86 really surpassed everyone's expectations by surpassing it's source material which is nearly impossible for any show to do. Hats off to the director and the writer for giving us such a masterpiece.
As someone who is reading the books, themes fighting words! Jk. The studio has done an excellent job bringing 86 to life. I refuse to compare them as better or worse. As for the covers, I have now subscribed and liked them all.
@@The_Viscount I've read the Volumes that got adapted to Anime, and I think the Anime is better because of the sheer amount of subtle symbolization by the director, there's a few differences here and there, but none of them really diverted away from the source, there are some added details that are minimal but had its own charm. From the moment I've seen it, I was so blown away by the direction (and I'm a film student) only to find out that this was the director's first gig. That's just how beautiful it was.
This song actually made me tear up. I knew the end of the episode was coming but I was so concerned Lena and Shin weren't going to meet one another this season. But when this played and you could see Lena meeting the squad finally it really moved me. Amazing cover for an amazing song!!

Hiroyuki Sawano never disappoints, and neither does Mew. Amazing cover, and much appreciated! I absolutely loved this series, and I’m even more relieved to finally see the finale. It was a very gruesome 3 months for the final 2 episodes, but we trudged on regardless. And despite the long wait, they came back in full glory and did not disappoint! This will definitely go down as one of my favorite series ever produced, and I’m seriously hoping for another season!
I too cried during that last episode, even after reading the LN they blew my expectations out of the water. What an anime, what an amazing adaptation. Love, care, and attention to detail is all over the show. And as always, an *amazing* cover. I teared up it just brought back those feelings from those last moments of the finale. Bravo!!! This song hits harder, because this is basically the only song of this anime that's not depressing or talking about bad things that don't let them be free and happy (just like 3pun-29byou, Kyoukaisen and Avid), but in this ed everything is positive.

Judging from the Lyrics it's Lena to Shin. Because of Shins words to her...she lived and finally they were able to meet. She was able to grow and stand on her own because of him.(and everyone else in spearhead though mainly Shin) That's how I see it. Song is beautiful and this cover is amazing.

Lena the one exception among all of her people; choose to throw away with the unjust rules and prejudice on the 86's to support them and Shin. Her courage she shown even when they ridicule (both sides 86 and Republic) for her belief and even after the republic fall she survive and kept fighting on with courage unlike a shelter princess. Her spirit was the best gift they could means shes the best thing that happens to the 86's and Shin(on a personal level). So over all 1st verse is Lena, 2nd was Shin and it repeats in that order Lena to Shin and Shin to Lena in that order till they end. This was after hours of listening to it on repeat lol
