, smells like pear, I like the dry down, in the same vein as cloud maybe? Will probably declutter Mojo no 10 is similar to oud wood apparently, it’s way too strong for me but I use it in hand soaps. I might declutter it chocolate hazelnut monde gourmand is similar to by the fireplace but softer and maybe sweeter? It has a Smokey aspect! It’s nice, will have to try it more but the longevity wasn’t great
Bad oil perfumery blind buys this year: santalum, nuit blanche, angélique noire, matcha méditation, italica. I don’t know how similar they are to the originals but I did not like them at all
Hey guys! As I always say, just because these didn’t work out for me doesn’t mean they are bad perfumes! Hopefully I kept the tone light and inoffensive and we can still be friends! 🤣 Let us know below what were fails for you! 😄
Sunset cabana was a shocker and a scrubber. I do regret not giving it time to sit before I let it go.
You had me rolling with the church that had to be evacuated due to mold and mildew and then subsequently burned down 😂
🤣Lawd. Yikes I wanted to love it.
🤣🤣
Don’t you just hate when that happens 😂😂😂😂😂
I totally agree with you on Phlur. I don't like neither of their sprays or perfumes and i think they are overhyped and overpriced.
I 💯 agree! They don’t last at all.
Yes it is not a house for me. Happy to save my money and put it towards something else.
Same. I tried a few and did not understand the hype
Blind buys are so slippery ! Especially with such a sophisticated and experienced nose ! Looking forward to seeing the list of succesful ones !
You are too sweet! Tomorrow!!! 😄
Hi Chris!💛
The church evacuation story was hilarious. 😂
My biggest disappointment was D&G The One. I thought I would love it, but I have to layer with vanilla to really enjoy it. I still have it, but I don’t prefer fragrances that must be layered.
I sold quite a few fragrances in 2024. With the exception of The One, I can choose anything I own and love it.
Here’s to smelling great in 2025!🥂🥂🥂
Wishing you a happy and healthy new year. 💛
Everyone made it out safely! 😂⛪️ Happy New Year sweetie!
Would love to eventually see your collection. Love your videos. Happy New Year 😊❤
Ok thank you for the request. ❤️
You are my absolute favourite fragrance content creator and I know many of them! Love everything about your channel: eloquent and well spoken gorgeous lady who has such an exquisite taste in fragrances. Happy new year! Looking forward to watching your content in 2025 🎉
Oh my gosh! 😮This comment made my week! 🙏🏻🥹🥹Thank you so much for taking the time to say something so kind . ❤️🤗Seriously, thank you so much!!
🤣🤣 “when am i going to learn” is so real. i risk blind buying a bunch too. thanks for sharing Chris!
I don’t think I’ll ever stop completely (at least as long as I have an active channel ) but compared to 2020-2022……Enormously improved! 😄❤️❤️
Hey there!! Thx for stopping by!!❤️❤️
Great video Chris..
Thank you my scent twin!!! If you don’t mind me asking…are you in the States?
I live in Richmond, VA
At first I felt the same, but I layer it with some coconut fragrances and it really enhances them but I’m glad I only got a little 1 ounce.
Anything with Oud in the title gives me pause! 😂But I just bought a sample of Creed Royal Oud and oh my gosh! Spellbound!
Appreciate you sharing this SO much. Thank you for a great video!
Thx for stopping by!!❤️
Happy new year, beautiful lady!!!! I only buy decant/samples!!! I learned the hard way after I bought TK Coffee Addict and TR Kirke! Coffee Addict smelled like old coffee that had been spilled on me and Kirke is just so screechy! I love watching your videos!
Hey there! I couldn’t do Kirke either. 😬
I blind bought Quattro Pizzi and immediately knew it wasn't for me. I'm letting it sit for a good while and try again. Thankfully I didn't have any other fails!! Happy New Year, Chris!🎉
That is awesome!!!!!🙌❤️❤️
Good morning Chris! I managed to purchase one blind buy last year and it’s arriving today - Stash! I’m not worried if I don’t like it since I paid less than $40.
Oh wow how lucky you could still find it! Fantastic sandalwood scent! 🙌
Yes!!! If you don’t enjoy a really dark barbershop fragrance you can skip Recharge Black Pepper, EDP the EDP. Milk Musk is also gorgeous.
Yoooo, I’m the person who bought your Papyrus! It was a blind buy too, and I actually really love it. I think that it’s the first fragrance of this type I own, and I’m very happy with it.
Oh I am sooooo happy it found a loving home. Maybe I should have given it more time??🤦♀️😬❤️
@ThePerfumeNest I definitely see how that scent can go waaaay too green and almost astringent.
but i actually like them as a house overall! i really enjoyed Somebody wood and Phloria (got on sale).
