First of all: thanks for your great first review. I already have the Ipad mini 6 incl. the Apple Pen. So I still stick with my 6 Mini and wait till the next generation. Btw: which bible version do you use? I really like the CJB and NASB.
I’m not Jewish, but I heard a brother in Christ reading it and I was fascinated. And it’s such a joy to read a bible which it so close to the original language. Where do you preach? Is there a livestream available for the sermons?
I have used the mini 5 for a few years, it’s a bit dated now and the charging port is damaged. Probably the best 300$ I’ve ever spent. Very comfortable size and had enough power to do some gaming. I picked up a mini 6 which is enough for me at 300$. These are great little machines and worth every penny imo.
@ i kept it as a backup for when the niece and nephew come over. Thought about doin trade in but I’d rather have something they can use and abuse for when they bored.
@@jamesc8722 Thanks for your reply. Am now thinking it’s not the port as my iPhone 12 cord (lightning-Usbc) seems to work better. Guess these cords are really temperamental.
Never had a mini before so this is my first and I’m loving it. Using it only t watch videos on the go and read or play games. I don’t have ridiculous expectations like others do thinking the mini can compete with MacBooks and iPad pros. If you want those just get them, I know I did. The Mac and iPad Pro are for college and work. The mini is for the subway rides in between when I want to watch anime’s and stuff.
My new mini arrived yesterday. And it feels like an upgrade to me over the mini 6. It’s faster and the jelly scrolling effect is almost nonexistent and is only visible if I move the image on the screen up and down rapidly. So it’s a nonissue. There’s been no heat issues like I experienced on the mini 6 either.
Bought this I pad as an upgrade from my mini 4. I don’t understand the hatred for the tablet with some You tubers out there. Not everyone wants an M4 chip in a huge screen that will not fit in a pocket. Doctors and small plane pilots are two examples that spring to mind. This fits the gap between my iPhone 13 and my Mac. Plus, I get the chip for Apple Intelligence without having to pay more money to upgrade my phone.
iPad mini 7 I love it. It has 512 gig more space double the ram , it also more powerful I highly recommend it your a heavy mobile gamers it fits my needs. My only issue is that it should had at least a 90 hertz screen but I can deal with the 60 hertz. As a long time iPad mini 6th user I wouldn’t worry too much with A17 if you know the history of the A15 it was ahead of their mobile competitors for a long time. It took snap dragon 8 gen 2 to remotely catch up to iPad mini 6th so I am happy upgrading to iPad mini 7th.
Upgraded from the 2019 5th Gen. Still debating whether to get a Pencil. Might wait til Black Friday. Really complements my iPhone 13 Mini. Don’t have anything bigger - if I did, would probably spend most of its life in a drawer. I’ve got access to a MacBook if I ever need to do anything on a proper laptop. Thanks for the content.
Upgraded from my iPad Mini 4 64 gb memory to iPad Mini 7 Cellular 256 gb memory. I am still waiting for my new mini. My iPad Mini 4 has been dog slow lately for pretty much anything and everything. Just older processor that can’t keep up. It wasn’t that way back in it’s hay day which was 2017. Had this one a long time which I hope to repeat with the new 7. My other iPad is a 12.9 Pro from a few generations back but still going strong and when I do upgrade that I will be going to an Apple MacBook Air 15 inch. I am hoping my new iPad 7 is blazing fast like my iPad 4 used to be. Really tired of how laggy it is right now. I really enjoyed your review. I prefer your review to a lot of the overhyped reviews of late. Jelly scrolling was way overblown and likely not any issue at all for most iPad mini users. Again really good review.
@ Got my iPad Mini 7 about 4 days ago. Gone is the lag time and slow responses. My old Mini 4 really suddenly slowed down in the last year. Sometimes I felt like it was so suddenly slower after an update that I wonder if Apple hobbles older tablets through software to encourage updating. It has been done before in manufacturing. Anyway I am very pleased with my new Mini 7.
I bought it and I have no problems with it. I know people were expecting OLED, Pro Motion and M chips but I think that would have priced it through the roof. For context this is my first one and I was intending to buy the previous model until I saw that it would cost the same as the current model to upgrade the storage. So I agree, for the people who have the previous model no FOMO you can sit this one out.
I went with space gray (I’m basic I know lol) 128gb. I have a 2020 iPad Pro with 256 and in going on five years I haven’t used 70gb of storage so the 128 is plenty. Speaking of FOMO your video convinced me to put my wallet away and not upgrade to the M4 iPad Pro. Great content man keep it up 👍🏾
Personally, I am glad Apple stayed with LCD. Two things the tech community overlooks when it comes to OLED displays are PWM and screen burn-in. Until Apple can match the PWM frequency of Chinese brands, LCD will be good enough.
