16:30 - I agree, I mostly think companion planting is a bunch hooey, there are just waaay too many variables in growing that we're not aware of.

The smell from the bay and rosemary inside your car must have been heavenly - a real gardener's "high".
Everything looks like it’s off to the races. Sadly mine have had such a hit with slugs and weeds! I’m so over weeds
Perlite makes a big difference. Holds water and losens up the soil, making roots grow way more easily. The faster the roots grow, the faster your plant grows.
You can train brambles along wires to help tidy them , and keep them manageable, then they produce a lot more verticle spur's witch in turn gives far more friut.

I just found your channel. I absolutely love that you incorporate so many flowers with the herbs, fruits and veggies being a bee keeper. :D Unfortunately living in Tennessee, USA I can't let the gardens get to a point that I can't see the ground well. I don't want to encounter a rattlesnake or any of the other native venomous snakes! Clean and trim keeps them pretty much at bay. I saw some Ginko trees at my sons doctors office. I fell in love with the looks but the "nuts" smell like dog poo! I had took some of these and had them in a opened baggie in the car door pocket. I forgot about them! My son got in the car one day and he's hunting to see if he stepped in some somewhere. lololol. I also looked online and it says toxic to animals. :( We have horses, a bull and a sheep and goat. We mow our lawn and feed them the clippings so it made me afraid to buy a tree. :( The internet seems to over blow toxicity but I want to make sure 1 tree isn't going to be a huge problem. Does anyone know anything about it?

Okay 'a proper garden in a home' ! WOW how exciting does that sound 😆 A wonderful goal 💞Yes I find nice containers way out of my small garden budget so make do with what I have and used grow bags last year which don't last forever, do not look pretty, but were pretty good 🌷🌷

If you have no where to keep your hose pipe try a car tyre, and place the the hose inside, or the centre of the car wheel fasten to a wall and wrap the hose around it..

Check your lemon tree for spider mites. The leaf in that close up shot looked like it might have them. My lemon tree gets mites occasionally.

Wow your Acers are stunning! Such cute little trees. The bay is a lovely shape now. I have a Bay in a large pot just outside my kitchen window so I open the window and cut off a few leavers. So handy on a wet evening 😄
Your garden is beautiful katriona your smile is very cute too. You could present gardeners world in the next few years. Is there gardening courses that could be gone online thanks.
At my last place I lived in I made a mistake in planting Rosemary in the ground!! LOL!! In my new place I've learnt my lesson and planted Rosemary in a pot!! LOL!! P.S...have you thought about making smudge sticks with all the excess Rosemary and Lavendar?? That's what I do with my leftovers!!
Hi Katerina, your garden is looking amazing! We are doing great this year and have been getting lot's of rain and our garden is doing great. Mike built grow tables for our pots in the vegetable garden and it works great. Our lettuce grow table is 4 ft tall and we can stand to harvest. How big is your allotment? We took a vacation last year in September to the Cotswold's and loved it. We are going again this year as well. Blessings to you. Rochelle

I use the old zinc tubs that masons used to use. I got hold of some before they got popular ( and expensive) I have got a couple of the big black plastic ones that got holes during the renovating of my home. they are all big enough that you can have bigger plants in them and dont need daily watering. and they can be humped around by two people. the few pretty terracotta ones will fit on my sitting area in the kitchen garden. I have seen some stones pots in reclaimation yards. they make me drool but a pair cost about the same as my house.

Always love to see a new video from you when I get home from work. I have big Dahlia blooms thanks to your channel. Have you tried fabric pots? I really like them because Fire ants do not get in them and I can control the watering better.

I still find it amazing that one person in the U.K. can have such a large allotment garden space. I've read over the years that a waiting list for a space can be decades long. A New York newspaper article about it that I read quoted a older fellow saying "he thought he had won the lottery getting a plot." In my case in Canada, ours has 15 raised beds 10ft x 4ft..one per person and 10 commom beds with raspberries, strawberries, blueberries etc. for all to share. Your space could shared by at least 4 people.
This is the traditional allotment plot size that is intended for a family to feed from. Waiting times may be that long in London but elsewhere you should get one within a few years. I was lucky, gardening interest was relatively low when I got mine within 6 months. We’re also lucky that on my site of 600+ plots more of them are available each year in comparison to a normal sized allotment site.

I don't own ANY nice pots. Just grow bags and recylced cheap pots. I have joint problems and theyre so much easier to deal with... plus if they crack i dont even care

Im growing blueberries in large pots. Just tested the soil using a soil meter and its reading very alkaline. Any advice on how to get the soil back to acidic. They were planted in eracatious compost
Pine needles top dress also feed it what it needs
