Nailed it. Kids these days have no idea what real online game play was. I would get off the bus and go running back to my room to play BF9142, Desert combat mod, or BF2. The pace was much better, team work, and much bigger maps. The games today since BF3 is nothing but how many kills and how fast you can get them. No real fun in game play.
@@103realtree2 you're spot on about the team play, or lack of. I can't remember the last time I had a good experience. Voice comms in games like Csgo are just dire. Everyone is rude asf! It's definitely set up to cater for the instant gratification crowd...get that dopamine fix and get them hooked, and if they lose, throw the toys out the pram! Sure there's a science behind it! I do miss the old days. 😪 wireplay, blueyonder etc, if you're UK based.
I honestly think it was already lost in Bad Company. Bad Company changed the style of the gameplay to a quicker one. It still obviously wasn't like BF3 and later, but it was definitely much quicker already.

Eventually I decided to upgrade new pc and got my first nvidia card in 2007 I got the 8800gtx on windows xp but when I had 8800 GTX I had a bad texture glitch on bf1942 you can see a video of it still on my channel is very old anyway later on I got a HD 6850 it was perfect on Windows XP with a few minor glitches on the game. in 2013 I finally upgraded to a newer system so I got HD 7970 and I was very disappointed the same textual flickering on water and some parts of the map Returned on Windows 7 on bf1942 now 1 year ago my HD 7970 finally died so I got a RX 580 I still have the same texture glitch but I got used to it lol. so it doesn't matter if I now have NVIDIA or AMD they will both have the same problem however it started to look like amd just got a little worst for Legacy game support because if you look on team simple forum (I don't know if you know that forum) there are multiple people having issues with rx 5700 on bf1942 they no longer have a crosshair on the weapons. so I am now trying to find out which company has the best Legacy support still left the only games I'm interested in are all very old but in order to stream them on twitch and recording at the same time in 4k still require some big graphical power lol.

Never played 1942 but this map looks so good for all eras of bf portal, I'm gonna play so much of this map as well as Valparaiso.
