Yesterday I watched this video. Today I decide to give my shed a makeover. I am 72 years old and live in the Netherlands. My shed is a messy after 8 years. We already buy planks and supplies. Thanks for the ideas! 😊💐
That's an awesome boyfriend, who'll make an awesome hubby (wink wink). I've been blessed with a wonderful handyman hubby who's always fixing and building things for my garden. Blessing and stay safe.
A woman after my own heart using a ferro rod to spark up a fire for the Kelly Kettle, seriously. You always rate a 9.8 for skills and serendipity ( the cobbled cell-phone holder). Birds playing in the birdbath brings a certain ambiance to a garden spot.. Tremendous video, thumbs up for your support carpenter.
Hi Katrina, my greenhouse had a similar broken pane of glass. My wife suggested the glass from an old photo frame and it’s held in place with double sided clear sellotape. Being on the inside and resting on the window frame it’s both weather and wind proof. It’s also bloomin cheap. Great vids keep up the good work. Cheers.
You did a beautiful job! Such a tiny space, and yet now it's so much more practical, usable, and lovely! It has a character all its own. Thanks so much for sharing your make-over ideas.
Interesting to hear about a car boot sale and your correct we have yard sales and I some areas people have garage sales. We also have a style like what you went to called flea markets usually in a large parking lot or something and you pay a small fee for your booth and all the vendors sell their items which could be used or new. Bakery , clothing, jewelry, baked good etc.. it’s a fun way to get some good deals all in one spot. Your shed makeover looks great and will be so much more functional for you!
Greetings from Western Washington! Momma & I got the shed for her and Daddy's property, Dove's Nest, in 1996 and never finished the inside. We just went straight into using it. It's seen it's better day indeed! It was always our dream to make it functional and beautiful but... sadly it just never happened. I lost her last year and here I am looking at it yet undone still. I adore your little shed and am so glad you've finally made it your own. Enjoy all your hard work! Blessings to you from the great Pacific Northwest! 💛🖤💛
This is the first time I have come across your channel. You did a great job! I like the closing comments especially where you said that your glad you did this after having your shed a while bcs you didn't really know what and how you would have used the shed. The result id wonderful use of space for what you will us it for going forward. You are a doll. BTW I am a 67 yr old Granny who will be doing some new gardens with my daughter and her husband and two little blondes ages 5+6 this coming summer 2022. FYI We are in upstate New York far far from the city. We are in the mountains and it's a beautiful rural place to have a family.
Katrina this shed reno is fantastic!!! Extremely organized and very attractive too! This was a great upload and gave me lots of inspiration...thanks! Shoutout to the BF!
Thank you for showing the before and after. It helps to see everything that was in there, including the mess, so we can really appreciate the makeover. You gave me lots of good organizing ideas.
Car boot sale can be the equivalent to American's flea market I believe. Your wood shed is very nice and have lots of natural light. thank you for sharing!
You must be so proud of that shed now. What an awesome space you've created. Love the peg board. I've saved this video to help with future shed projects.
I love your new shed. I lined my work bench tops with oil cloth fabric. So it protects the wood, easy to clean and looks nice too. Mines grey with white spots and was a long cut off. Also when my glass greenhouse windows were smashed I replaced them with acrylic panes off amazon. You can’t even tell it’s not glass. Xxx
Just re-watched the video and one thing that sprang to mind with your Grandma's steps ... Fasten them to the outside of the shed and give them a lick of paint and you have some ready made strong ( theyre designed to carry people) shelves for pots of plants !! I'm just about to buy a new shed after 30 odd years and I want to make mine into a potting shed like yours (as well as a garden shed) that way I free up more room in the greenhouse 😎
What a beautiful transformation! It’s so lovely to look at now. One idea for your pegboard though: when you’re sure you have everything in it’s place, you could take a pencil and lightly trace around your small tools so if you come back in with several tools after gardening you don’t have to try to remember where each one goes. A pencil won’t show enough to ruin the prettiness of the display and can be erased if you decide to rearrange. ( or just take a picture on your phone and make it your screensaver, because it really does look lovely) Thanks for sharing this video, your videos are always so peaceful and relaxing. Xx
Lovely to enjoy you energy! Garden sheds! Now there is a topic of discussion! Me? Everything has its place, but that includes a place to stretch out and enjoy a mug of tea with the door open and the wonderful smells and wafts of wind that blow past. From my view, a garden shed is the ultimate place to be in the garden (if it has an open view of the garden and a kettle!)...