Hi there! Thx for stopping by!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰
I had some blind decant fails, but I did pretty well with fragrances in 2014. Or rather, I found a lot of loves in 2024. 😊 I still use the fails sometimes but none have become loves, and that’s okay.
Good attitude I agree. 👍🏻
Incense is a hit or miss for me! Sometimes it’s beautiful and sometimes it smells like a smoking chimney 😂
I do that also! I’ve had perfumes I just can’t get on with but I can’t stop trying. 😂
Great video! I second that I am so curious to see your collection and how you store your fragrances! Love your videos! 🫶🏾
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I loooove it when you put this kind of content out! Thank you❤
Why thank you!!!❤️
Hi Chris!! Happy New Years! I had a couple of expensive fails this year as well. I think I am happy with my current collection and will make it is point to sample first before purchasing any perfumes this year. Hopefully I can stick to it. I just blind bought guidance 46 even though I hated guidance.🤞 (last one)
I was so surprised I really enjoyed Guidance 46. Not enough to spend 400$. 😂 I bought a 9 ml decant.
I agree! Most if not all of mine were associated with a sale/good deal. 😊❤️
Hi had the same experience with Almaz and it went up on my Mercari! I thought I was the only one.
I’m glad it wasn’t just me!!🙏🏻😉❤️
My big blind buy fail of the year was Chabaud's Tiramisu for my daughter the gourmand lover...started out like a biscuit (ah how the hope flared....) and then settled into synthetic-ness, no discernible coffee notes, not much creamy joy etc etc... very disappointing.
Thx for sharing!!! 🙏🏻🥰
Oh my gosh I will never blind buy an Amouage. Learned the hard way after sampling a few absolute stinkers. 😂
Quattro Pizzi reminded me a lot of rouge malachite too. I liked it but it wasn’t a love.
Same!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Oh my gosh Chris I almost blind bought cashmere quatro pizzi 😮 Will sample first !
Happy New year ! Evacuate the church ⛪️ 🤣🤣
It’s nice but I didn’t need something I already had. 😄Everyone got out safely! 😂⛪️
Wow the curls🎉You look so beautiful Chris!
Aw thank you!!!!🙏🏻❤️❤️
Another great video!
Hi there! Ambre Rubris is at the top of my sample list!!!❤️❤️
Did I spot a diet Vernors? I'm obsessed and they are getting so tough to find where I live. Happy new year!
Oh my gosh eagle eye in the house!!!!😂😂Pat gets those! My favs are Fresca and diet Squirt but I forgot how yummy Vernors is! And I’m always so thirsty when I film because I talk so much! 😂🤦♀️❤️
@@ThePerfumeNest My dad (from the midwest) introduced us to Vernors! It's so good :)
TFS! I had a goal not to blind buy any full bottles in 2024, and believe it or not I was successful so nothing to report this year! I did however buy a lot of samples, so this year my goal is to get through as many of those as I can. 💕
How fantastic! I bought a TON of samples and did SO much better but 12 months is a long time! 🤣🤦♀️
I also have discovery sets I need to get through!
@@ThePerfumeNest lol it feels like forever as a perfume enthusiast 😂
Thanks Chris! Love these videos! Hope you have a great weekend. We're bracing for a winter storm tomorrow🤞
Yes!!! I was supposed to fly to Houston but we just cancelled our flight. I’m going to hunker down here . ❤️
Btw, I will BB Vanilla Eclat. I know I will love it!
Going against my no BB purchasing! Lol
You don’t need to! You can get samples and Navitus is about to come out with the discovery set of the new ones! ❤️
@@ThePerfumeNest Omg! Thanks for the info
On my skin I could only smell vinegar, funk, dill and cucumber plus some sort of artificial sweetener… and mind you, I’m no scent snob whatsoever; I love a good candy smelling bodylotion or anything, but these modern sandalwood and vanillas… it’s not working for me at all…😅😅
Those are very polarizing. Vanilla Sex didn’t work for me either. 😬
Thank you for the review! The only one that I tried was Quatro Pizzi, and I didn't care for it. I love Rouge Malachite though
Really? So you find them quite different though? ❤️
1970 did not work for me either, glad I’m not the only one 😅
Look at the comments. We are not alone. ❤️❤️😊
@@ThePerfumeNestLOL! All of our sniffers are different. 😂 Have a good one!
I can see Chamomile Satin being very polarizing!!
Chris, have you smelled Bois Pacifique from Tom Ford yet? It’s supposed to be a masculine fragrance, but I sampled it at Nordstrom and I was intrigued! It has a fizzy, soda pop top note. Would love your opinion.
