Don't really get why the 'suit" being shiny and slimy is an issue, the symbiote is essentially a black goo, makes sense it looks like that.

in my opinion, This Venom looks more intimidating than Spider-Man 3's Venom. The Klyntar/Symbiotes are the alien race from the comics. look them up.

Yeah, Tom Holland is listed in the cast list on IMDb, but it also says (rumored) by his name. Add to the that the fact that the information in IMDb is user generated much like Wikipedia, and not official from the studio. That's not concrete proof that he's in the movie. It's just a rumor.

Venom grows in size and throughout the comics and animation. You can tell this is as close as it gets
It looks like they are really putting some effort into an actual story, which is excellent, Venom's iconic enough to warrant it.
Its alright. Im a little skeptical. I've noticed they used the Infinity War music for the trailer. They don't have their own soundtrack yet? Sony has to redeem themselves with this. If not I'm done.The fact that Spidey isn't confirmed for this movie really doesn't sit well with me.
As far as the soundtrack, yeah that does seem very similar to the infinity war trailer. Also, as far as spiderman, I'm pretty sure it was confirmed that he's not going to be in it (since venom is like an EXTREMELY loose spinoff of the whole MCU in general)

If you've ever read the Venom: Lethal protector series...in the beginning of issue 1 Venom saves someone from being robbed after getting rid of the robber some kid spots venom and being that this event took place on Halloween night . The kid,thinking it's just a regular costume ,says " Cool costume! Shiny! " and venom reply with " yea? You should feel it when it's breathing"......so yes...the alien costume is ,if fact, shiny......

The way I see the whole shiny look of Venom is that its just the symbiote growing over him but doesn't change material. It's just a coating of the symbiote which 100% works for me :)

Symbiotes are depicted as slimey and liquid like many times. When sonic weapons are used in the comics the symbiote disperses in an ooze like manner. Also in the Zeb Wellis Clayton Crain run carnage comes in through a faucet and eats the little boy in the tub.
To those people hearing the soundtrack of Avengers: Infinity War here's the explanation.
The music they've used is just a "Temp Track or Temp music." Sound designers and composers used this technique always. A temp track is an existing piece of music or audio which is used in film production during the editing phase, to serve as a guideline for the tempo, mood or atmosphere the director is looking for in a scene. The track is usually replaced before release by an original soundtrack composed specifically for the film.

If you guys remember Spider-Man 3, the symbiote was already spider-like before it attached to Peter. The symbiote’s gooey nature in this movie also looks very similar to the one in Spider-Man 3 when it wasn’t in full suit form.