Great shed makeover. Pegboard is a wonderful way to organize. I’ve used it in many different places over the years. I recently saw a video where a man tried flour and baking soda to rid his sheds, animal coops and garden of rodents. He simply put it in plastic container covers and put it out for the mice to eat. For the rats that were eating his vegetables he put some in a cottage cheese container and cut a hole so they could get their heads in and it eat it and it wouldn’t get wet when he watered. It worked very well. In some of the comments people said they mixed a little water with it and made little balls. Also some said they mixed sugar or peanut butter with it to attract them. It is not toxic to humans, the environment or other wildlife….just rodents. May help you to rid your shed of those pesky little vermin. I’m going to try it this year in my shed. Going to try making it into balls….less messy. It was a 1 to 1 ratio. Something else I saw recently was using mentholatum on decorative pumpkins in the landscape so the squirrels don’t eat them. Perhaps that (or something with a strong mint odor) would keep your poppyseed pod orb from being eaten by the mice. It’s a lovely decoration. Or perhaps you could hang it from the ceiling with a sprig of dried mint. Would be a shame if the mice ate it. I’m sure you will find your shed makeover will save you a lot of time next growing season. You’ve turned it into a pleasant little space. Love the windows. Great spot to have a cup of tea and enjoy natures beauty.
That's a brilliant job, well done... and the best part... there will never be anything ever out of place ever again, forever! See those 70mm hooks, two of those should hold your mallet or just drill a hole in the handle and put a string through it. Grandma's tools... I'm still using my Grandma's garden tools and my Granda's workshop tools... and I'm 64! Best Wishes, Brendan.
Just go for it and varnish the whole thing, you can't go wrong. After it dries, do a light sand and go over again, and then when dry give a good rub down with a cloth, old tea towel. Old captains trick on boats . Love your dedication to your workplace. Nice one . X
Hello from Florida! Your grandmother’s fork has that tell-tale blue green residue that appears on old brass/bronze/copper items. Maybe get some brass polish and buff it up on a rainy day. It’ll shine like new money!
The 1st aid kit and mirror are both smart. Today, while in my shed, I thought I might add some tissues. It's still cold here, and they would prove useful.
I've watched this probably 3-4 times, because I've come back to it for different reasons, the first time for the bench (I've since built my bench), the second time for the shed (I"m getting town approval) and this time for the tools on the wall (designing layout above my bench). I know I watched it at least twice before as I was researching the size of sheds (mine will be 8 ft by 14 ft so I can store lawnmowers and other power tools, etc, but I like the number of windows to let in the light! Nice video!!! Thank you!! (live in middle of New England for reference)
In America we have the same thing as car boot sales, but we call them a flea markets or swap meets. Great work btw, that table will last longer than the shed will!
What I really loved were the videos in which you sat down in the shed with a teapot and talked about longer subjects. Then AND, of cause now, this shed is a special place for its beauty (the windows into the secret garden being a decisive feature;-) and it's history! ... And I love the colour! 🥰
Greetings from Pennsylvania, USA. I love your shed. I have a garden outbuilding built of concrete block. I was surprised this past summer to find someone living in it. My dogs had kept sniffing by the door of it for a couple months in early Spring, but I didn't pay attention to them. Then one day, they were sniffing by the door and wouldn't move, and I actually saw a person moving inside of it. As I walked closer toward my dogs, I saw the person back up into the corner of the shed as if to avoid detection. Very frightening. I called the police but by the time the police came, the person went out through a window. Later, in my barn, I found empty soda cans and food wrappers.