Ok! It’s on my list to test!!!
Yes! I loved Missing Person also but poof! It went missing in 30 minutes! 😂. Did you get the original Rouge Smoking or the extrait?
@@ThePerfumeNest Haha! Yes it did go missing! 🤣🤣
I got the original not the extrait.
Yes those are not safe notes I agree completely! ❤️
I chuckled a bit with the BTSO reference bc I don’t get the hype with Sugar Addict. Luckily I just got a 10mL
Thank you! It’s so easy! I just wrap it around a 1 inch curling iron! 🙌❤️❤️
You did great on blind buys last year!!
Trying! 🤦♀️🤣
I think 2024 was my first year with no bad blind buys. I'm testing a LOT more now and buying fewer fragrances overall. I still have way too many and need to shrink my collection greatly. 😳
I bought a TON of samples and 5 ml decants. But 12 months is a long time! 😂
Hello Chris, happy weekend. Thank you for checking Xerjoff fragrance for me.
Hey there!! Stay warm!
I also hatted “Almaz “… 😢
I’m glad that I only had a decant 😅
Good choice.
Hi Chris!! Happy New Year! ❤✨ Here watching 🥰
Hey sweetie!! 🥰
yeah agree.... Rien smells to me like hospital bandage ... exactly like that but only for much more money and sold as a perfume :D
Oh my gosh!!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Dead! 💀💀💀💀💀🤣
Maybe only for hardcore folks who reminisce about health care tragedies!
I had a big, unpleasant experience with Guidance. It sounded wonderful, with notes that I typically enjoy. I love several Amouage fragrances, so I almost blind bought it. I'm so glad I came to my senses and purchased a sample. Yuck! An immediate scrubber for me! 😂
Yes oh gosh that opening is horrendous! The dry down is lovely. 😊
Hi Chris! I’m wearing my worst blind buy of 2024 today! Terrible 90’s hair spray on my skin… Barénia by Hermès is going back to the store!
Ah you know it well then @@ThePerfumeNest I agree, Sancti is light and gauzy and warmer weather really makes it shine! ❤
@ yes!! Maybe I should do a video on my favorite incense perfumes? I thought it was too late in the year but we’re buckling down for a Winter Storm that is hitting tomorrow so would you be interested in seeing that?
Absolutely yes please, we' d love to hear about your faves! Stay safe in the storm! ❄️
Thanks for another great video 🫶 I admit I'm a blind buy junkie, but I do pretty good with my buys. I've had a few fails: Santal Majuscule, Liis Bo, Piano Santal, and Santal Basmati. Those are bound to ruffle some feathers 😂
😂😂😂Thx for stopping by!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Poor church! 🤣I tried to love it but it was a no. 🤦♀️😬
I’ve had terrible luck with the Nina Ricci apple shaped bottles too.
So sad because they are precious! I’ve held myself back from buying several! 🤣
Hi there! Oh yes I have a decant of Inle and it’s beautiful! ❤️
But I still enjoyed all of the other in-store and blind buys of 2024
Hey there!!! Thx for stopping by. ❤️
I was also disappointed with Strawberry Letter. I was hoping for a sweet, juicy strawberry. On me, it dried down to sour milk 😕. I gave it to my stepdaughter and luckily she loved it.
Oh my gosh! Sour milk oh no!!😂
One of my home-remedies for grumpy mood is watching The Perfume Nest 🤪 maybe it was for the best that they burned down that moldy church! Lol
I've made a handful of blind purchase and I just need to stop because I'm too sensitive and picky.
😂😂😂Yes I know exactly what you are talking about. And many houses do not list all of their notes, I’m quite sure Lattafa is one of those houses.
~Cynthia
Monkey house!!!😂😂Jungle Snake! 🐍 😂😂😂😂
I surely had a little jungle theme going on, didn't I? LOL
The only one on the list I smelled was Quattro Pizzi. I love the Casamorati fragrances overall, but this one was meh. I didn't hate it, but not worth the price. Hopefully you already sold all these, or no one will buy them after seeing the review! 🤣🤣 Happy New Year!
Long sold! 😂
You should have got it by now.
I haven’t gotten mine yet either Tammy … maybe a Canada thing 🤷🏼♀️
Thanks ❤
Yes I had that! It smelled like Captain Crunchberries! I love that smell per se, but found I really didn’t want to SMELL LIKE it.
@ThePerfumeNest Thank you 💞 I want Berries and Cream.. not Vanilla, Cheesecake, or Captain Crunch Berries. 💥
BELATED HAPPY NEW YEAR CHRIS🎉

@ hi there!!! I used to be the Queen! 😂In fairness, as I got a bigger collection tip. They were fails in the sense that they were redundant and too similar to something I already had. The stinkers were very few and far between.