Definitely worth the upgrade from the Mini 5. I play Real Racing 3 a lot, and the 5 was beginning to have performance issues with that game. The A17 Pro chip is noticeably faster than the Mini 5’s A12 Bionic chip; and charge time is faster as well. Don’t know if it’s worth upgrading from the Mini 6, but the Mini 5 was in desperate need of an upgrade. This is a good one; so far I like everything about the Mini 7. Combined with iPadOS 18, I feel like a kid with a new toy.
Haha me too, it’s a really solid device. Obviously I wish it had some better features but it’s great for what it is. Which iPad mini config did you go with?
Just the base, Jon…128 gig, WiFi only. Finally they got away from 64 gig at the bottom; that’s long overdue. That choice between 64 or 256 was really maddening; one is not enough and the other one is more than the average person needs. 128 is the sweet spot, and they finally hit it.
I bought a cellular because once I got my first iPad, I started leaving my phone at home, like a landline. Most business can wait, or, “it could have been an email” but I still wanted a device that had my books, calendar and map. It’s up to you!
@@JonAdamsTech yeah, it’s still a great device, but I tend to reach more for my 15” M2 MacBook Air than the iPad Pro. I want something lighter, but bigger than my phone.
@@JonAdamsTech Ordered the Mini 7, the form factor is great, almost perfect, and the display and sound is decent when compared to the iPad Pro. The longer you use the Mini, the less you will notice the differences in the display and sound. Unfortunately my iPad Mini has a defect where the screen meets the chassis and there’s a small light leak, and it’s going back to Apple. So for know I’ll just keep using the Pro a bit longer.
I had a 2020 iPad Pro and still can’t decide if I wanna go to the mini 7 or iPad Pro m4….i really like that form factor , but I also like that 120hz screen…I can’t decide 😩
I know!!! There are some basic things that are just missing. For me the ability to edit my sermon on the phone is missing, I love logos sermon builder but the fact that I can’t edit it on the go with my phone when an idea pops in my head is insane.
Thanks so much for this because I really wanna get the pink mini 6 but I couldn’t decide between it and the 7 mini but I’m going with the pink mini 6🌸 thanks so much!
‼️reason Apple and this mini tablet are getting hate is their obvious penny pinching on what is a premium brand product, the mini hasn’t been upgraded in 3 years still charging same high prices, now this new version uses old tech binned parts already used in other apple devices last 2yrs but again sell for same high price, on top of that they could have made pro version resolving issue of everyone’s complaints but still haven’t, on top of that it is an ipad and should have full ipad functionality and it does not‼️ 👍👍video
i would love to see you compare this with something like the old ipad mini, the old form factor, where the smart cover would just cover the screen. i still find it that the old smart cover just felt perfect. granted it didn't protct both sides at once, but i always put the smart cover facing down when it put it down, regardless open or closed, so my ipads more or less right now have no damage. with the back and front, just feels thick.. and excessive.
@JonAdamsTech ipad 5th gen with just the smart cover. No back cover. For me, the feel of the old ipad and smart cover is just, soooo much nicer. And keeps things thin, and you actually feel the metal, instead of basically only feeling the case... just seems like a waste on such a nice product that's expensive too
If we as consumers go out and buy this iPad mini 7 and this new redesign Mac mini hopefully Apple will realize people like mini things and bring back the iPhone mini. Imagine we one day get an Apple mini pro ecosystem.
With what Apple has done in the last week or two, why would you spend 499.00 on this for the base model when you can get a Mac Mini for 599.00? I get it, one is portable, but one if overwhelmingly more useful. Spend smart. Don’t spend dumb. Get an iPad Air if you want a new iPad.
Now tha a Mini Pro doesnt seem to be in the cards for the near future, is the M4 Ipad Pro 11 the way to go if you want a better screen given it is thinner and lighter? The size is not as portable on a daily basis but does the thinning and weight reduction make a meaningful difference to tip the scales?
For me it doesn’t because it’s more about the size in the hand being like the size of a book. The 11 still tips over in the hand which isn’t enjoyable for what I want an iPad for.
@JonAdamsTech many thanks for the quick response! I think I'm trying to convince myself of something in order to cope. I have the mini 6 and love it for the form factor and how you can pull it out anywhere and it fly's under the radar. Couldn't really do it with an 11 inch in certain situations. The wait for a mini pro continues.
I love my Mini 7. I don't see a jelly scrolling issue and decent performance overall after M1 iPad Air (not including terrible ZZZ performance, probably needs an update). Form factor is the most important part. If someone don't love this size, it's not for them. Nothing on the specs gonna change that.

Finally someone who doesn't overreact over jelly scrolling.
Yeah it’s totally insane the hate the mini gets for that.
It depends on your eyes. The Mini 6 jelly scrolling bothered me.
Yeah ive heard that some folks it effects more, I just don't scroll much on my ipad i guess haha
Have had the 6 for 6+ months.
What’s jelly scrolling? 😉
(I know the definition, but I’ve never experienced it.)