Love your do over!! Nice job. I plan to have a rustic mini kitchen for tea and sandwiches in my potting/craft shop that is off the garage. I have a 1920’s stove on tall legs, electric hot water pot and large water dispenser. I am looking for a toaster oven. Vintage lamps are on the benches. The interior has reclaimed exterior siding on the walls, a large old victorian rug on the floor and I installed vintage shelving I collected over the years. We even installed a nice old wood burner for those cold days that the previous owner left behind. So excited to get my hands dirty!! Happy gardening 🌸
I came for the dungarees, and stayed for the makeover. Both are amazing 😁 Uh, I miss boot sales. There used to be loads near me, something happened 20ish years ago that stopped them for a while and they just never came back locally or frequently 🙁
Wow , you need a small chimney that says outside for small wood sticks to get warm by. Plus your chair to have you tea. The building is great. U Tube Vivi has hers so homey .
Wow, a car boot sale is far better than how we do it! I have to drive all over town going from yard sale to yard sale and likely miss several cuz there isn't one place people post them if they even post them at all. I wish we could switch to car boot sales in a central location here lol Great job on your garden shed, looks awesome.
I know everything changes and continues changing. I liked the paperboard, the tea corner and the drawings visible ❤️...but i know that tools at easy places are better for your daywork.
Hi Katrina, I think it is a brilliant job that you both have done. I have an 8x6 shed which is crying out for a re-organisation and you have given me some great ideas. The peg board is a definite! Thank you.
Thanks for watching! Somebody else suggested that but string isn’t the only use for my scissors. I’m also right handed so I would rather (at the table) grab them with my right hand than twist my body to the left.
This reminds me of my first "garden shed" which was accualy a closet under the steps of our townhouse. I grew African Violets under florescent lights. Just enough room to step in and close the door behind myself, but I loved it! Spent hours and hours in that micro sanctuary. Congratulations on the make over, it looks fabulous! And you handle that feral rod like a Boss!!
Your she shed is fabulous! Kudos to your boyfriend for that work bench. I took the opportunity to clean my potting corner of my garage when I made some spring pots using your lasagna method of planting bulbs!
Well done.. I love your garden shed it give peace in your mind when it in order. It make the work easier and faster because you don’t have to look where your tools are and enjoy cup of tea..
The shed looks great and so much better work space, I know I hate to work in an un organized space. You have me thinking about a new garden shed thanks.
Wow its fantastic I love the transformation !! I'm definitely going to be putting up peg board in my teeny tiny shed. Such a good idea for keeping things organised and it would be great in my shed for keeping some of my sharper tools out of the way of my little boys too! You've given me lots of ideas!!
That’s a proper shed job! 😯 Looks absolutely smashing 👏 Totally get the ‘whole new shed' feeling after sorting out my garage, which was nigh on inaccessible. Felt like a place to go, a workshop, I was very pleased. Sadly it’s retreated into oblivion after it needed a new roof and is a right old tip once more. Fettling your shed to get it just so will be a fun little game for a while!
It looks amazing! I hope to get my shed that organized some day 😊 My dad uses a peg board for his diy tools, which was the first time I’ve seen it. For the hammer: you might be able to put two pegs in the board so the handle would fit between them and the head would rest on them.
I love how your shed interior looks! It is so amazing. I don’t have a shed but it gives me lots of idea for somewhere in the house or garage might work.!
The shed looks amazing! Well done. I am on a new plot this year and need to go shed shopping soon, I hope mine looks as organised as yours. One tip I have picked up is to use chicken wire to ‘carpet’ your shed floor. Apparently rodents don’t like to walk across it. Who knows, maybe it works.
I love it! It looks so well planned and organized. I'm certain it will work well for you, especially this winter when you can have the time to sit with a cuppa. In the US we have flea markets which are the same as your boot sales. I much prefer the name "boot sale". I kind of cringe at the word "flea".