@@bice-w9t It's scary how corrupt our government leaders have been the last 4 years. Things were already bad enough.. I hope things change.

Worst 2024 blind buys: Girl of Now Shine and Les Bois Bois de Vanille. Both left me perplexed. Hoping time will improve them for me.
I tried to buy Bois de Vanille but it was always sold out. I guess I dodged a bullet?! 😂
@ I think it’s in stock now at Attar Mist. Anne Lauren loves it, so I was sure I would at least like it. Hoping time will help!
Happy new year🎉
Same to you!!
Do you let your fragrance "settle" for a full 7 days, after they arrive from being shipped, before testing them? They can often get "shocked" during shipping which can cause them to smell vastly different than they were created. I wait 10 full days. 💥🙂
I do. Sometimes more if it’s brand new or really hot or really cold when it was in transit.
My goal is to try to buy samples before blind buying this year. But… lets see how that goes 🤣🤣🤣
Yep. Me too girl, me too. 🤦♀️🤣❤️❤️
Something about Quattro didn’t sit well with me although in theory has everything I like. Maybe the mish mash or coconut Tuberose davana and tobacco is a bit too much cause those are all type A notes
Right? Well I didn’t need it anyway. 😉❤️
Love O Feminin! 🙌Christmas Sugar Cookie sounds great!
My worst blind buy was Paramour by Oman Luxury. It’s a very rich fragrances and beautiful crafted and well blended fragrance. However, it was very masculine on me likely secondary to the the leather note
Oh I’ve seen that line floating around….thx for the heads up!
Was soooo happy I sampled 1970 first because OMG it was so bad lol. Smelled like dirt to me.

I’m on the fence about that one. So odd but so creative!!!!
I blind bought Encore Une Fois by Infiniment Coty Paris because I couldn't get a sample, but it was a good blind buy...Mancera Roses Vanille was a bad blind buy...I don't like rose apparently...lol
I’ve been tempted on that Encore! But I was proud I held off. I know eventually I’ll be able to get a sample. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Same with me for 1970, I was expecting magic from what I had heard about it, but I trashed this one in a sample sniff video! 🙈 I didn't like it at all 🤭😅
Oh my gosh I am SO thrilled to hear you say that! I really thought something was wrong with my brain or nose! 😮
When I smelled it it instantly reminded me of Mod Vanilla
I’m sure the person you sold it to was very happy! 😄❤️🙌
Yes I think it smells very similar to Mod Vanilla !! I like both🤣 and Mod is the one perfume I recommend to my daughter’s friends who are looking for a vanilla but don’t want to spend a lot of money.
1970 is my favourite chocolate scent. I also hate cumin, that’s why I hate Bianco latte.
That is terrific!! Oh my gosh I didn’t realize BL had cumin??😮
Yes 1970 didn't work for me either.

jungle santal by finery similar to santal 33 (I used about 50% of each sandalwood + impression of eyes closed by oil perfumery to make 10mL gifts) they were both about 15$, one was on sale

miimmiic 21 - similar to father figure, was 15-17$ i like it but doesn’t have the best lasting power. Better on clothes
miimiic 91 similar to missing person (smells like a clean grandma who smokes) I tried to like it but I just don’t (will declutter)
Violet sandalwood by sand + fog: same style as Mojave ghost, I really like that one! Great longevity too and so versatile, about 15$
pistachio dream oil by sand + fog bought on marketplace for 25$ similar to yum pistachio, I love it i really get bergamot, freshness, clean, and sweet
I get way better performance than I did with the Kayali which I had declutterred
Vanilla musk by sand + fog apparently similar to the Madagascar vanilla oil by nest, it’s nice
Jasmin cedar wood by sand + fog supposed to be similar to BR540 but it smelled so strongly of latex (will declutter)
born dreamer by d amelio it’s okay, smells like pear, I like the dry down, in the same vein as cloud maybe? Will probably declutter
Mojo no 10 is similar to oud wood apparently, it’s way too strong for me but I use it in hand soaps. I might declutter it
chocolate hazelnut monde gourmand is similar to by the fireplace but softer and maybe sweeter? It has a Smokey aspect! It’s nice, will have to try it more but the longevity wasn’t great
Bad oil perfumery blind buys this year: santalum, nuit blanche, angélique noire, matcha méditation, italica. I don’t know how similar they are to the originals but I did not like them at all
Wow! Thank you so much for this amazing overview! I’m sure many ppl will find it quite helpful!!!!
