Being born in the Kapoor family & her maternal family The Kendalls acting was bound to happen to Sanjana as she had stalwarts all around her.
She did enter into the film industry but I think that her English looks did not appeal to the masses & her career did not take off as she might have desired or thought off. She did a good job in Hero Hiralal, but hervwork in her other movies did not give a boost to her career. Due to english looks her brother Karan Kapoor too could not establish himself in the industry.
She must have been feeling very low during that time & finally she found her calling in theatre. She revived Prithvi Theatre & today the name itself is enough. She managed the theatre efficiently & brought it back into the limelight by bringing it back from red.
Today the theatre supports many plays & gives the makers & artists a platform to showcase their abilities & talent.
She married Aditya Bhattacharya & then Mr.Thapar.

Sanjana Kapoor may have inheritated her parents' s acting genes but her looks are similar to Hollywood actor rather than Bollywood. No wonder her career did not take off. The same with her two siblings Karan and Kunal Kapoor. It proves that Success is never guaranteed on the basis of pedigree or heirarchy. Kumar Gaurav the son of the famous Rajendra ( Jubilee ) Kumar is another example.
Absolutely true! Same goes for Shashi Kapoor's sons also- both have inherited their mother's genes.
A few weeks ago I read why Shashi Kapoor's children have not achieved success in Bollywood. The reason is that they have a British mother which would make them look more like British than Indians. How narrow-minded is Bollywood. I was a fan of both Sashi and Shammi Kapoor, but more of Shammi.

A very poor choice of title. Sanjana is and never was a 'failed actor'. She is a trained theatre actor and much acclaimed as it worldwide. Even the film Hero Hiralal was not an outright commercial one. I watched that film in the nineties and still remember her expressions which were emmaculate. Her mothers eye colour and hair colour inheritance was her reason of not making it big in bollywood. But she as an actor was much more authentic and well trained than her successful nieces.
Sashi Kapoor's son nd daughter both failed in their bollywood career just because their looks were like foreigners as their mother was a foreigner. I really feel bad for them. Both were more good-looking than kareena ,or Karishma or ranvir Kapoor.

@supriyamehra Actress to Katrina bhi NAHI lagti hai, na Alia na deepeka lagti Hain. Ek ki bhi actress wali shakal NAHI hai. Phir bhi films main chal gayi. Katrina ko bhi starting main acting NAHI aati thi. Sanjana was more beautiful than them and also talented. She is working for the theater as well. But indian audience do not like foreigners , they were biased against her and moreover she was not that much lucky like Kapoor sisters.

Yes, she flopped in bollywood due to her british appearance but she is a world renowned theater actor and producer. She learnt acting on stage from her mother and Sanjna Kapoor was awarded the French honour of Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres’ (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) for her outstanding contribution to theatre in 2020. Shashi kapoors family were from faisalabaad and were from a faisalabaadi Punjabi family then moved to Peshawar, later had to move to India as they’re houses were taken as the people thought that they had left permanently but it was only for a short time because of work in Bollywood. They couldn’t get their houses back so they had to unwillingly travel back and leave their homes in kissa khwani bazaar