Hi Katrina, Loved this shed makeover! My son and I share an allotment and we have just renovated the outside of our shed... woodstain and refelting. Hadn't planned on doing a makeover inside, but after watching this video i think we might have to give it a go! And I've just started buying the Wolfgarten tools too.
Thoroughly enjoyed your video. You have given me a few good ideas for my allotment shed. With regards to hanging your mallet, it's very easy. Just cut a piece of your string say about 12" long, then tie the two ends in a knot so that you then have a circle. Pull the circle at two ends fairly tightish making an oval shape. Put the handle of the mallet down through the middle of the string so that the mallet head cradles the string, Then all you do is over the top of the mallet head, feed one loop end through the other loop end and pull it tight. Just one thing I did notice was that you have an attachment tool hung up with the three prongs pointing outwards. This could be dangerous if you or others were to trip or stumble inside the shed. All the very best.
Good job you! What bright ideas! I like the baskets with the string coming out the bottom. I have wads of string and rope hither and yon. Yes, my shed needed a tidy. And I got it done! Even took pictures to prove it! Thank you for letting us see your wonderful work!
Love your shed. I wish I had windows in my shed. We also have car boot sales but we call them flea markets in the States. I love the Coffee scoop, wish I had one that big but I only have tea scoops.
You can use two of the longer pegs next to eachother and hang the mallet in them with the rubber end up and sideways. Hope that helps! Looks amazing! 🙂 🌹⚘️🥀
I have a stool! You can see it in the before footage. It forgot to come back in from the polytunnel 😅 I may swap the compost dustbin with the stool for winter. It fits nicely under the table!
I hold my Cup A Coffee up to you and your boyfriend GREAT job.Put weatherstripping around the frame of your door.Fix those windows.Try and get a little mat for your feet. You should get Ryobi tool to sponsor your channel.REALLY GREAT job.
Your garden shed makeover is inspiring. Entering full blown winter here in Maryland, US, it's a breath of fresh air and has my creativity flowing for a potential shed makeover here as well. Thank you! Beautiful job, Katrina! 🌻
Great job on this shed makeover! As for your rubber mallet problem, try drilling a sufficiently large hole in the handle end so that it will fit on to a narrow peg placed on your pegboard. This worked for me.
Absolutely love you! So many ideas and such commonplace workable ideas. I share your "wait time" on getting it done. I am working on mine as I'm getting inspiration from you. Thanks so much!
Great make over job on the garden shed 😎, Mine is an absolute mess 😱 and I feel I need to sort it out after watching your makeover, Yours looks so tidy now.
Hello Katrina, I live in France in La Rochelle, i have a plot in allotment gardens called Les Jardins Familiaux, I have little shed and I would reorganize it, your video inspiring me a lot, thanks and excuse my bad english. Kiss from France.
Here in the U.S., we have garage sales, yard sales, estate sales, and then what you call "car boot sales", appears similar to what we call "flea markets" (although, I'm not sure why they're called that!). Love your new shed! I would beg to differ with you about you being good at DIY - you did a fabulous job! :)
Never thought i'd spend 27 minutes of my life watching a video about a shed makeover, but here we are! Great job, it looks awesome!
Thanks for taking the extra moment my to drop me a comment. Really appreciate it 🥰
I love it 👍😍😍😍😍🤗🤗🤗🤗🌺🌼🌵🌷
😂hahahaha! Brilliant! Mee too! But im inspired thanku
My Dad had this exact toolbox. Everywhere he went his toolbox was near. Thank you for the memory.❤️🇨🇦
Yesterday I watched this video. Today I decide to give my shed a makeover. I am 72 years old and live in the Netherlands. My shed is a messy after 8 years. We already buy planks and supplies. Thanks for the ideas! 😊💐
Im about to build a potting shed for my wife and this is absolutely the inspo i needed! Looks great!
After a long day at work this was such a lovely comment to read, thank you!
It looks great well done you did a great job
Hi Katrina, my greenhouse had a similar broken pane of glass. My wife suggested the glass from an old photo frame and it’s held in place with double sided clear sellotape. I love watching your videos, you are so enthusiastic, great personality and obviously very keen on what you do,great to watch.
