Remember this is done for an informational video (maybe a TV interview) so it is not miked in a very sophisticated way, no attempt to balance the frequencies. If you heard it live it would be completely different with much more high and low range.

Hélène has a Wolf Sanctuary (The Wolf Conservation Centre in upstate New York, I believe). I always wonder where the microphone(s) are placed. Inside the piano? If it's a piano concerto, I expect additional microphones are placed strategically to include the orchestra?

The way she expresses herself is so instinctive that I had to review my translation several times to avoid biaising the meaning of her words. This said, she's definitely worth the effort :-)
I was dying for a translation from another video I saw of this---THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!! The other video even had the wrong title for the Schumann piece. Is there a full video of this session from ARTE TV? I could not find it anywhere.....

I should like to add my appreciation for your efforts to supply the English translation! It is always fascinating to listen to musicians when they talk about their art. But listening to Hélène, I am held spell-bound. To see her perform (on video) has the same effect, maybe even more powerfully so while she is working on a piece, with the deep concentration that she also shows when choosing the right words to precisely express her feelings.
