Hello John...I am looking at a Frick...believe it's a combination of pieces....headblocks are similar to a #1...old style setworks...what is troubling me is the mandrel and bearings...every frick I saw has the tapered roller bearings...this has a different style housing...only seen one other one like that and it was on a mill someone was advertising.. I guess what I'm asking is that an older style mandrel and bearings maybe?... Thanks for the videos...I have learned a lot from you
hi there just came in for lunch and saw this , can you send a pic to my e/m fricknjeep@hotmail.com . and of the mill , may be a babbet mill someone put something on , where are you located , , john
I have a 00 frick mill setup almost just like that. I converted it all to steel. The actual mill that is and use a 671 Detroit as a power unit for it and theedge. I have it setting on a wooden base made of old railroad ties. It sets up higher than most mills do though. I know back in the day they had to set them low because people didn't have loaders or forklifts but nowadays I can't see having one right on the ground.
hi there send a few pics . Always like looking at sawmills . My newer mill is all steel . Good choice for power oo mill has 471 #1 has 671 . drop a pic fricknjeep@hotmail.com . I an in Maryland where are you . thanks for the watch john
I'm in the process of buying a Frick mill and I'm looking for help locating wear parts, as well as, any information I can find out about it. This video is extremely helpful but is there a way I can contact you with some questions I have? I'm now a subscriber of your channel and I appreciate the information you currently provide. Thank you, Scott
I'll go back and video it and try to explain how I did it with some close ups so you and everybody can make one if you want, because I'm not too good at explaining this-that and the other thing. Sometimes a picture or movie are worth a thousand words, and who knows, a lot of people are smarter than me and can think of a way to do something better and then I'll learn it from you. Thank you, fricknjeep.
I would like to build me a log guage like yours. Can you please give me some pulley sizes and sprokcet sizes. My mill is a 01 frick. Some more photos would also be helpful. Thanks

If it works for you then it doesn't matter about what the armchair experts might have to say.