This the best! most practical make over. The foo-foo (fancy) ones are enjoyable to watch but I really appreciate your video.
Thank you 🥰

I done a makeover in my shed. Painted white inside. It know looks clean, tidy and plenty of light. All my tools are organised. Thanks to you 😊👍🏻

Thanks for watching! I’m sure you’ll get it all in order again soon 🙂
Fabulous make over! Yes replace the glass ASAP now the cold weather is upon us!
It looks amazing! I hope to get my shed that organized some day 😊
My dad uses a peg board for his diy tools, which was the first time I’ve seen it. For the hammer: you might be able to put two pegs in the board so the handle would fit between them and the head would rest on them.
The peg boards are so handy in a potting shed aren't they!!I l love the way you described his was made!
I love how your shed interior looks! It is so amazing. I don’t have a shed but it gives me lots of idea for somewhere in the house or garage might work.!
Thanks for watching!
What a neat transformation that’s what I need to do in my garden shed it’s a bigger mess then you had.
I love it! You did such a great job personalizing and organizing! It's so cute!!
Shed looks amazing! I love the print of the bat hanging!
Wow the shed looks amazing, great job. You have given me ideas about a new potting table. Love your kettle!!!
It looks great, nerdy organised and a brilliant work bench. I’m terrible for organising mine and then making it a mess again. I must try harder.
Me too! I just hope this new layout and system keeps me on the straight and narrow 😆
@@homegrowngarden nerdy I meant neatly lol though nerdy isn't an insult 😜
Love your shed. I wish I had windows in my shed. We also have car boot sales but we call them flea markets in the States. I love the Coffee scoop, wish I had one that big but I only have tea scoops.
One if the best looking sheds out there I believe....👍
Just watched your video and it has given me inspiration to sort out my shed, Thankyou for giving me some great ideas
It looks great organised and more spacious
You can use two of the longer pegs next to eachother and hang the mallet in them with the rubber end up and sideways. Hope that helps! Looks amazing! 🙂 🌹⚘️🥀
Perfect! If that was my shed I’d be in love with it too. Only thing I will be needing is a chair(bad back). Awesome job 👏🌼
I have shed-envy!! Looks so great. Loved watching this.
Wow! Just Wow! It looks great! ❤️❤️ What a difference and so much more functional now. Well worth the investment! Great job!
🫖🎉🎁🧄🎍🌱💕
Thank you!
Beautiful makeover💥 I moved into a new to me home in May. I was so excited to discover a peg board in the basement for my tools.
Wow, great work Katrina! This looks like a different shed. You should be so proud of yourself. Thank you for another interesting video.
I love what you have done to your shed. I'm feeling very inspired 🌷
You did an excellent job. I would love to spend time in a shed like that. Definitely pat yourself on the back and enjoy it!
Great job on this shed makeover! As for your rubber mallet problem, try drilling a sufficiently large hole in the handle end so that it will fit on to a narrow peg placed on your pegboard. This worked for me.
What a great makeover. You will enjoy it so much throughout the year!
Absolutely love you! So many ideas and such commonplace workable ideas. I share your "wait time" on getting it done. I am working on mine as I'm getting inspiration from you. Thanks so much!
Some great ideas! I volunteer at quite a few community gardens. Most have a tool shed of sorts, but they could all do with a makeover likes yours!!!
Great make over job on the garden shed 😎, Mine is an absolute mess 😱 and I feel I need to sort it out after watching your makeover, Yours looks so tidy now.
Thank you 😊
Hello Katrina, I live in France in La Rochelle, i have a plot in allotment gardens called Les Jardins Familiaux, I have little shed and I would reorganize it, your video inspiring me a lot, thanks and excuse my bad english. Kiss from France.
It looks so convenient, thank you for sharing the process! I'm inspired :D
Fantastic- looks brilliant. Would never have thought of the peg board - great idea 😀
