If they're filtering the smell of decay, they're activated carbon filters and unlikely to be cleanable. Might be possible to craft replacements, though.

I just hit a frustrating bug, all the propane tanks I had sitting on the ground just randomly emptied themselves. If I find another one I'm going to try to store it in a crate.
At that point, you might as well use a cheat and just manually spawn them and place them in the crate. After all, it’s not your fault you lost what you gained to a bug so it’s under stable to use a cheat here
I was able to sleep on one of the fancy cushioned chairs but not that straight wood chairs. Dunno if it’s a bug or intended like it would be to uncomfortable to sleep on a regular wooden chair

In regards to the sink, in B41 you had to make your own container/crate first and then install a sink onto it. You cannot plumb in already existing sinks, you have to install your own onto a container you've built (example a wooden crate). I believe it is the same in B42.
I haven't fully tested it yet but you may want to use the stats bar mod to track Protein. I think they changed the way food is used by your character, and I think you need protein a lot more. I've noticed I can never ever get double up on weight gain. no matter how much I've eaten. I've had full 3600 calories and Protein was at over 100 and still no double up weight gain. I've heard that the metabolism traits can really mess with it and has massive effects on how much you need to eat either way.
You could try a molotov or campfire burn. I haven't tried it in b42, but in b41, a horde burn was a great way to clear a load of zeds if you weren't skilled in firearms. It might take a while, and you'd have to be careful not to burn the building down.
if the weapon situation gets any worse you can use blunt rocks from the floor as a short blunt weapon for a temporary fix, haven't done too much testing with the rocks so I don't know if its riskier or not
Any chance did you download one of the mods to remove the debug reporting, it never worked but you just left it installed? If so this could be the issue with sinks you are having. When having one I found that random things like some sinks and sometimes options like sitting or resting was gone. Once I removed the debug remove mods I regained the ability to interact with the things I could not with it installed
They lowered muscle strain to reddit user levels. :D About time you gave butchering a go, plenty of chickens around. You also use the craft menu to further carve the main chicken body to wings and fillets. You need a rooster and hen of the same type to gain chicks from eggs.

If you really want some guns + camping stuff there is a gun and camping store near road that connects Rosewood and Riverside (3753x8492x1053).Before 42 and new towns it was at east side of map,you will have to kill like 30 zombies and there is a gas station in case you need fuel and now in 42 they added wild west town near that location that is cool place to visit and have many houses have antique oven if you need one for your base.

youre gaining too much weight and thats because you eat high calori food all at once! grab a can of potatoes and a can of carrots and corn and make a salad you can add a can of tomato too! it will take usually half a can of each when you make a salad! use a bowl ! it will give you hunger and you wont be hungry anymore! but lower calori so you can manage your weight both from going down too much or going up too much! through cooking my food i kept my weight at 80 for 6 in game months!!!! use the cooking feature to your advantage you can bake bread and make sandwiches ready to go for two or three days and even more if you use a fridge!!!!

In the old build you can't plumb the sink that is already there. The work around is to remove the sink and then put it back.
